Aston Martin DB10, Jaguar C-X75 Star in James Bond <em>Spectre</em> Trailer

PASADENA, California — A spectacular chase scene in Rome between a limited-production Aston Martin DB10 and a Jaguar C-X75 supercar concept promises to be one of the epic scenes in the new James Bond film Spectre. The film's official trailer was released today.

Bond is once again behind the wheel of an Aston Martin — complete with a classic flamethrower — in the new movie. Aston Martin said the DB10 gives a glimpse of the "future design direction for the next generation of Aston Martins."

Production is limited to 10 DB10s, mainly movie cars. It was created just for Bond.

The bad guy in Spectre — appropriately enough, given Jaguar's Villains ad campaign — drives the C-X75, built in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering.

"I love the idea of this fantastic car being in a one-on-one battle with another incredible car from Jaguar, which is similarly extraordinary," said Spectre director Sam Mendes in a statement. "So it's a cat-and-mouse game through the nighttime streets of Rome, at great speed, between two of the fastest cars in the world."

Other Jaguar Land Rover vehicles in Spectre include heavily modified Land Rover Defenders and Range Rover Sport SVRs.

"The highly capable Defenders were constructed by the Special Operations division with huge 37-inch off-road tires to tackle the extreme terrain," Jaguar Land Rover said in a statement. "They also feature bespoke suspension and enhanced body protection."

The automaker added that its presence in Spectre gives moviegoers the chance to witness "the fantastic capabilities of the Special Operations teams."

Aston Martin's 50-year relationship with 007 is the foundation for several iconic Bond movie cars, including the Aston Martin DB5 in Goldfinger.

Cars often play important roles in movies, such as the Tartan Prancer minivan that debuts next week in Vacation, a successor to 1983's National Lampoon's Vacation.

In Spectre, a cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on the hunt to uncover a sinister organization.

The new Bond movie will debut in the U.S. on November 6.
