What is the Sorento?
The Kia Sorento is the brand's second-largest SUV, sitting just beneath the full-size Telluride. Like the Telluride, the Sorento offers three rows of seating but in a slightly smaller package that works better for some families. No major changes are expected for the 2024 Sorento, before we could see a midcycle refresh that brings updated styling and possibly new features in 2025. As in previous years, we expect Kia to offer the Sorento Hybrid and Sorento Plug-in Hybrid, which are reviewed separately on Edmunds.
With styling inspired by its bigger sibling, the Sorento is a handsome SUV, especially when fitted with the X-Line appearance package. Its interior is plush, with many convenience features like heated and ventilated seats and a massive panoramic sunroof. The available tech is some of the best in the industry, with twin 10.3-inch displays now coming standard on most trim levels.
The Kia Sorento competes against SUVs like the Volkswagen Tiguan, Mazda CX-50 and Honda Passport. With its tech-packed interior and handsome styling, the Sorento stacks up nicely against these rivals. Having the option to seat up to seven passengers doesn't hurt either.
