Great Vehicle - Poor Software
This is my fourth q7 vehicle and probably my last. I factory ordered this vehicle with the Sport, Prestige, Luxury, Black Optic and Towing packages. Positives: Engine and drive train are fantastic. Fantastic throttle response, great feel of the road and behaves like a smaller vehicle than it is. The ride is much improved over the 2017 and 2019 models I owned previously. Negatives: Software! Auto on/off system is actually dangerous. The 4.0 liter deactivates within a fraction of a second of coming to a complete stop. If you stop and try to immediately pull into traffic the engine is not able to restart for several seconds which can create a dangerous situation. The MMI is shipped from the factory full of glitches. After 4 trips to the dealer for software updates we have eliminated the significant issues. Items like: heater/air conditioning just shut off and will not restart even if you power cycle the car. Randomly starts working after several hours of sitting. Navigation system just loses your location and shows you wandering through a field several miles North of your current position. Airplay just randomly restarts multiple times. Backup cameras and parking assistance fail to activate when starting the vehicle forcing you to shut off and restart the vehicle. However, Audi's incompetence shows in that the vehicle is unable to remember any radio station presets for more than a week or so. So virtually every trip requires me to reprogram favorites and hope it remembers for a few on/off cycles.

Great understeery wagon (it's not an SUV!)
I purchased a new 2023 model with tons of discounts. Thus far, it's been great. Although, I have to admit that I am concern about the reported BSG issues plaguing some Audis. I really wish car makers would stop the nonsense of implementing these mild-hybrid systems. Well built, attention to detail in quality, etc. I'd say this wagon - it's a wagon - is probably best suited for leasing than buying. As for others' highlight about MMI issues, I haven't experienced too many glitches, but generally, I'd say that the auto industry's infotainment systems are generally just garbage. MKBHD said it best. If I show you, in 2024, an ipad that functions like those systems, you wouldn't buy them. Infotainment systems engineering just isn't carmakers' suit. Period.

All in one!!!
After owning 2nd gen loaded Q7, couldn’t be possible to top it, but this has topped it in every single area. 3rd option when needed otherwise similar as SQ8, so more practical, hence in my mind truer SUV and half the price of Urus with same engine and probably more options.
