The 2026 Chevrolet Blazer is a midsize crossover that slots right in the middle of Chevy's packed SUV lineup. Larger than the Equinox but not as spacious as the three-row Traverse and Tahoe, the Blazer is one of the older models in Chevrolet's lineup. Despite that, we don't expect any significant changes for 2026. If anything, expect Chevy to slim down the offerings as it makes room for a possible redesign in the next few years. It's also possible — as recent reports suggest — that Chevy may discontinue its midsize SUV after the 2025 model year. In addition to this gas-powered model, Chevrolet offers an electric vehicle called the Blazer EV, but the two models are distinct and don't share much other than a nameplate.
Edmunds spotlight: Right down the middle
The Blazer is one of nine SUVs — seven gas-powered and two electric — that Chevrolet sells right now, so you'd be forgiven for getting it confused with one of the others. The midsize Blazer is as large as a Chevy gets without going to three rows, though the Blazer is smaller than some other midsize crossovers like the Honda Passport. And if you opt for the performance-themed RS, the Blazer manages to be one of the sportier options in its class, with poised handling and quick acceleration.
Competitors to consider
The midsize SUV lineup has changed significantly over the past few years, with all-new versions of the Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Land Cruiser, Honda Passport, Nissan Murano and Subaru Outback bursting onto the scene. Many of these models offer newer, more polished tech, better all-terrain capabilities and modern features. The Blazer wasn't exactly a shining star in 2019, and it feels all the more dated compared to newer rivals.
