Our national fondness for trucks is only getting stronger, if last year's sales figures are any indication. In 2013, there were two trucks in the year's top 10 list of best-selling models: Ford's F150 was in the top spot, while the Chevrolet Silverado nabbed a fourth-place finish. For 2014, the number of trucks in the annual best-seller list grows from two to three: Ford's F-150 holds on to the top spot; the Chevrolet Silverado ascends to second place; and the Ram 1500 brings up the rear in 10th position.
Top 10 Best-Selling Vehicles for 2014
Of course, 2014's top 10 list of best-selling models isn't only about trucks. The tally also includes a trio of popular family sedans: the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry. A couple of small sedans make appearances: the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. And the presence of the Honda CR-V and Ford Escape proves that compact SUVs continue to be popular with shoppers.
The complete list of last year's 10 best-selling vehicles is shown below, including each model's total sales in 2014. Keep in mind that our sales figures are more granular than those reported elsewhere. Instead of lumping all Ford F-Series sales into a single number, for example, we report separate numbers for the F-150, F-250, F-350 and F-450. As a result, our rankings may differ slightly from those published in other sources.
