Very rude and unprofessional sales team
by Sattar Taheri on 12/15/2020To be brief: 1- Avoid Bob Smith BMW, they are rude and useless! 2- Go to Center BMW, they are professional and helpful! Asking why? read below. My wife and I had decided to purchase a 530 we had seen elsewhere. Before heading out, a… friend (who is also looking for a 5 series) pointed out three 540i options available at Bob Smith. We said fine, let's go there and check. We tested the first one, and man we loved it! So, already decided to check the two others to choose the one with cleaner interior and smoother drive. As soon as we sat in the SECOND car, the sale manager, Alex Rustamov, yelled at us: "GUYS YOU CANNOT DRIVE EVERY SINGLE CAR!" Really?? Who buys a car without test-driving? Is 2-3 cars "every single car?" After explaining, he allowed us a "few minutes" to test a second one. But not anymore! He said because he pays the person who accompanies us for test drive. (Surprise, surprise!) We had a short conversation on prices, but long story short, we didn't even waste more time and went directly to Center BMW in Van Nuys. It was around 5:00pm on a Sunday then. They were nice enough to allow us to test-drive the one we had chosen (for a second time, just for a peace of mind) and were super nice to stay OVERTIME a couple of hours to finalize the sale and finance process. We drove home happily with a beautiful car! At Center BMW, staff were helpful and professional. They spent quite a bit of time to adjust price and rate to help us out and to make the buying experience easy for us. Highly recommended! Thinking of what happed at Bob Smith, I am seriously wondering who gave the guy 'Alex Rustamov' his job!! We faced the rudest and the most unprofessional sales manager ever. He basically lost clients who had already made their mind to purchase. And also lost a potential client! I can imagine not all staff at Bob Smith are like him. Otherwise the dealership would have gone out of business already! I already shared the story with close friends/colleagues. I am writing this review so that any future client knows there are far better BMW dealerships with staff who not only know how to talk like a human being, but also exceed expectations in meeting customer needs.Great experience
by pershiek on 05/15/2019Christy Galino and Nasir Kahn took great care of me. I test drive with Christy, she was very knowledgeable and there was no sales pressure. They didn't have exactly what I wanted and Nasir said he would do his best to find it. Well Matt… Smith not only found what I wanted, it had the MSport trim which was an added bonus. I came back a week or so later, crunched the numbers with Nasir and again, no pushy sales technique. I went home a few hours later with a new car. I'm very happy and I know this location will take good care of me with my future service needs.Scammy and unethical sales practices. Poor customer service
by george_a on 04/19/2019I purchased about 11 months ago a BMW i3 certified pre-owned at your Calabasas location. My experience has not been the best, so I will explain beyond my review and hopefully you can fix these issues for current and future customers. Do NOT… try to send me this canned email about me not understanding the terms, it's an insult! I purchased a BMW i3, first I mention I did not want the car theft stickers, but you have to pay a ton of money for those. I asked him about the warranty, service, etc. Everything worked out perfect, but I figured out quickly that was not the case. Your sales rep mentioned they were working on painting it before I got the recently purchased preowned car, I asked him to please not rush it. The problem is that, itâs exactly what happened, the car was not ready to be sold. It was rushed through the painting process, the color did not match, but your sales rep continued to say he thought it was the same, probably the sun. I still believe that was not the case. I brought it back about the color, he said it was the sun, so I let it go. The cleaning process, when I purchased the car I got the car dirty inside, brought it back after I mentioned it to your sales rep that I received it dirty and he said to come back for detailing, I got it back and it was exactly the same, dirty. The problem is that now I see a scratch that probably happened during the detailing or I did not see before I signed off the contract. I park in my own private space, but I trusted your sales rep since he said the car had been painted to meet your dealerâs standards, so I did not I immediately inspect the car. When I got the car the first time, it was parked in a curb facing down and I was not able to fully inspect either. So when I called your sales rep about the scratch, he made it seem like, oh, you can probably buy some paint to cover the scratch (which I did buy and I was advised by an expert not to do so). But yes, I was not careful enough to make sure no scratches were left out from painting it initially or after the detailing. Another issue, I didnât know that my license plates were already behind the car hidden behind a paper. I was not told, so I ended up waiting 6 months, and I ended up going to the DMV for new license plates, and while putting them in, I found that it already had license plates. Then I figure out that it does not have a license plate holder or holes in the front. It is illegal in California to drive without license plates in the front. I contacted Your sales rep and he said they âusuallyâ do it for free, today when I went for my appointment Iâm told it would be free but I would have to pay $100 for the part if it was not initially left in my trunk. Your sales rep should have told me that. Every car I have purchased I make sure it includes an extended warranty and a regular maintenance package like oil changes, etc. for around four years. My previous car had the same type of service plan. I asked your sales rep if it included service, I was comparing to the deal I got at another dealer. I was clear about it and he said yes and you Catherine are assuming I misunderstood my warrant terms, that is unbelievably an insult and poor customer service from your part to post that online, it is a lie. So I met with my advisor, after I got an orange warning engine light. He tells me that BMW i3s have had this issue from the beginning. That he has had a car come in 3 times with the orange engine light. That the reason for the issue is the extender. Why was I not told this before I purchased this car??? I also get the surprise that really got me upset, that my 4 years do not include oil changes, microfilters, etc. because service maintenance is NOT transferable from the previous owner. I am in shock, now I have to give your dealership approximately $1,000 every year for maintenance? This is unacceptable and I am now in the middle of a bad situation.Dont go anywhere else for your BMW

Everyone at Bob Smith is incredible to work with, no pressure sales and take a different approach to getting… you in the right car for you and your family. Ask for Wayne Lewis! He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and so easy going. This is the 3rd car I bought a Bob Smith and i live in Northern California. I flew down to purchase here because they are so amazing. They even have a product specialist to show you how the new car works and will spend as much time as you need helping you get it all dialed in.ANOTHER OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE

I have no doubt that the deal I got on my new 540i was far better than I would have received… elsewhere and I recommend this dealership without reservation. Customers can trust them and they are always treated with respect as their business is truly appreciated. Overall, a fantastic experience!Malik Ali was awesome!

Very quickly he identified what we wanted, we were out test driving and talking numbers. The willingness to do business but yet… low pressure approach was unmatched. As you know many dealerships have an aggressive nature that simply is a turn off. We really appreciate Malik getting us a great deal on our new car, the transition out of our old one and the tutorial on all the cool new features are vehicle has now. We would recommend Bob Smith and Malik to anyone who wants to deal with a professional, courteous and knowledgeable brand. I leased a corporate pre-leased 6 series from them and I was assured the car was fully inspected (sales BS) during the test drive where i brought up hearing a rattling noise with the car. To… which the salesman said he cannot hear and its not there. Made an appt with a closeby dealer to find out that the rear strut is bad and leaking oil. the noise was confirmed by the foreman during a test drive. Since the strut is not available in the US, it has to be shipped from Germany and i have to go back again. Foreman also discovered there is an issue with the passenger side sear air bag and i had to leave the car there for 5 days. I have to take the car again once the parts arrive. For getting an almost new car (7K miles) that as supposed to be tested, i shouldn't be spending time at the service dept and going back and forth this soon (first week).i sent an email to the salesman, internet sales manager and ops manage ... no responseService contract promised but not delivered

During the sales pitch, I remember the salesman specifically talk about throwing in a BMW care plan for free that would cover the cost of oil changes, brakes, etc. until Nov 2019. So I accepted the… deal and leased the car. Recently when I went back to the dealership to have my car serviced they told me that the protection plan was never transferred to my name and that my car has no such protection! When I tried to explain the situation, they gave me the topical answers "Who told you that?", "What was the name of the salesman?", etc.etc. Unfortunately for me that person no longer works that so I could prove my point. So now I'm stuck with no protection plan which was promised to me at the time of the sale!!! Needless to say, I'm extremely upset about it and not sure what to do.We're concerned about your experience and we would like to clarify your concerns. A 5 Star Experience at BOB SMITH is like no other!

I have a BMW dealer by my home and they were not as educated about the vehicles and the company… BMW, so I went over to BOB SMITH in Calabasas, and boy what a difference that made. I met with the Sales Manager NASIR KHAN and he was outstanding. He was able to work with me and find a vehicle that catered to my needs and that I absolutely fell in love with. NASIR made sure my experience was everything I needed to ensure that BMW was the right choice for me. NASIR sent me on a test drive with one of his workers Cristy. She was very knowledgeable about the vehicle that I was purchasing and went through all of the vehicles features without reading from a script. Mark Medrano, my sales person, was extremely helpful from the first visit until I drove off the lot. Marc's advise and negotiating ability was outstanding always… keeping my needs as high priority. Everything went smoothly until the car salesman Campbell told myself and my fiance to wait outside after signing our brand new contract. We understand that they were seconds away from… closing but we were pretty disgusted at how we as money paying clients were handled. Wouldn't come here again. His patience and sense of humor made the day fly by! And Amir Zaratshoa in Finance gave me time to understand the… details of my lease, fine tuning exactly what I wanted and structuring it in a way that made me comfortable. These guys made it a pleasure to lease a car! And if youre lookimg at executive demos, Bob Smith seems to know how to find well equipped demo vehicles and turn them around at a great price!
