2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 4dr Crew Cab 5.8 ft. SB (5.3L 8cyl 8A)
Turned 50 and decided to treat myself to a new truck. I shopped around and found a 2019 Silverado LT with the Z71 package, 5.3L V8 and the 8 Speed transmission. Upgraded to 20" High County Rims, Borla Exhaust and some interior goodies.
-Day 2 of ownership. Infotainment screen went crazy after shifting out of reverse. (Maybe a sign)
-1800 miles down the road. The tranny started to shift … hard in 3-5 gears and when leaving reverse to drive forward the tranny would slip then slam into gear.
-1st trip to Service. "Reprogrammed " Transmission
-2nd trip to Service. A new transmission Valve body installed. The put it on the ground and it wouldn't for forward or backward. They put a different P/N Valve Body on. All parts were sent from GM not picked off a shelf
-3rd trip to Service. The replaced all of the internal transmission clutch discs that were "Scorched and out of Spec"
**Claim started with GM for buy back**
-4th trip. Was told that the tranny would be replaced. Arrived to pick up and noticed they only, "Reprogrammed" again.
-5th trip. The service department said that GM will no longer work on this transmission and GM said my truck doesn't "Qualify for the buy back program"
Hired a Lemon Law Attorney. Totally sad that on the newest GM and the 6th I've owned, I get treated like this. I've completely lost my confidence in this truck that now only has 6k miles on it and GM.
Most struggles with taking a vehicle in for service, they "can't duplicate customers complaints". Everytime I brought it in... THEY CONFIRMED IT!
