  • Trade in for new Vehicle Experience

1.6 out of 5 starsby cpager on 07/15/2008

What a nightmare! The sales person brought us to clearance sales rather than to the MazdaCX9 we were interested in. During the process of attempting to purchase a clearance vehicl it suddenly was sold out from under us over the phone. An exact vehicle 5k more was shown to us and the deal was worked giving us thousands under bluebook tradin and they wanted 7 k cash. Next the sales person who was to appraise our trade-in, stripped out our ingnition switch and said he didn't do it on purpose. He never mentioned to managers what he had done. They refused to pay for the damage they caused. We had to walk several blocks to feed my family at 8:30 pm whilw waiting on a family member to pick us up. The sales manager and Fleet internet manager never returned my call. Finally a manager named John called to ask when I plan to get my truck off there property. He adviced me he could do nothing for me and I adviced him I would be contacting agencies to let them know how they treat customers. $400 dollars later and a week without my truck, I never received an apology or any offer to help. I also had to push my truck backwards and onto the tow truck while The Earnhardt staff watched! What an unprofessional business. Never will I or my friends do business with any of the Earnhardt dealerships!!!

My Husband and I recently went to Earnhardt Ford to purchase a new vehicle. I have had my heart set on the Explorer and as we have a new baby on the way in a few short weeks, we were working with a short time line. Laurie M. and her team were fabulous from the very start. She is professional, friendly and efficient. Laurie had us in and out in a two hour window. I want to thank the whole team, including Gazwan for working with us. I cannot emphasize our gratitude. We we be loyal Earnhardt Ford customers for life.

Standard pressure and pushy high cost add ons. Post sales issues very difficult to resolve. They will tell you anything to get the sale through. Watch them write the words "no promises" on the vehicle acceptance/inspection chart. They mean it!

On Saturday March 12, 2011 my girlfriend and I were victims of horrible customer service from an employee of Earnhardt Ford in Chandler. We arrived at the dealership approximately 2:30 in the afternoon. We had an appointment with Aaron Fleck to view and test drive a steel blue metallic four cylinder XLT 202A Ford Escape that I had previously contacted them through the Costco Auto program. Aaron introduced himself and stated he would be with us in a moment because he was finishing up with a customer. My girlfriend and I walked over to the Escape and started looking through the vehicle. Once Aaron came to assist us the first thing he wanted to show us was the sync capabilities of the stereo system. Once he was finished with that he offered to take us for a test drive. I noticed that the fuel level was low and the vehicle stated it had ten miles left until empty. Aaron stated the vehicle still could get ten more miles once the vehicle states empty. Aaron then got in the drivers seat and test-drove the vehicle. He stated how the V6 engine gets great acceleration and continued to talk about the stereo system and among other things. Six miles into the test drive Aaron had pulled over onto a residential street and allowed myself to get behind the wheel to test-drive the vehicle. Unfortunately I was unable to do a freeway test drive for fear I would run out of gas. I drove approximately four miles after the vehicle stated the gas tank was empty. I did notice a distinctive sound coming from the vehicle when the gas tank hit empty and going to reserve fuel. Once we arrived back to the dealership I asked Aaron if he had this same color and specifications in a four cylinder. We then walked around the lot looking for a steel blue metallic Ford Escape but were unable to find one with the specifications I requested. I then asked Aaron if I could test drive any color Escape with the specifications I asked about. Aaron found me a sterling gray metallic four cylinder Escape with the 202A package. He then walked back in the building and got a jump-start kit, which he used to jump-start the vehicle. I was able to take this vehicle for a test drive and once finished look throughout the vehicle taking a closer look at the interior specifics. I informed Aaron that I liked the V6 Ford Escape that we drove but only if he could find it for me in a four cylinder. Aaron, my girlfriend and I then proceeded inside where Aaron stated he would look in the computer system and try and find the Ford Escape I originally wanted to see. While waiting Tex Earnhardt walked by us and introduced himself asking us if everything was going well. Both of us responded that everything was going well and then he handed us one of his business cards. Shortly after that Aaron came back with an invoice of a Ford Escape. Aaron had stated that there is a rebate going on that would reduce the price of the vehicle instead of doing the zero percent financing. The first invoice Aaron showed us was for a steel blue metallic 203A XLT Ford Escape without the sport package. He informed me that this vehicle was approximately 300 miles away and would take some time to get here. I informed Aaron that was not the vehicle I specified. He then showed me a second invoice for a steel blue metallic 201A XLT Ford Escape. He informed me that this vehicle was approximately 500 miles away. I also informed Aaron that was not the vehicle I was interested in. Aaron then walked back to an office and searched for more Escapes. He then came back with an invoice showing a XLT 202A Ford Escape in the steel blue metallic color. I noticed the invoice did not show the 17-inch chrome wheels I wanted. I asked Aaron if that could be put on as an after market piece. Aaron stated he could place an order for the exact specifications I wanted but due to it being close to the month of April, Ford has already started making there 2012 models. Aaron stated he could not give us an exact cost of a vehicle because he would have to place an order for the vehicle to get an invoice, and that it would take eight to twelve weeks for the vehicle to arrive at the dealership. I stated can we add on the price of the 17-inch chrome wheels and see what the total cost would be. I grabbed out my phone and used it as a calculator to start adding up the cost of the vehicle. I asked Aaron what is the tax rate in this city in which he replied 8.8 percent. Aaron gave me an estimate of the fees and licensing verbally instead of finding the exact pricing. After finding out the total I informed Aaron that this vehicle was within my price range and that I could afford it. Before we could start the financing options Aaron asked me why I wasn’t looking to buy the vehicle today. I informed him that I was waiting for my tax return in the mail to put a down payment on the vehicle. I also stated that I was still looking at other vehicles and was narrowing down my search. Aaron had stated that with all the vehicles I was looking at that I would not be finished in my search for a couple months. Aaron stated with all the information I had gathered off the Internet that I had already made up my mind on the vehicle I wanted. I informed Aaron that just because the Internet stated certain vehicles were better than others doesn’t mean that I would have liked it in a test drive. Aaron then stated that Earnhardt values in customer service and that if he were to sell me a car today that I would feel like I had not received excellent customer service. I had told Aaron that I was going to be honest with him and stated that he was correct. Aaron asked why did I feel this way. I stated that he has been difficult to work with because I specifically stated what specifications I wanted in a Ford Escape and it took him three invoice and over a half hour of our time. Aaron then proceeded to stand up out of his chair and say that he had been disrespected and stated that I don’t think I can sell you a car and asked us to please leave. As Aaron was walking away I asked to speak to a manager. Aaron had turned around and stated he would not get us a manager and asked us to leave the premises. My girlfriend then walked down a hall where she found an employee and stated I need to speak with a manager right now please. This gentleman replied stating I am a manager but I am with a customer and I will get you another manager. This employee introduced us to Juan Bermudez. Juan stated he was a manager and asked how could he be of assistance. I informed him of the situation in detail starting from the time my girlfriend and I arrived. I told Juan how Aaron never asked for assistance from a manager prior to our incident and Juan agreed that Aaron should have done that. Juan apologized for the customer service we experienced and wrote down his name and that of Roberta McDonald on the business card we received from Tex Earnhardt. He told us Roberta McDonald was the direct contact for Costco. He also stated that once I narrow down my choice of my top two vehicles to come back and see him and he would help us. Juan did not offer any follow up assistance regarding the customer service we received. My girlfriend and I then proceeded to leave.

We recently decided to go back to an Explorer instead of a car and called Laurie at Earnhardt to see if she could help us again. She found the exact Explorer we wanted, even had AWD we were looking for. We have had great experiences whenever we purchase from Earnhardt Ford wheather a car, truck or SUV.

We test drove a Fusion here. It was a nice car but the salesperson had a very limited knowledge of the product and even less awareness of the inventory. He embellished the horsepower & more. Fortunately, the Edmunds website had the facts. We will be shopping elsewhere. Buyer beware here.

We were casually looking for a Ford Explorer when we arrived at Earnhardt Ford. I was lucky enough to be introduced to Laurie, and it literally was the best experience we've ever had purchasing a car. She listened to what we wanted, didn't need and was very careful with our budget. She was willing to search all over the state of Arizona to find the exact car that fit our needs. She was a great listener and was very sincere. She took time to talk to my children in a very kind way, which is very important to this mother! Laurie did not play games with the price, it was a bottom line offer that was perfect for us. She worked with us to trade in our beloved vehicle and just made is so smooth and easy. Without any hesitation, I would return to Earnhardt Ford and work with Laurie directly again. We also experienced great service in the finance department and for once we didn't feel judged on what and how we were financing! Overall, it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Thanks Earnhardt Ford and very special thanks to Laurie!

It was the best experience I have had buying a car. Laurie M did everything she could do to find me the mustang I wanted. First I wasn't even sure I wanted a new mustang but after Laurie let me drive a 2014 my 2006 seemed way behind in technology. Every question I had Laurie answered without hesitation. After looking at a few mustangs I made up my mind and told her what a new one had to have. I was expecting her to call me in a week or so but within a half hour she found my car. Laurie made the whole thing very simple. She even made suggestions to make the car more sporty. She had the wheels powder coated and we ordered lovers. All in all it was a smooth process and enjoyable. I would recommend earnhardt ford but I definitely would recommend Laurie as their sales person. I look forward to doing more business with earnhardt and Laurie. Thank you. Barb w

My Husband and I had been looking to purchase a new vehicle and had been searching for quite some time. We were just about ready to give up when we received a call from Victor T over at Earnhardts. We had met with him about 6 months ago and they did not have anything that we were looking for at the time. He did not hound us or harass us like most sales people do. He only contacted us when he got exactly what we were looking for. He called us the day they took in this vehicle and had us come right down. I fell in LOVE! Victor and all the Earnhardt staff made me feel so welcome and helped answer every question I had and made my purchase so easy. I will NEVER go to another dealership and would recommend Victor to everyone!!

Me and my wife visited Earnhardt Ford looking for a Mustang. A salesman who was polite greeted us with a smile. Our salesman name was Gilbert from Sam Francisco as said his name tag. We were inquiring for the 2015 mustang gt convertible. Gilbert explained the car will be available in next several months and showed us online information that made our decision to order one as soon as we can. He made us feel comfortable when he answered our questions and made a few suggestions which in turn decided to go with the 2015 mustang convertible. Thank you Earnhardt Ford for making our buying experience better than the past.

This is the second car in a row that I have purchased form Earnhardt Ford and luckily, this time I had the fortune of working with Laurie M. I detest the car buying experience and wanted to handle everything over the phone. Laurie M. took my call and within minutes, I was actually enjoying the normally painful routine of "What do you want?" and "What is it going to cost me?" Laurie M. quickly located the car we were interested in and started the process of getting it delivered. Through a few twists of fate, the original car was unavailable but Laurie M. quickly found a replacement. Within a few days we arrived at the dealer and within 2 hours had signed all of our docs and were driving off the lot with our new Ford Explorer Sport. But not before getting the white-glove treatment and walk thru from Laurie M. My wife has all sorts of issues with technology and Laurie M. was able to set her at ease and get her phone synced to the car. Whew! I will absolutely go back to Laurie M. when I am ready to buy a car in two years.

We bought another new car from Earnhardts. Laurie M was so pleasant and professional to deal with. None of the old fashioned car sales games. We told her what our price range was and she presented very good options.

We went to Earnhardt Ford to look at new and used F-150 late model pickups. We had previosly purchased a 2011 Ford Escape through the Costco Purchase Plan and were very pleased with the entire purchase experience. Our sales person, Laurie M, was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. We worked with Laurie again on the F-150 pickup. Once again our experience was extremely pleasant and led to a purchase of a new 2013 F-150 Lariat with the Eco-Boost engine. Laurie provided all the information we asked about, showed us many different invoices pointing out the comparitive benefits of each vehicle including the rebate benefits. She also provided accurate information about additional features we wanted to add. We were able to negotiate a satisfactory price, reasonable trade in values (we were trading in 2 vehicles), and the cost of the add on features. There was no pressure at anytime during the purchase process. they considered all of our offers and addressed all of our concerns. When it came to financing, they provided us with several options and worked hard to get us the lowest interest rate possible. I would highly recommend Earnhardt Ford and especially Laurie M for a great vehicle purchase exprience. We are also very pleased with their after purchase care and service.

Happy customer and owner of a 2013 Certified Pre owned Ford Explorer. Laurie M was my sales person. I was unsure of what I wanted to buy. Laurie called me and asked me to come down and see this Explorer. I did drive down and the vehicle had everything I told Laurie I wanted. She answered all my questions and was very thorough. Couldn't have asked for a better sales person. I will definitely call Laurie in the future. Thank you

We almost bought a car here today and was encouraged to take the car for a couple hours to see how we liked it. We were told a price before we took it out, even written up an agreed upon price. Not to mention that price was even repeated on the phone before we picked the car up to test drive only to find they jacked the price up by over $1000 when we sat down to make an offer. Very disappointed in the way we were treated.

Laurie M is by far the best sales person I have ever had. Doesn't try to sell you on something you do not want, she is very attentive to your needs. I appreciated her not being a typical sales person!! I could not be happier with my experience, I love my new 2013 Escape!
