Not only were we pleased with Theodore Robins Dealership, but our sales person, Courtney C. was terrific. She was very helpful, and worked to take care of us. I would come back again to purchase another car or truck from Courtney anytime. We could tell that Courtney really enjoys her job. It was nice to work with her!!
  • Thank you Theodore Robins Ford!

If you're looking for a car in the OC do yourself a favor and go to Theodore Robins Ford in Costa Mesa. I just leased a new 2014 Ford Edge from Courtney C. in internet sales. I could not be more satisfied. TRF exceeded all of my expectations and all of my requests were met. I love my new edge. It is by far my favorite vehicle I've ever owned, and I've owned Hondas, VWs and an Audi. I'll be sticking with Fords and won't consider going anywhere but Thedore Robins Ford.

I used to use this dealership for the service of my Ford vehicles until they messed up on a simple tire rotation and oil change a couple of years ago. Then this last week I decided to give them another chance, so I drop off my wife's 2007 Escape Hybrid early in the morning. I ask them to perform a minor service, tire rotation and break check and at the same time diagnose a couple of noises one being the blender door of the air conditioner which I told the service advisor about and another unknown noise coming from the passenger side of the vehicle. The sound either comes from under the dash or the door. By noon that day, since I have not heard from them, I figure I will give them a quick call and see what the progress is. The service advisor did not answer the phone so I left him a message. A couple of hours gone by, no return call. So I call again and was told that they are back up and will not be able to get to my vehicle till the next day. So I grudgingly agree to leave the vehicle till the next day. So, Saturday morning come and go but no call. I left two more messages with the service advisor with an hour in between but still no call back. Finally I called and ask for the service manager and someone answer the phone and he said he will found out what happen and oh by the way your service advisor is off today. Wow, thanks for letting me know! By the end of the day it is appearance that my vehicle is not going to be work on so ok, I will leave the car till Monday. I thought they should be able to get to it first thing in the morning. Wrong, Monday mid day I still have not heard back from them on progress. I left two more messages with the service advisor and since now it is three in the afternoon, I finally call and ask for service manager again. This time someone else answer as the service manager, different than the one on Saturday. “Oh I am on it right now and I will call you back”, I said no thank you; I am on my way to pick up my vehicle now. So, now the service advisor finally call me back and said oh we will have the shop foreman take a drive right now and let you know. Well what have they been doing for three day? After three working days with my vehicle at the dealership they are just now taking it for a drive? When I show up to pick up the vehicle, they were all surprise that I am not happy about the whole thing. Am I wrong? Never again!

I first did my research on the internet and finally settled on the Ford Explorer XLT. Then we went to Theodore Robins after making an appointment with Courtney C. We expected to be there for hours on end and haggling the whole time. Instead, we were there for only an hour and a half, no haggling. We stated what we were looking for and while we were doing that, they were already washing the vehicle for us. It only took minutes to reach an agreeable price, the rest of the time was spent on comfortable conversation. Courtney made the whole experience of buying my first ever owned Ford a pleasurable experience. Anyone looking for a new car should not only come to Theodore Robins, but request Courtney C. as there sales representative. She is a wonderful person.
  • Typical Bait & Switch, Haggling old school way of buying a car

At first Robins Ford looked and sounded like a 21st century dealership when dealing with internet customers from Edmunds. The internet manager was quick and responsive in giving me quotes and financing info. But this all changed when I stepped into the dealership. This is a family run dealership (Robins last name). I was dealing with the daughter of the owner. Although we had been emailing back and forth for several weeks about pricing and discussion of a Ford Edge, she took 15 seconds to shake my hand then hand me off to a schlub salesmen. After the test drive, the salesperson took me through the ringer of the typical buying process such as "asking my manager" about information that was already provided to me yet couldn't be confirmed by the floor manager. Everything the internet/fleet manager wasn't taken into consideration. I was provided a wrong money factor quote and asked for the correct one. After an hour of waiting they still couldn't provide me with what the money factor was. I ended up threatening to walk out which caused the floor manager to intervene from his podium. Again, the owner's daughter/fleet/internet manager didn't even come out to deal with me although I had dealt with her before. I would avoid this dealership. I ended not buying a Ford because of my experience with this place. Wouldn't recommend it. You would only waste your time and energy dealing with them.

I don't know where to even begin. I had to deal with 3 different salesman. So I never felt that I developed any kind of a rapport. I was pressured from the time I walked in and all I wanted to do was take a test drive. The vehicle I was interested in was $1500. cheaper at another local dealer. I would never buy a car at this dealership and would never recommend buying a car at this dealership.
