A great sale, a nightmare after.
by Brent on 02/20/2025Initially I posted a 5 star review, the sales people were quick and although there were bumps I was generally satisfied. The financing manager Moe, mistook the VIN I was purchasing for another and I had to go through the paperwork twice. He… then failed to collect a down payment on the vehicle which resulted in me needing to jump through the necessary hoops the next day to do so. Ford was holding a promotion to receive a free charger with the purchase of my truck at the time. No one at the dealership was even aware of this and it took me a month of phone calls before they sent me the necessary information get the charger from Ford. My license plates arrived after my paper plates expired and it took several calls to the dealership to get this resolved. The real reason for me posting this review is the federal tax credit. My tax return was denied because the IRS was never informed that my the VIN of the vehicle I purchased was sold as an EV. The sales manager, Eugene Bryant, won't even return my calls on this subject and I'm going to be forced to take legal action to get this remedied. Be careful with these people. Their inability and disinterest in helping after the point of sale is alarming.Buyers Beware!
by PJ on 12/02/2024Buyers Beware. Located a used vehicle at AutoNation Ford Katy (online) on a Friday evening right before the dealership was closing. Spoke to a salesman and made arrangements to see the vehicle at 9am the following day which coincides with… the dealerships opening hour. Got there at 8:45. Drove the vehicle and started the negotiations to trade in my current truck to purchase the new one. Red flag number one....dealer tried to tell me the gears were "slipping" in my current vehicle and although their "expert" on transmissions was not there to assess themselves, he had stated on their PHONE call to him that it was most likely a transmission issue based on the age/mileage of the truck. Obviously this was a ploy to lessen the value of my trade but little did the dealer know that the transmission was recently replaced and still under warranty. Once it was revealed, dealer started back tracking and while initial trade value was low (as expected with most dealers) the final trade value was within KBB standards for condition of vehicle. Crisis averted, sale and trade numbers agreed to and buyers’ agreement formally finalized and SIGNED by BOTH parties around 12:30. Now this is where it gets sketchy. The dealer knew from the VERY beginning the new vehicle was being financed thru a credit union. I was informed that the dealer no longer accepted DRAFTS from credit unions and I would have to provide a CASHIERS CHECK. Being this was on a Saturday, we were limited on TIME because the credit union closed at 1pm. However, the dealer and credit union had exchanged all paperwork, including the buyers agreement PRIOR to the credit union closing. I agreed to come back on Monday morning with the cashiers check and pick up the truck as it had still not gone thru make-ready and was waiting for a lightbulb for a head/tail light that had gone out. Fast forward to TODAY.....first call (around 9am) is from the credit union to let me know that this dealer is BLACKLISTED from having cashier checks issued to them because of problems in the past with obtaining titles. (This information was not available to the loan officer but came from the underwriter as she was processing the loan.) They did however agree to do a draft if the dealer would accept. I immediately called the dealer to discuss. VM's until noon. Finally connect with my sales guy only to find out the dealer SOLD THE VEHICLE SATURDAY AFTERNOON!!! Proceeds to tell me that the buyers agreement WE (dealer and myself) BOTH SIGNED isn't legally binding since there was no money put down. Please note that I ASKED EXPLICITY if ANYTHING else needed to be done to make sure the vehicle was not going anywhere and was told no because the buyers agreement was my commitment to purchase. Obviously I was pissed and called BS on the whole transaction. Their response to me was they have a team of lawyers available if I would like to discuss further. Tried locating ANYONE with ANY authority at this dealership with ZERO success. Could not even getting a receptionist to answer the phone. The only numbers provided to me went straight to VMs. I caution anyone who values their time and money, OR is looking for support during or after the purchase of a vehicle to steer clear of this dealership. DON’T VISIT - Fraudulent Dealership
by MSVirdi on 08/08/2024DON’T VISIT - Fraudulent Dealership, Dishonest Employees and Management, and Bogus Return Policy. Bought a pre-owned Acura MDX on Wednesday 7/31/2024, took it back to Autonation Ford for malfunctioning lane departure on Thursday 8/1/2024,… and when Manager, Maz, saw me coming he acted arrogantly like he has never seen me before when I bought a car less than 24 hrs ago and he was the one who appraised my old car. They kept the car for the day but never got the issue corrected. After picking up the car on 8/1/2024 I texted the sales rep, Danny, and his response was “Out of my hands, someone will call you”. Thereafter I asked him can I use the return policy (BOGUS and SCAM) – but Danny went silent. Even though Danny said someone will call me no one called so I called his Manager, Maz, on 8/2/2024 and he told me Danny would call me on Monday 8/5/2024 but no one called me. It’s been more than 7 days since I bought MDX which means the return policy has expired. More than 4 days since I have been waiting for a call – which proves their commitment and policy are bogus and lie. Both Danny and Maz said you should not use this feature and turn it off – WHAT? These safety features are built for a reason. The solution is simple send this car for sensor alignment to ACURA and get it re-aligned for $450. Autonation is using its return policy as a honey trap that will deliberately make you hold on to your vehicle past the five days so you can't return it any longer. Autonation has no word, doesn’t honor its commitment to customer satisfaction, and honors there on own return policy. Autonation Ford Katy should be not on your list to buy a car, it will be a sour experience worth your time and money.Hello, thank you for reaching out and sharing this feedback with us. Shady Dealership!
by Daisy on 08/01/2024Be warned! We saw a vehicle online so we went check it out and signed a contract the same day even though the vehicle hasn’t gone through inspection and not ready for pick up. After we left and we read the contract again and realized $10k… options were added to our sales price without being told those were options. The financing person, Derek, never asked if we want to add all these window protection, tire protection, extended warranty etc. So we cancelled the contract the next day, which is still within the company’s 5 days money-back guarantee period. The sales person, Sam, told us we can pick up our deposit check, so we drove over an hour there just to be told that they already cashed our check and it will take 3-5 days to process the refund. Over the next two weeks, they didn’t return our voicemail, only reply to our emails saying to check back again and again. We didn’t even pick up the vehicle and lost all the down payment. 2500 GMC

Salesman was cool to work with, even though i paid cash financing took a long time. Before driving the vehicle out of… the parking lot someone swiped the front fender and didn't say anything! Update to 2500GMC, the truck had problems right after I got it home. Diesel line was leaking creating large white smoke coming from under the hood and also severe pulling to the left side while braking. Three weeks in the repair shop and $2250.00 later, the truck is repaired. So much for the AutoNation 50 point inspection. Also I have not been able to reach a GM when I have called or left a voicemail to discuss these issues.
Terrible experience with service here
by F150owner on 01/04/2024Bought my 2023 Powerboost Hybrid Lariat at AutoNation Katy. It’s a $70k truck. It’s been 6 months now since I bought the truck. Too many issues w the truck since I got it. A terrible service just makes the problems worse. I called to… schedule an appointments for repair before I bring my truck in. They asked me to describe the problem(s) during the calls and I told them what they are. When I bring the truck there, they asked to describe the problems again and then tell me to either leave the truck there for few days w/o a loaner car or schedule another appointment to bring it back. What’s the point of the first appointment? They have done this multiple times and I am sick and tired of this place. I don’t recommend buy cars or trucks at this dealer and have your cars service here. A recent problem didn’t even get fixed and they created another problem after I picked it up.
