2015-'16 Dodge Journey Among Vehicles Recalled for Transmission Pump Problem

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — Fiat-Chrysler is recalling an estimated 26,211 vehicles in the U.S., including the 2015-'16 Dodge Journey SUV, because of a transmission pump problem, the automaker said.

The recall also includes the 2015-'16 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans and the 2016 Ram ProMaster full-size van.

"An examination of warranty data prompted an FCA US investigation that determined the pumps in certain six-speed automatic transmissions may not conform to specifications, which could lead to propulsion loss," the company said in a statement.

There are no injuries or accidents linked to the recall.

An estimated 9,190 additional vehicles in Canada are subject to the recall, along with 321 vehicles in Mexico and 1,514 outside the NAFTA region.

Dodge, Ram and Chrysler dealers will replace the transmission pump. A date has not been set for the recall. Owners can contact Fiat-Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403.

No information about the recall has been posted on the website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle safety in the U.S.

Edmunds says: Dealers are waiting for parts in this recall. Owners of these vehicles should stay in touch with their dealership's service department for the latest information.
