The 2025 Audi S E-tron GT is the smallest all-electric vehicle in Audi's lineup and the only one that isn't an SUV. This coupe-like sedan undergoes the most significant change since its debut a few years ago, making it even more attractive than it was before. It blends sporty driving dynamics with the kind of comfort that allows you to take in the sights on a long trip, making it more of a touring car than an all-out sports car such as the RS E-tron GT or the related Porsche Taycan.

The 2025 S E-tron GT looks so similar to the previous year model, you'd need to compare them side by side to tell the difference. Its nonvisual changes are much more substantial and significantly improve the S E-tron's standing among other luxury EVs. The larger battery increases range from 249 miles to a solid 300 miles, and when you do need to replenish, it's capable of DC fast charging at up to 320 kW, which should shorten charge times by five minutes. Then there's the power. It climbs from a maximum of 522 horsepower to an impressive 670 hp, which could get it to 60 mph in under 3 seconds.

Competitors to consider

If you're seeking an all-electric performance sedan your choices are limited. This Audi E-tron line extends to the more potent RS models, bringing them closer to challenging the related Porsche Taycans that take power and handling to even higher limits. The larger Lucid Air is also ridiculously potent but adds quite a bit more luxury to the mix. Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz EQS and BMW i7 push refinement even further.

Which S e-tron GT does Edmunds recommend?

We're inclined to stick with the entry-level Premium Plus trim. It has essentially the same performance specs as its more expensive stablemates (minus summer performance tires) and is generously appointed. Even though most shoppers wouldn't flinch at spending $10,000 or $20,000 to step up to the Prestige or Exclusive Edition, we just don't think the added features justify those premiums.
