Vastly improved car over prior generations
I have previously owned a fourth generation and a fifth generation Camaro. The fourth gen had good handling and surprisingly good fuel economy (especially for a V8), but was rough around the edges. The fifth generation was a porky car that seemed slower and while nicely styled, was impossible to see out of. It seems like GM got it right for this particular version. The acceleration (V8) is the quickest of any production car I have ever purchased, while the handling is glued to the road and the braking is first rate. But outside of the sports/muscle-car aspects, the biggest improvements are in refinement and features. In short, it is actually a nice to borderline luxurious interior that is comfortable with logical controls and well-laid-out instrument clusters and displays. The seats are essentially perfect, and even things like the steering wheel feel like they were made with optimal comfort in mind. Features like the controllable vehicle modes (Touring/Sport/Track/Snow-Ice) are a nice plus. Another plus (with the optional dual model exhaust I have) is that the car makes it clear that it is serious - the only description I have for it is that it snarls like it is angry with a don't-mess-with-me-attitude whenever you stomp on it or first fire it up. There are still negatives to the car - the biggest one is that while it is improved, the outward visibility is still not great. Another negative is the back seats are really only fit for children or small adults, so this is best thought of as a Corvette with back seats. But the pluses of the car easily win out. One other note - while I have always been a stick-shift driver, this is the first automatic vehicle (with the optional A8) I have owned that I actually like. The shifting of the auto is first rate. I am also seeing almost 27 MPG on the highway with my admitted lead-foot driving. All in all, this is by far the best muscle car I have ever purchased in a continual stream of them I have had all the way back to my high school days.

Hot 2017 Camaro 2SS
I was looking at the Dodge Challenger SRT and Ford Mustang GT Premium, but finally decided on the 50th anniversary edition Camaro 2SS. Great decision. Car is great.

Great car but...
I bought my 2017 Camaro 2ss a year ago with just 40 miles on it in 2018. Sold my base '17 mustang gt for it. I love the Camaro, I was happy with my purchase until the first issue pop up. They told me that it was the ecu harness that camed loose which causes the car to bogged. They fix it. About 6-7 thousand miles on the odometer the transmission starts to shudder at cruising speed. Took it back to the shop and they flush the transmission. The problem went away, temporary. At 8k mile, the shudder return and for the second time I took it to the dealer to get it fix. Agian they just flush the transmission. On top of this issue, their was a recall on my car, which they never got back to me, currently. I figure this car that have only just 8k miles already had been giving me issues I fear how bad it is going to be in the long run once the warrenty expire, and when it expires, it'll surely be a endless money pit. This is my 1st Chevy and it'll be my last, I felt they are too cheap to give me at least a exchange and too cheap to provide a permanent fix instead of just bandages with transmission flush. I sold my car at a lost. Paid $41k for it and sold it for $28k. I love the car, the power, the technology. I plan to keep it for a long term but because of questionable reliability and Chevy's lack of finding a permanent solution forced me to rid of it before it drains my time and wallet dry. The Camaro I have is an 8 speed automatic transmission, not sure if the problem include the manual transmission. Either way I'm done with Domestics.

2ss Camaro auto
Great economy for a muscle car with the cylinder deactivation. Can get 34 mpg at 77 mph when it switches to V4 however in town economy not so great. Have experienced auto transmission problems that have been known to GM with shuttering at moderate acceleration. Lawsuits regarding this problem. GM needs a recall to fix the problem. They say it is the wrong transmission fluid that is causing the problem. However have read that torque converters are getting ruined. GM is just not taking care of this problem.
