Overview
The 2026 Buick Enclave is a three-row SUV that occupies the middle ground between three-row SUVs from mainstream brands and those bearing luxury badges. In most cases, however, it's way bigger than both groups thanks to adult-friendly rear seating in both rows and extra-large cargo capacity. It's also very well equipped from the get-go, with a base level of feature content that aligns more closely with the upper trim levels of non-luxury rivals, though this results in a higher base price.
Edmunds spotlight: Space for everyone
SUVs don't get much more spacious than the Buick Enclave. The Enclave, along with its corporate sibling, the Chevy Traverse, offers more passenger and cargo space than anything short of a Chevy Tahoe, Ford Expedition or a minivan. The Enclave is spacious enough for adults in all three rows, which isn't something you can say about most midsize three-row SUVs. There's plenty of room for cargo, too, with 22.9 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats.
Competitors to consider
The Enclave competes against other midsize three-row SUVs, but like most Buicks, it's one of the more expensive offerings in its class. The Traverse is the Enclave's twin, though the Chevy's interior is not quite as premium. That also goes for rivals like the Honda Pilot or Toyota Grand Highlander. If a premium cabin is what you're after, we're big fans of the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride, which look and feel properly upmarket in their higher trims.
Which Enclave does Edmunds recommend?
We recommend the entry-level Preferred trim. There's very little "base trim" about it, with features typically reserved for upper trim levels included (20-inch wheels, second-row captain's chairs, wireless phone charging, a premium audio system). And paying about $2,500 more for the midlevel Sport Touring's black accents doesn't make a lot of sense to us. Even the top Avenir trim's wealth of extra equipment doesn't vault the Enclave into the realm of luxury vehicle status, as its price tag suggests.
