Nice salesman, but waited too long and car missing options we were promised
by Redwild1avery on 08/06/2019Reached out to Mark Kia regarding a used 2019 Kia Sorento I found on Carfax. I received a response almost immediately from sales associate Frank. I made an appointment to go in the next day after work to check out the car. Before even… showing the used car I inquired about, he wanted to show me a new Sorento because his boss “needed to make a quota on selling the new models.” We didn’t like the colors and really wanted to stay within our budget with a 4th baby on the way, so we asked to see the one we drove 25 miles in rush hour traffic to see. We liked the used model and he still insisted on getting us a quote on the new model if he could find a color we wanted. 4 quotes and 4 “no thank you, it’s just too much money right now(s)” later he was still pushing the new model. When we finally agreed on a price for a new model (yep, he did his job) he started coming back with “oh wait, it turns out it doesn’t have this option, is this still ok?” And “it has to come from another dealer but it’s only a few miles away.” So 4.5 Hours after arriving, we went to finance, purchased the car met back up with frank thinking we were all set and were told the vehicle still wasn’t there. Frank suggested we go get a bite to eat and he’d call us when the vehicle was ready. We weren’t about to drive all the way home across town, so we tried to stay in the area. 90 minutes later, still no phone call. We drove back to the dealer and were told the car Still wasn’t ready. We waited in the waiting area of the empty dealership, employees singing, vaping their vape pens and just sitting around. Frank walked back out again and said they were washing and detailing the new car and “it turns out it doesn’t have the Shark Fin antenna, so you won’t have Sirius like you wanted ...” at that point my wife who was 7 months pregnant just wanted to go home. It was like the Seinfeld episode where they are at the dealership for-ev-er. It was still another 45+ min before he advised us the vehicle was ready to go. He then advised us the vehicle was missing the floor mats and we’d need to drive back the following week to pick them up. 7 hours total at this dealership and we didn’t exactly leave with what we thought we would. Frank is a polite, nice guy, but had we known we’d be waiting that long for the vehicle, we would’ve made arrangements to go back for it or something else rather than wait that long. If I could go back, I would’ve made sure we had the features we were promised. We really felt frustrated and strung along. Also, the amount of emails I’ve been flooded with after this purchase to push for this review has been ridiculous. But here it is. Frank’s personality and patience is 5 stars, but better communication, a shorter wait time, and having the promised features would’ve made the entire experience rating a 5.Terrible Customer Care
by JennyC on 07/25/2019They used every “add a few hundred” here truck imaginable and I was naive enough to not ask enough questions. I couldn’t get returned calls from any dept, I had to show up to talk with anyone. They were dismissive at best and frequently… rude. It was a terrible experience and I regret purchasing a car from them.A Delightful Experience
by AZDryHeat0362 on 03/12/2019I recently brought my Kia to this dealer in order to have a few items checked out. I was fortunate, nay blessed, to have as my Service Advisor, Johnny Bounds. He was an amazing young man who was courteous, professional, friendly and VERY… knowledgeable on my Kia. Johnny kept me abreast at each stage of the process as I had decided to wait at the dealer for service to be completed. As the process was extended due to new discoveries relating to my original issue, he offered to drive me home so that I did not have to wait. I chose to wait, and Johnny kept me informed as he promised. He even texted me his contact so that I could check in with him instead of walking to the Service Area. I understood everything that was transpiring and the reasons for the extra work and time involved. By the end of my experience Johnny had done the absolute most favorable results for me and my car has not run better. If I could recommend anyone to handle your needs at Mark Kia it would DEFINITELY BE JOHNNY BOUNDS. He single-handedly made my experience a stellar one and it is thanks to him that I am rating Mark Kia as highly as I am!STAY AWAY!!!
by Hhhhhfdfds on 02/08/2019My personal mechanic told me what was wrong with my car when my check engine light came on. Being under warranty I took it to kia dealership. They told me that what my mechanic said wasn't true. A week later my check engine light came on… again and I took it back to kia. They finally confirmed what my mechanic told me in the first place. They wasted my time and money. STAY AWAY!! THEY WILL LIE TO YOU TOO!GO SEE MARK BANKS!!
by Lowesdude on 11/27/2018Went in on a crazy busy Black Friday day but Mark Banks was on point on making a deal happen. He got my wife the vehicle she wanted and for the payment range wanting to be in from the very beginning. Thanks for getting pizza for my little… ones as we waited. Mark Banks is top notch and I am a current Sales manager at my work and he is exactly what a salesman should be. He not only makes it a GREAT car buying experience but makes it a straight forward customer service interaction from beginning to end. Like I said go See Mark Banks if you need a new car or truck!Awful
by Slick_Rick on 11/23/2018The wait time took 8 hours, the negotiated price was not listed in the final paper work. It was an awful experience.Pretty Good But...
by SomeReviewer on 11/27/2018This place is great. They accommodate your wishes and make sure your experience is great. They try to make everything easy and seem willing to put in the extra mile as much as they can. Unfortunately, it happened to be Black Friday and… our experience was a little slow. If they had chosen their estimated time words differently, our expectations wouldnât have been let down. âSoonâ made it seem like 15 minutes but really ended up being 1 hour. Promises of something being done or close to being done shouldnât be taken seriously. Overall, I would say our experience was great but could be better.Great experience
by Buyfrsh on 06/12/2018Everyone st Mark Kia is professional, polite, and courteous. You know youre number one priority when you walk in the door. Just bought my 3rd vehicle from them!Scammy
by Random10 on 05/11/2018I was charged 698 for window tint I didn't want or ask for because 'they put it on all of their vehicles'. In addition to that being a terrible practice, that's a hefty price for window tint. It's also very dark and poses a safety hazard at… night, I can barely see headlights. A 2000 dollar warranty was thrown without anyone asking me or telling me about it, when the fellow ran off what I would be paying for he listed it and I stopped him and asked what warranty and did I have to have that and he seemed annoyed and told me it was part of the deal. I took that to mean it was mandatory but was told by a third party the next day it was ridiculous and spent two days trying to get hold of someone to cancel the warranty. Finally got and signed a cancellation, haven't heard back though. I asked someone on the phone if it was usual practice to tack on an expensive warranty without asking or telling anything about it at all, having no information on it either, he said no. The car is running fine so far, but has internal body damage that wasn't initially apparent. It was my first time buying a car, and I didn't have a car knowlegeable person to take with me, and I feel like I was taken advantage of. Also it seemed like when I was typing my personal info into the computer the salesman was texting it into his phone, don't know what that was about. I tried several times to decline and leave since it was geared up to end up out of my monthly price range, they ended up trying different banks until something was tolerable and gave me a couple hundred more on my trade. But if the unwanted warranty and tint hadn't been tacked on it would have been a lesser loan and better in my price range/credit score. Besides the fact forcing costs on the customer is bad. Very bummed about the experience. One Happy Mom
by TigerMom61 on 05/10/2018I brought my son in to purchase a used car, but that did not turn out as planned. Our Sales Rep Matt Tatge, however, was persistent in helping to solve our dilemma. We ended up choosing to lease a brand new Kia Forte and Matt and his… team were able to come up with a payment plan that I felt my son could comfortably handle and not feel overwhelmed. We are very happy with the patience and kindness that Mark Kia offered us and we will definitely refer family and friends. Thank you! Signed: The Tiger Mom ;)Sales
by Sauceman on 04/04/2018I just want to thank Jose Cruz Velazquez for the great service he provided considering my situation and my purchase of a great Truck. He went out of his way to accommodate me and making this purchase so easy and painless, no surprises just… great service I will definitely keep them at the top of my list when looking to buy another vehicle. Again thank you and Semper Fi Raul B. SaucedoComplete nightmare
by MHanawalt on 03/12/2018Unfortunately, what should have been a simple cash, no trade, purchase turned into a complete nightmare for us. Drove 135 mi, with cash , only to find out this this dealership doesn't actually sell for the advertised price or have the car… you made an appt to see. Explains why they would not give me a total price with tax and docs, over the phone. They managed put us thru 4 hrs of "the game" to justify the several thousand in add ons and fees, before they were able to make me mad enough to leave. I call it being dishonest, they call "normal " and "what all dealers do". I am in my late sixties and I guess honesty and integrity are gone or have a new meaning. Be sure and look thru more of these reviews. You will see the "bait and switch" and "hidden charges and fees" pattern emerge.surprisingly bad experience
by JBAZ2018 on 03/01/2018We had come to Mark Kia many times before, both for sales and service, and always had a very positive experience. Thats what makes our most recent experience so shocking. When we met the sales rep to talk about a car in which we were… very interested (2015 Kia K900), he showed us an initial set of numbers that included over $1,000 in additional charges for window tinting and certifying the car as a CPO vehicle. Since the Mark Kia web sites says no unwanted add-ons, we were surprised. We made an offer that did not include those additional charges, and the sales rep took us into the employees only sales office to talk with two sales managers. We could not reach an agreement (and the two sales managers were very unfriendly, bordering on rude), so we left. During the next 48 hours we continued to communicate with the sales rep, who was very nice, and thought we had an agreement, so we went in on Sunday 2/27 intending to buy the car. When we arrived, the sales rep presented us with a sheet saying we would agree to pay the full asking price, plus $495 for the certification. Although we had gone in expecting to pay less, we wanted the car and so agreed to pay full price, but not the additional $495; we wanted certification included (as the CarFax report on the car said it was, although the Mark Kia web site said the vehicle was CPO eligible). The sales rep took our offer into the sales office, and several minutes later one of the two sales managers we had met two days earlier came back to us, without the sales rep (who had been very pleasant, by the way). Thats when things got ugly. The manager didn't introduce himself; he just said i guys, nice to see you again." He sat down and said "I wanted to explain to you where we are on this deal. We can't drop the price on the car, but we have dropped the price of the certification by $300, to $495. If that's not good, I understand and we just can't make a deal. We said "No, I'm not going to pay that. Then the sales manager (he never revealed his name) said, Then I guess we don't have a deal. Since we wanted the car to be CPO but felt that should be included in the price, we got up to leave. I started to turn around and argue that the web site says no add-ons, but decided against it and said Never mind. We headed down the hallway toward the showroom to leave. The sales manager chased after us, nearly yelling: "Do you guys have any idea what you get when you buy a car from us, besides the car?" His tone was incredibly condescending and angry. My wife turned and said "Look, we are in our late 60's and have bought countless cars. We don't have to be "sold" like that and your tone is offensive to me." He said "I'm just trying to tell you what you get from us -- have you done your research, seen how competitive we are on our pricing? She said, "Of course we have and It's not WHAT you are saying, it is the tone you are using with us. It's offensive." He said "I can be as offensive as I want; you just blew me off (although he was the one who had said "I guess we can't work out a deal.) He added "YOU are the one who is being offensive to ME." At this point, my wife was getting really angry. I said "Ok, let's just talk about the car, but my wife had enough and said to me, "YOU talk to him about the car. I'm not talking to him about anything. I'll be outside. She turned and I left, and as she walked away, the manager raised his voice and said "Are you just going to walk out? I stayed a little longer and said I was sorry if I had offended him by the way we had gotten up to leave. Instead of accepting or even acknowledging the apology, he continued to rant about how offended HE was. I said, Thats it; Im done and walked out. We had come wanting and intending to buy the car. We didnt because of the sales managers insistence on tacking on our paying an add-on of $495, but more important was how he talked to us. If he had been even a little bit nice, we probably would have paid the additional amount too; we really liked the car. Consequently, we drove up to BMW North Scottsdale and bought a very similar K900 with more miles but a lower price and had a very pleasant experience with their very professional sales staff. Well still take our Kias to Mark Kia for service, but in the future well avoid their sales managers.Stay Away from Dishonest Dealer
by sambot on 02/08/2018I will never do business here again. Hidden fees, added on extras that I was not aware of, dishonest salespeople, i still don't have the car and it has been two weeks, and they don't tell you what the final price is of the vehicle is.… This is one of those greasy car dealerships you hear about from your friends... stay awayGimmicks
by Brayden on 02/02/2018The price listed online didn't include the price of "accessories", which added $4K to the price. Back and forth with sales person and manager showed they didn't listen to my price and just wasted my time.2018 Kia Soul+ LOVE THIS CAR
by BlueEyez on 11/28/2017Ive only had this car two days but this is such a fun car to drive!!!!!! I would definitely recommend this car to anyone and they should buy it at Mark Kia. There was no haggling or pressure to purchase. Awesome experience. They were very… professional and patient as I asked to look at several different cars and then decided to purchase the first one I looked at. Great service too. I havent purchased a new vehicle in over a decade so I was nervous about the whole thing but Danny and Peter were very understanding.Great experience at Mark KIA!!!
by TheITGuy858 on 10/15/2017Thanks to Maricella and Jacob for the great experience! Because of them we were able get the vehicle we were looking for that fit within our budget. The vehicles at this dealership are priced very reasonably. The Best Dealer

by Jwchambersjr on 09/04/2017Mark Banks was amazing... got exactly what we wanted and were in and out in a matter of a couple hours.Treated us like royalty
by garliclady55 on 08/17/2017We were looking for a pre-owned Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie; tore up the I-net until we found just the right one at Mark Kia. We drove from Kingman (AZ) to Scottsdale (AZ) - over 200 miles away and 4 hr drive one way. Frank Cruckson met us at… the door and was stellar from the get-go. He was relatively new to Mark Kia so Peter Meyerhoff, Assistant Sales Manager, also helped us by answering all the questions Frank was unsure of. Peter worked tirelessly to get us just the right financing. He also arranged to have running boards installed on the truck, for which we made a return visit 6 weeks later. Jacob Delaney met with us for that visit and once again we were treated like royalty. A few hours later we were back on the road headed for home. Both visits impressed the heck out of us - Mark Kia was busy, busy, busy - not just their service department but their sales office was buzzing as well. Everyone we spoke with at the dealership was courteous, respectful, polite, knowledgeable, accommodating, and helpful. If we lived closer, we would make Mark Kia our 'signature' dealership. Thank you, thank you!Wost service department ever
