2015 Nissan Juke Earns Four-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2015 Nissan Juke hatchback earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Five stars is the highest rating.

The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the 2015 Juke, which is on sale now at Nissan dealerships.

The 2015 Juke received three stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.

Standard safety equipment on the 2015 Juke includes six airbags, vehicle dynamic control, antilock brakes and traction control.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2015 Juke a "poor" rating in the small overlap front crash test. The test is designed to replicate what happens when the front corner of a vehicle collides with another vehicle or an object like a tree or utility pole.

The Juke earned "good" ratings in all other Institute crash tests.

Key competitors to the Juke include the Hyundai Veloster, Kia Soul and Scion xB.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should be aware that the 2015 Hyundai Veloster and 2015 Kia Soul earned the top five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. The 2015 Scion xB has not been rated.
