2024 Audi RS 7

The RS 6 Avant is the same car as the RS 7, except in a slightly more practical wagon body style. It costs a bit less than the RS 7 and offers more cargo space and headroom. It also comes with roof rails. If you like the idea of the RS 7 but need something that serves a more active lifestyle, the RS 6 fits the bill. And while it may not look as lithe as the coupe-ish RS 7, the RS 6 stills draws admiring looks from car enthusiasts everywhere.

The Porsche Panamera's 911-inspired look up front combines with practical hatchback style and versatility in the back. If it sounds like the automotive equivalent of a mullet, don't be put off. The Panamera delivers exceptional performance, high levels of refinement and driver engagement, and utility. It's substantially more expensive than the RS 7 and doesn't make the same kind of power, nor is it as roomy. But unique style and impeccable pedigree make the Panamera seriously lust-worthy.

Gobs of power from its own turbocharged V8 and similar levels of luxury refinement make the M5 a natural competitor with the RS 7, and at a far lower price. The M5 is slightly quicker than last year's RS 7 (0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds compared to 3.3 seconds, respectively, in our testing), but that could change with the 2024 RS 7's increased power output. The Audi has a practical advantage with its liftgate and cargo capacity, but the BMW is a little roomier for passengers.
