by FPPC on 08/16/2014Just purchased a second MINI in the past few months, this one a new 2014 Hardtop S with toys. J.C. R. must have a heart of gold and patience overflowing ass we put him through the ringer. Our first MINI was a 2013 certified Clubman S we… bought and it just immediately spoke to us so J.C. had it easy. This one was for my wife since the first Mini I bought for her became mine on the drive home. J.C. R. has spent many hours on the phone, on roadtests and searching the earth for the perfect car to give my darling wife. At last he found one and before it arrived at the dealer a gorgeous HT S miraculously appeared that screamed out to my wife to take it home, we did. Every moment we have spent with 2 purchases has been pleasant. Not once did we feel as if we were even at a car dealership and anyone who has purchased a car at the dealer knows it takes all day. Smiles are everywhere and the atmosphere one of relax and kick back, we can't wait until it's time to replace one of our new toys! Bob Smith MINI is the only place we will go and J.C. R. will forever be our go to sales "friend".Buying a Car

by kimraces on 06/30/2010SImply the worst. I went in, test drove the cutest Mini Cooper S Convertible, loved it. The sticker was $34,700.00. Robert, the best car salesman I have ever met, said the price was FIRM, they don't come down a penny because they don't have… to, and they won't ever, not even a penny. So because I loved the car, SOLD! Now they have my email address. So, I get the email, JUNE MINI SPECIAL ~ through June 30th, from sales manager IAN SIMMS, the JUNE SPECIAL ,YEP, you guessed it is: ONLY THE MINI COOPER CONVERTIBLE IS ON SALE! $2000 off ANY MINI COOPER CONVERTIBLE UNTIL JUNE 30th, 2010!!!! So of course I call, email and no response from Ian Simms or anyone at Bob Smith (still nothing after two weeks), MINI USA Corporate responded, and said that was unacceptable and they were going to call and ask IAN SIMMS of BOB SMITH MINI to honor that and give me my discount. IAN SIMMS REFUSED! MINI USA is filing a complaint against BOB SMITH MINI. They are an independent dealer so Mini USA cannot force them to do anything. I am going ahead with legal advice and pursuing it further. So far no word from IAN SIMMS ~ oh OOPSY ~ Yes IAN SIMMS just sent me another email, aksing for my SALES EXPERIENCE AT MINI!? Seriously? Well I am pasting below what I am sending them. Not that they will care at all. BUT BEWARE ~ THEY LIE. They cheated me and they will cheat you too. #2 While Robert was wonderful at selling the car to me, he obviously was lied to by you Ian and Bob Smith and in turn lied to me. Robert told be that the sticker price of $34,700.00 was the absolute FIRM PRICE, not a penny less because BOB SMITH MINI DOES NOT DISCOUNT THE CONVERTIBLE MINI EVER, NOT A PENNY. I received an email from you IAN, with a $2000 discount ON ANY MINI CONVERTIBLE THROUGH THE END OF JUNE, JUNE 30th 2010. I am pursuing legal advice as well as having contacted Nick at Mini USA who is filing a complaint with MINi USA against your dealership. I will also be telling everyone, and anyone who is interested how you IAN and BOB SMITH DO BUSINESS. You should be ashamed of yourself. I am going to post it on my Facebook and every other internet area I can find. #6 Completely UNACCEPTABLE. Even MINI USA is in disbelief at your handling of my purchase. They are standing right behind me on this, for your information, they filed the complaint against your dealership. #8 II WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE $2000 month of June discount on Mini Convertibles for the month of June ending on JUNE 30th 2010, which is when I bought my Mini. Hmmmmmm I would love to see the owner of the dealership, who doesn't discount Mini Coopers ever, when he found out that all by your little self, Ian decided to discount a car that doesn't get a discount, not even a penny ever!? In fact RoBERT CLEARLY TOLD US THAT YOU NEVER DISCOUNT THESE CARS, EVER! Well, well. #11 NEVER #14 Oh it was distinct and unique, if you think that feeling bamboozled is a nice thing. You obviously do not give hoot what anyone thinks. The nerve to send me that email with a Month of JUNE $2000 discount on ANY MINI CONVERTIBLE, only on the CAR I BOUGHT and then say it is not applicable to my Mini Convertible. Despicable, insulting, and a slap in the face. Is there anything else you'd like to expand on? Suggestions, praise, or a story about your new MINI? Absolutely disgusted by you Ian, and the dealership. I have to come in there for the next six years for service, because I bought your 100,000 extended plan. I will be sure to tell everyone I see to make sure there are no discounts coming in their email while I wait, and make sure to tell everyone what my experience has been like. HORRIBLE. You Ian have a lot to learn about how to run a business, how to handle customer service and how to deal with people in general. i am not going anywhere. I will be around. And I will continue to let people know how horrible you have been. Be sure that MINI USA Corporate Office is not at all pleased with your behavior inWorst Experience EVER
by cetrulo on 09/29/2009I have tried TWICE to buy a mini cooper from Bob Smith in Calabassas. I can say that the sales rep was completely unhelpful, did not return phone calls and was extremely condescending. She also acted like the fact that they promise a… loaner if you buy a car from them is not only (a) not matched by other mini dealers but also (b) worth the THOUSANDS more that Bob Smith will charge for the car. I mean really. A rental would be cheaper. When I tried to negotiate AT ALL, I was told basically good luck finding a better deal. Well, I did. By over $2000.00, a car with more options AND a loaner when I bring it in for service. To cap this whole extremely unpleasant experience off, I received a horribly insulting and derogatory phone call from the salesgirl after I had purchased a car elsewhere. Bob Smith will never get any of my business in any way and I will be telling everyone I know about this experience.Best Sales Dept

I drove 97 miles away and bought a 2012 countryman S and Loving it every… moment.....thanks Bob Smith MiniLove my Countryman!

My salesman, Garrett had only been with Mini for three weeks, but he was great. There were a few… things he was uncertain about, but he was polite and honest. We also spoke with Kirsten and Richard who were very helpful and professional. I know after a month or so, Garrett will be there number one guy! He has a sweet disposition and he truly wanted us to be happy. The only reason I am giving my review four stars is because we were there for four hours! It wasn't anyone's fault, it just took a long time to get everything finalized. Without hesitation, I would absolutley recommend Bob Smith Mini.highly recommend

The financial part was handled online very quickly. They sent me a worksheet listing all the… options on the various models along with the MSRP. I researched the invoice price online, made them an offer about 5% above the invoice price (not counting the destination charge) and they accepted it. Very clean and easy.Kirsten is the best!

I had a car accident and my old ride was totaled. She got me into a Clubman John Cooper Works… and I am IN LOVE with my car! The finance guy was a doll too. I have concierge service that is just amazing! I will tell everyone, if you want a MINI.....go to Bob Smith and make sure to see Kirsten!Excellent Internet Department

I sent an email late Friday evening with an offer and received a reply very quickly, saying that they could match my offer. I sent an email confirming their offer and that I'd drive… up the next morning. They contacted me on the phone Saturday morning making sure I wanted the car and how I was going to finance the vehicle. When I arrived I was immediately greeted by JC, the Internet Manager. He was very professional and quite the comedian. The car was in excellent condition. JC mentioned that they only sell used cars that are in exceptional condition. We took a test drive within 5 minutes of my arrival. When we got back to the dealership, which was beautiful I might add, we began compiling and signing my paperwork. While I waited, I was offered coffee and water. The whole process from test drive to driving off the lot was about an hour and a half. JC helped make the entire purchasing experience enjoyable. The whole team that assisted in the purchase my vehicle provided excellent customer service.
About our dealership
After I replied to the service survey I was IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED by the General Sales Manager and General Manager who apologized and we had an understanding. There was quite a bit of miscommunication at Bob Smith Mini. After our conversation we worked out an amiable situation that made me happy and also helped them to understand what went wrong. It also helped them to work out a few glitches in their system. As it turns out it was a mistake that the email was sent to me. I have to say that Catherine Smith is a wonderful business woman. She admitted to their mistakes and listened attentively to my concerns. Catherine was open to hearing the truth and took steps to make me feel comfortable. I would be happy to recommend buying a car at Bob Smith Mini or BMW. Especially because of Catherine, who made every effort to correct the wrongs done. Of course it would be better if this never happened, but I am confident that nothing like that will happen again, not while Catherine Smith is at the helm. So go to Bob Smith BMW or Mini and rest assured that you will be taken care of. It is a family run business and they are very concerned that the customer is happy! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DEALER. They do the right thing!
