Oil leaks
by Oleg777 on 11/01/2014All the credits for the 10/31/14 service of my Toyota Solara should go to the Honda Service Consultant Christopher Jones and his technician. I need to add that Mr. Jones is a professional, efficient, poised and trustworthy individual.Another Great Service Experience
by Theophx on 10/02/2014My wife and I have had both our Honda cars serviced at Bell Honda for several years and we could not be more happy. Everyone we encounter in the service department have been very professional, always prompt and pleasant to deal with. I do… minor maintenance on our cars and have a good idea of their condition so I welcome the accurate feedback I always get from the technician. I had the valves adjusted this week on the Accord and enjoyed prompt, professional service at a fair price. If you are in Phoenix I highly recommend the service department at Bell HondaBell Honda Review
by huskermel1 on 10/01/2014George H my advisor does a fabulous job for me and always goes the extra mile to make sure I am taken care of. He is the main reason I always bring my car to Bell Honda for all my services.Best Service I've Had Anywhere
by GenaLyn on 09/22/2014I was very happy with my service. Everyone was very friendly and I was in and out in about an hour. I had run over something on the freeway and was concerned about damage. Not only did they check that out but also performed my 30,000 mile… check up and an alignment in the time frame. Very cool!Gary was great
by metzmatt on 09/15/2014Gary E was the salesman who helped us when we dropped by the dealership to look at a listed 2010 Honda Fit. Gary was straight-shooting, friendly, and easy to work with. We were able to get a very fair price on a nice used car. We are… delighted and would recommend that anyone internet shopping ask for Gary E if you are looking for a good deal and great transaction at Bell Honda.Very attentive and helpful team
by jfp7 on 09/06/2014I just obtained a 2014 Honda Civic from Bell Honda, and the whole team made the process clear and simple. And though I did wait for a substantial period for the busy finance department, the team was continuously attentive to our wait, and… made our experience quite pleasant. I highly recommend the team at Bell Honda.Worked OK for me
by clevispin on 08/28/2014I dont really expect an awesome car buying experience anymore. Their competitive environment is so intense that they do things I dont like to survive. But Bell Honda was as good as its going to get for my wife and I, and I was surprised… because its in the Bell Road auto strip. Anyway, the salesperson was very knowledgeable on his product, the sales manager gave us a fair even great price without a lot of pushing, and the finance guy was fast and efficient. They really pushed us to make a decision now, without leaving, which I dont like but have come to expect and understand. Wont be any different anywhere else. I just dont like it because Im tight with my money and like to sleep on a decision. Anyway, they seem to be working hard at making the place a good experience and at the same time deal with their competitive environment. Give them a shot.Horrible/Dishonest Buying Experience
by promethean on 06/12/2014Went to purchase a used Honda Odyssey that was advertised on Cars.com on Friday, May 23, 2014. Looked at and liked the car, took a test drive, checked the car out, and decided to buy. Went inside and they tried to price the car $3,000.00… than the listed/internet price. When this was pointed out, the Sales Manager, agreed to honor the pre-discussed and published internet price. Then the 'fun' begins.... Jake B, the salesperson, writes up the deal, gets our info, and then goes to talk to the Finance Manager, Matt B. He returns with Matt, and says the interest rate would be 8%, to which we said OK. He also asked how much we would put down, and left to work on the numbers. Jake, left again, and returned with 'good news' they were able to get us 3.25% interest. We were then taken to Matt's office to sign paperwork. Matt, ran through additional options galore, to which we declined, except my wife was talked into a 12 month warranty, for an additional $2,300.00. Matt proceeded to push form after form at us for signatures. Afterwards I mentioned to my wife that is felt like a carnival shell game. We finished up, and I waited for a couple of hours while the car was prepared. When the car was ready, the power mirrors on both doors did not work. They took the care back to service, returning 45 minutes later, telling me that the plug on the door panel for the mirrors had been accidentally disconnected when the technicians were installing the alarm!! Installing the alarm? The car had no alarm listed on the dealer sticker, and they had dishonestly added the alarm after we committed to the car, adding $850.00 the the car price. At this time I was burned out and just took the car and left. The next afternoon my wife reviewed the purchase paperwork and became very angry. She showed me that they had increased the purchase price of the vehicle $4,400.00!!! We both realized that in Matt's fast paper shuffle, that on the long purchase form had been held folded over, obscuring the sale price of the car. At the time I noticed this, but discounted it to the fact that the form was too long for the desktop. I never imagined that a professional dealership would increase the sale price and hide it from the buyer. All we ever heard from Matt was the monthly payment. I called Matt B, told him that we had a real problem, and I would be in tomorrow (Sunday) to either have this corrected or return the car. Sunday I returned and met with Matt B. He did the same 'go around and around' game to confuse issues and wear me down. In addition to the unwanted alarm they had an over $1,100.00 alarm add on for satellite tracking system. In the end we compromised on the vehicle pricing. I did not get everything I wanted, but it was within the acceptable margin. Three items were left on the car that I did not want: 1) extended warranty, 2) alarm system w/o satellite options, and 3) 3 year paint refresh service plan. Also I told Matt to change the financing from Vantage (a dealer financing network where commissions are paid the dealership) to my credit union. The interest rate fell from 3.25% to 2.9%!! There was more to this that required a third trip to see Matt B, Wednesday May 28, 2014, and sign new papers, but I won't detail that mess here...you certainly get the idea. After our third trip to Bell Honda, we were done with them, hoping never to again have contact. Notes on the three items Matt B, Bell Honda REFUSED to remove: On the Extended Warranty Matt told me that he could not cancel it because it was already registered. I knew this was a lie, contacted the warranty company the following week, and cancelled the extended warranty, with funds returned to my bank. The car was purchased in Friday, May 23, 2014, and the Warranty company did not receive the electronic forms until Friday, May 30, 2014. On the Alarm, Matt said that the alarm was previously installed by the dealer, and he could not take that off. Another lie, as I was told that the new problem with the power mirrors when I picked the car up was caused by the technician knocking the plug off while installing the alarm. Matt said that the paint protection, $395.00, would not be taken off, and I was burned out and let that go. Vehicle Failure: It is now 2.5 weeks, and 600 miles later, and the whole air conditioning system failed. I then called Bell Honda and spoke to the service department about the "1 Month, 1000 Mile Warranty" that came with the sale of the car, and repair of the air conditioning. The service technician told me that the repair should be covered by the warranty, but he had to transfer me to Sales to have the job written up. I was transferred to Jake Bridges, our salesman. I explained that the A/C had failed, the warranty, what the service department had told me, and he agreed that the A/C repair should be covered. Jake then transferred me his sales manager for approval. Dave S, Sales Manager, then got on the line. I explained the situation to him, and after a few hemming and hawing moments he told me that the A/C WAS NOT covered by the warranty, but that he would get me a special price on the repair. He would speak to service and get right back to me with the price. After 2 hours I had not heard and began calling every 20 minutes. Dave was always not around/unavailable. After 3 hours I finally spoke to Dave, and was told the 'Special Deal' for the A/C repair would be $2,000.00. How SPECIAL....I had the car at a major/local repair shop, who will do the work for $1,352.00!! BOTTOM LINE: AVOID BELL HONDA LIKE THE PLAGUE!! We still have the body paint refresh plan through Bell Honda, but will NEVER set foot at that dealership again, and eat that cost too!If you don't fall for their line, they curse at you and punch your vehicle.
by cruiser13 on 04/04/2010They tried the old lowball KBB value, but since I knew how to use the book, I proved them wrong. The salesman bacame more aggitated as I fended off his tactics. Finally, I got fed up and left. The salesman followed me to my car, called me… a [violative content deleted] and punched my car as I left. Quality place.Bell Honda, Phoenix, AZ
by uofa on 12/05/2009Bell Honda, Phoenix, AZ would get a zero rating if that were possible. They don't know how to treat people. We made arrangements over the phone to purchase a 2010 CR-V and the price was agreed upon. We told them we would be there the next… day to purchase it. While we were sitting with the salesman they sold the car to someone else. Needless to say we walked out and were very angry. We drove 290 miles to be treated like that! I read the bad reviews about them on the internet. I hope I can keep someone from making the same mistake we did.2004 Honda Pilot Purchase
by scrat on 02/06/2009Sales experience was fairly painless. Had agreed to prices for trade-in and purchase before I set foot on the lot. Final purchase was only $500 higher than agreed upon numbers, but it took some negotiating. What's the point of… pre-arranging a purchase price if you just have to re-negotiate the numbers when you get there? O.K. but not great. For a pre-arranged purchase, the sales process took too long in my opinion. The finance part was not as pleasant as the purchase. Finance rate and approval went smoothly (excellent credit rating). But it took nearly a half hour to convince the finance person that I did not want to purchase any sort of an extended warranty. During the course of this half hour the finance person basically called me an idiot in several different ways for not agreeing to an extended warranty. Very unpleasant experience. The whole process took nearly 4 hours, way too long for what I thought was a pre-arranged purchase. Contrast this to a purchase made through another dealer's fleet department several years earlier where I was in and out with the new car in less than an hour, at the agreed upon price.Usual sales dept., Finance Dept - BEWARE
by rockinrn on 01/19/2009Had a relatively painless sales experience; however, old school tactics are still used. You just have to be [violative content deleted] more stubborn than they are. Was able to buy a 2009 CR-V at $500 below invoice with tint being the… only add-on I agreed to pay for. It is amazing how quick Zaktec, Appearance Package and Market Adjustment seem to fade away when things get serious, indicating to me that the dealership pays very little for these high profit add-ons. Now for the [violative content deleted] in the deal - the Finance Department. They totally lied about the optional maintenance agreement stating that it covered maintainance items at intervals that Honda does not require. It is basically a prepaid agreement to change oil and rotate tires. They made a big deal about a special comprehensive inspection every 12,000 miles ( which they said cost $200) which sounded reasonable at the time. After purchasing the agreement I checked with the service department - NO such vehicle inspections are required by Honda!! And oil changes are required every 7500 miles not every 3000 miles as stated by the Finance dude. Stay away from Bell Honda. Unscrupulous dealers have no right to be in business in the current economic environment.coco86351 is blowing the average
by kndf8910 on 11/04/2008Has to be a planted review. As with other reviewers, if I could give these [violative content deleted] a zero, I would. Worst old-school used car sales tactics I've seen in a long time. I couldn't BUY a straight answer from these guys. If… you read these reviews and are STILL insistant on darkening their doorstep, it's your own fault. HOURS of my life i will NEVER get back! I bought a 2005 from them and my wife started getting phone calls begging us to come in for a new one - they 'needed our '05' due to demand. So, after a month of DAILY phone calls, we relented. Then the games began! I'm not cruel enough to go into details. Just suffice to say, I will NOT be returning to Bell Honda. Not even to return my '05. Too many better deals, dealerships, and manufacturers out there.Similar Experience to vsc601's
by hondaowner6 on 05/25/2008Like vsc601's my sales associate was great, and I feel I got a good deal on the basic car. However, I also bought an extended warranty program from the finance person that I was led to believe included tire repair/replacement and paintless… dent repair. Since the term of the extended warranty program was seven years I thought that time period also applied to the tire and dent repair warranties. Wrong. Not only did those two cost $399 a piece, the covered period is only three years. The finance person had mentioned with great glee the fact that there is no right of recission in Arizona so all contract terms are final. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone due to the unscrupulous presentation of add-ons. In fact, I am telling everyone I can of my treatment at this dealership. It's too bad really, since I felt everyone but the finance person displayed some integrity and were nice to work with. Not pleasant
by antim on 05/18/2008The first salesman I talked to was very pleasant. The first manager I talked to was very pleasant. The "deal closer" manager I met next is the reason car dealerships have a bad reputation. He was rude, ill informed and arrogant. I'm… quite used to knowing more about a car I'm looking at than the salespeople who are showing it, but this guy knew less about their own financing than I did. Not that I was talking financing, but he was. I had a internet quote when I walked in and the first salesman said he could probably give 120% over blue book on my trade. A good starting point I thought. I was talking price and trade, he would only talk monthly payment. The stupid high monthly payment figures [violative content deleted] had written down would have covered a car costing 6 thousand dollars more than the one I was looking at. That's not salesmanship, that's just insulting. The first salesman was new and had enthusiastically talked about how they seemed to play less games here than at the last dealership he worked. At the negotiating table the poor guy looked decidedly uncomfortable and more than embarrassed by his crass coworker. "This isn't a mass produced car.", says sales [violative content deleted] "Of course it's a mass produced car.", I was pretty sure the vast majority of cars are. "No, it's not a mass produced car.", says he reveling in his own ignorance. "No? Is it handbuilt by elves?", I'm always curious how these things are done. "There's only twelve of these cars in town and I've got six of them." He lied. Not the little white one, the big bald faced kind. "You mean it's not a high volume car. Yeah, I can see how that would tick off the other 8 plus dealerships in the fifth largest city in the US. Lucky you for having the only six Accord V6 coupes for a metropolitan area of over 4 million people.", I'm edging my way to the door now and the first salesman wants to crawl under a table. I sprint to my car with, "best resale value of any car", fading into the distance. I give Bell Honda 1 out of 5 stars, it's got a beat, but you can't drive to it.Worst expierience ever!!!
by vcs601 on 03/21/2008I recently purchased a new 08 Honda from Bell Honda. While my sales person was good the finance department was horrible. I was rushed thru the paperwork process (it was after 9PM) and I was told about the service package. After weighing the… options vs the price I decided to purchase the package. The next day I was going thru all my paperwork and noticed that items he lead me to believe was in the package was I was actually charged $1000 extra. When I told this to the finance person he told me that as unfortunate and it was only a couple extra dollars! He never explained why I was not told about this and the conversation ended. I have now tried to contact the customer service rep. I have left her 3 messages and have yet to receive a call back. This is a horrible way to do business!!Unfortunately ZERO isn't an option in the review scale
by elinn on 02/29/2008If your time is worth anything to you, don't bother with Bell Honda. I pre-negotiated a deal via email, then drove across town in traffic to find out they wouldn't honor it. First the salesperson said the car I wanted was on the lot but was… getting unwrapped/detailed after being unloaded. Once I turned down their trade-in offer (which was literally half of what I received the next day when i sold it), they claimed the color combo I wanted had to be shipped over from another dealer and would cost $400 more. Strangely enough, this amount was almost exactly the difference between Bell Honda's original quote and the price negotiated via email. The salesperson emailed me after I left to try and defend his actions. He claimed I had asked for a different color via email, but I have all of the email communication showing I never specified a preference ahead of time. The key is to get everything in writing in the email exchange, including the underlying price, the doc fees, the license fee, the sales tax and the out the door price. Then get a VIN #. These documents would hold up in a court of law to support a contract and I can't imagine a dealer would be so stupid as to spend attorney's fees trying to defend against such a certain contract.
greatest experience of all time!!
by coco86351 on 11/02/2007I bought a CRV and in the internet department and the whole transaction did not take 3 hours from start to finish. Heather D. and abe treated me with the upmost respect. I would not go any where else. all the other dealerships are just… a waste of time just go see Heather in fleet. She got me a great interest rate and my credit is a little rough, and I have my new CRV and loving it.Best Service!
by kisaacson on 12/10/2013updated 04/28/2025George H is the best Assistant Service Manager! I have owned several Honda's and I even own a Ford and I will only take my Ford to George at Bell Honda. He always tells me like it is and is honest on what I need to get done now and what can… wait. He always goes above and beyond and by far exceeds any standards that I have ever had with any service shop. He even offers me discounts when it's available! He is down right incredible and I always recommend him to anyone who says they have a vehicle issue. George, keep up the great work and Bell Honda is lucky to have you. I know I am!!!Bait and Switch all the way
by madamdelphi on 01/28/2011updated 04/28/2025Shortly after sending out the email Inquiry on a 2011 Odyssy EX L, I recieved a call from Heather at Bell Honda. She quoted me a price for the vehicle ($250 over invoice, per Costco deal) and agreed to pay the CarMax price for my trade in… which was 1,000 more than what another dealer would give me (21,500). She also said they had at least three of the model I was looking for in three different colors (I told her I did not want white). After driving all the way to the dealership (it was not around the corner), We were told she only had one and it was white. However, she agreed to lower the price even further to encourage me to purchase the color I did not want. We agreed, but when the paperwork came out, all of a sudden they were only giving us 17,500 for the trade and did not lower the vehicle price. The overall amount financed was going to be $5000 more!! I had purchased a vehicle from this dealership in 2003 and had a very poor experience (similar situation, given a quote, then when it came to signing the deal, it suddenly was more expensive). I thought I would give them a chance. NEVER AGAIN. Do not trust this dealer.Dishonest Internet Salesman and Manager
by jimb5107 on 08/26/2012updated 04/28/2025They lured me in with a promise of $25 gift card and high price for my trade-in. When I arrived at the dealer they acted like I was lying. When I said I would pay cash for car they lost interest in the sale. They would not show me how they… arrived at the quote for a new CRV. The next day I called the dealership manager and he never returned my call. I plan to tell Honda about this. It is the worst experience I have had at a Honda dealership.
About our dealership
You can cancel the service package and the extra $1000 will be creditied to your balance through the loan. You will need to have someone go with you when you return to the dealership to do the cancellation paperwork. the greedy finance manager may tell you there is a waiting period and there is nothing of the sort. He tells you this because he will be deducted the commission from his paycheck and probably has plans to quit in a few months before his shady tactics catch up to him.
