Excellent Auto
This is an updated review. Rear view camera works well except it is slow to brighten when exiting garage into sunshine. OnStar and Wi-Fi data services are pricey. I love the styling, inside and out. Ride is very quiet and very smooth. 3.6L engine and 6 speed transmission are great. this car is very fast with no hesitation and fuel economy is better than expected. This car runs well on E85 fuel but but MPG drops about 25%. Handles and brakes really good. The electric parking brake works great. Electronic safety warnings work perfect. Seating is very comfortable. Not too soft and not too firm. Climate control does a good job. Controls on dash and the DIC all work good, although the dash light dimmer adjustment is somewhat abrupt. I use it to soften the touchscreen brightness during night driving. Headlights are good. Fit and finish are very good. The standard speakers sound wonderful. Bluetooth works perfectly with cellphone. The battery failed after just 33000 miles but was replaced under warranty with no charge. At 42000 miles the original Firestone high performance tires were replaced with Firestone all season tires that seem much better. Overall I am very well pleased. Update #2 - At age 5 yrs and 57,000 miles everything is still great but I had to replace electric trunk latch at abt 50,000. It was an easy, inexpensive repair I did myself. I am still very impressed with car overall.

IMPALA DOES IT AGAIN!
I have owned 8 Chevy Impala's in my car ownership life. My first Impala was in 1958 and I absolutely loved that car. It had drawbacks like it rusted quickly and the back seat area was small with 2 children. I kept it till 1965, when I purchased my next Impala. Then many Impala's followed. I thought that my 2005 Impala was the best Impala that I ever owned and that it couldn't get any better. My present 2015 Impala is the BEST car that I ever owned. It handles like a dream, comfortable to drive and ride in and for a V6 it is very peppy and economical to operate. I am really bummed that GM has opted to discontinue production of the Impala. I'll be forced to look at another manufacturer for my next purchase as I don't need or want an SUV. I have my preferences when it comes to transportation. Hey GM, let's keep producing the Impala.

good sedan
Overall, a good full size sedan. I am 6'5" and found that I have plenty of head room and am not in the least cramped and still have adjustment room left in the driver seat (normally, I run out of room for my legs, not so with the new Impala). You absolutely need the V6, as the 4 cylinder would be highly stressed in this size vehicle. The V6 has plenty of power and mileage is acceptable (I am getting 22 city/27 highway). Acceleration is excellent and the tranny shifts smoothly and efficiently; it likes to keep your rpms under 2400. I like the "manual" mode, which I use in town. Large trunk, rear seats fold down flat, adding more trunk room. A good vehicle for tall people.
Seemingly Common Fuel Pump Issue
I bought this car about 2 months ago. As I am driving down the highway the service engine light and traction control lights come on as well as two warnings. One stated that I needed to service the Stabilitrak system and that engine power was reduced. I took it to the dealer the same day to get it fixed and got a call the next day saying the fuel pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The part is on back order as well so it will take at least a week to get the necessary repairs. I did a little research on this and found that it seems like a common problem. It also seems like it might be a recurring issue so I'm pretty worried about future problems considering this happened just 2 months after I bought it. The repairs are covered under the factory warranty so it's not costing me anything yet. But seeing as how quickly and frequently this issue arose I would imagine some costly repairs in the future. I'm typically not one to complain but given the circumstances, along with with the fact that this is the first new car I've purchased, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I am questioning whether or not I will purchase a GM product ever again.

Long term rental
I was on an assignment so I got an impala for a long term rental. I drove it to and from work, to and from my home, and around town. I generally like it. However, my biggest peeve is the noise. I was convinced that the rear window was open because of all the road noise I could hear in my left ear. But, no, that is just its lack of sound deadening material. In every other aspect this is a nice car. But, it is just too noisy. Trunk is quite large. It is a large car.
