From the subcompact Trax to the full-size Tahoe, there's a Chevrolet SUV for just about everyone. Near the top of the lineup is the Chevy Traverse, a midsize three-row SUV that's one of the most spacious sport-utes on sale today. Since it was redesigned just a couple of years ago, we don't expect significant changes for the 2026 Traverse.
Edmunds spotlight: Bigger than it looks
Outside of full-size SUVs like the Tahoe, it doesn't get much bigger than the Traverse. Adults can fit in the third row, which isn't something you can say about most three-row SUVs. There's plenty of cargo room, too, with 22.9 cubic feet of space behind the third row. Fold all of the rear seats down and the space opens up to nearly 100 cubic feet, rivaling the carrying capacity of minivans like the Toyota Sienna. That makes the Traverse a nice option if you need lots of space for people and cargo but don't want to drive something as large as a full-size SUV.
Competitors to consider
The Chevy Traverse competes in one of the most densely packed classes around, with three-row SUVs available from just about every automaker. Some of Edmunds' favorites include the Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, Toyota Grand Highlander and Honda Pilot. There's also the Buick Enclave, which is built on the same platform as the Traverse but offers a slightly more premium interior.
