<em>Breaking Bad</em> Cars To Cross Auction Block

LOS ANGELES — As the final season of Breaking Bad draws to a close, a number of vehicles and other items from the hit TV show are being put up for auction, including a 2003 Pontiac Aztek driven by Emmy-winning star Bryan Cranston.

Dozens of Breaking Bad props are listed on the ScreenBid auction house's Web site, but auto enthusiasts will be most interested in the cars that appeared on the show. At the top of the list is the 2003 Pontiac Aztek driven by Cranston's Walter White, the high-school chemistry teacher who turns to drug-dealing after learning that he has terminal cancer.

As the series progressed through five seasons, and meth-cooking pays off, White buys himself a new Chrysler 300 SRT8, but fans will most associate him with the more modest Aztek, which he drove for the show's first four years.

Of the three Azteks that were used during filming, the best one will remain on display at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, and one has been relegated to parts-car status. The one up for auction suffered crash damage as part of scene and is now in non-running condition, with broken glass and a smashed rear quarter. Although the opening bid was just $1,000, this is the car that is expected to fetch the highest price.

Another car that is well known to fans of the show is the 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer driven by Walter's wife, Skyler White. Skyler, played by Emmy winner Anna Gunn, drives the Jeep for most of the show's run, and it's become almost as recognizable as Walt's Aztek. The opening bid of $7,125 reflects its running condition, although the auction house notes that it does leak oil and has some bubbles in the paint.

Walter's fellow drug-dealer Jesse Pinkman also has a couple cars in the auction. Played by another Emmy winner, Aaron Paul, Pinkman starts the series driving a 1982 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and then switches to a 1986 Toyota Tercel TDX. Although it runs, the Monte Carlo's hood and trunk latches don't work, the window seals are bad, and the paint is faded. Also, the nifty hydraulic system it sported during the show isn't functional. Opening bid was $2,500. The Tercel is in better shape, although a bit battered, and with 181,500 miles on the clock. Its opening bid was a comparatively steep $5,000.

There's more, including Walter White's less well-known Cadillac Sedan de Ville, with an opening bid of $5,000, and a 2008 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Marie Schrader, played by Betsy Brandt, which opened at $10,000, reflecting its late model year and excellent condition.

Fans will want to check the auction site for the many other props and trinkets up for bid. That includes everything from teddy bears to wheelchairs to fuzzy dice, a bike lock and a Hello Kitty phone.

Bidding begins on September 29.
