  • SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS A MONEY GRAB

    On Tuesday, September 3rd, I brought my sons car in around 5:30 pm because the car started overheating. On Wednesday, I was contacted and informed the car needed a new radiator and hoses. We agreed to have the work done and an oil change… which came up to $2,382.00. We picked the car up on Thursday. On Friday, my son attempted to drive to work from Fontana to Bloomington when the car started overheating. I dropped the car back off at the dealership on Saturday morning. Come Monday at noon, I had not heard anything from the dealership and called to find out what was going on. I was informed my advisor was unavailable and to leave a message. My advisor called me back about an hour later and informed me that the water pump needs to be replaced which will cost me an additional $1,000.00 plus. I bring my cars to the dealership because these are supposed to be certified technicians and prior to doing any work they do a complete assessment to determine the repairs needed. Now I'm left wandering if I truly needed a radiator or just the water pump. I am very dissatisfied with the level of service and the cost for the repairs. At this point how do I know the water pump is going to solve the problem. Will I be back in a few days with the same issues. For this level of service, I feel like I could have used any mechanic. Beware before using!!!!!

    My experience was good, Jabari was straightforward and willing to talk to me through text and over the phone so I didn’t have to go in until actually purchasing the car. The only downside is that they sold me the car without the mats,… saying they didn’t have them in yet. Hopefully they come in soon!

  • Not a good service experience

    The entire experience was horrible. The parts delay was understandable, but the day by day delay because they wanted to make sure they were doing a good job seems to have been an excuse for mistakes made. I was even told the last minute… delay for completion was due to the tech pinching a line while performing repairs. The worst part of it all, after all the delays, was getting home to smoke coming out of the engine bay and then seeing the airbox completely dismounted and loose to move around while driving. I called back to relay my concerns and was invited back for a look. Because of experience I did not go back, I do not feel comfortable letting them repair anything else on my car. I will not be returning.

    • Called in on 9/29 to speak to Armando, the general manager. Did not answer so I left a message. It is now 10/01 and I have not received a call back. Car is now leaking coolant around the area they performed repairs. Service did not offer to have car towed in. They ask that I drive the car in to see what is wrong. What an amazing experience.

    I was in a predicament. BMW was slow to get me my title after I paid off my lease. I had to trade-in the BMW fast or pay taxes to the DMV in the lease pay-off. Rotolo Chevrolet in Fontana made a top-dollar offer on my BMW and had a form… for me to replace the title that BMW lost, without having to delay. By text Rotolo let me know what range I was in. Once I arrived Rotolo didn't screw around and offered near the best that I had for the BMW, with no delays. Rotolo fairly valued my the trade-in. Rotolo had the car we wanted without added markups, "coatings" or other tricks. Rotolo had the real extra on the Riverside Malibu RS of all-weather floor mats and trunk liner, which are impressively high quality. All we ask is for a fair deal. When we own a car - like I did after I paid off my BMW 230i lease - we're not asking for much, really. We know what it's worth. We look it up - on Blackbook, on KBB. We know. So when other dealers low balled, we knew. Rotolo Chevrolet made it easy. Rotolo has a few advantages over other dealers in the area. They're a high-volume dealer with a lot of product on hand. Thanks to Moses in Internet sales at Rotolo Chevrolet, who emphasizes customer service. Thanks to the finance guy Willy Lopez who made the paperwork painless.

    Had a 10:30am appointment to diagnose a speaker, after 3 HRS waiting I was told that they will need another 2HRS to get to my car. So having to wait for 5HRS it is unacceptable, I mean I didn’t just walked in, I had an appointment. Now you… tell me how would you rate such a bad experience. ez

  • Worst Experience Ever

    I originally brought my vehicle for an electrical charging issue. I was told the problem was identified and corrected at a cost of roughly $1,200 to replace a battery and some cable. The vehicle was given back to me and the problem… persisted. I brought it back and asked that the issue be re-evaluated. I brought it back on a Friday and was asked if I would mind leaving it for a day or two as it may take some extra review. I told them "no problem" as I was going out of town and wouldn't be back until Wednesday afternoon BUT I would abosutely need it for Thursday. I never heard from them until I called Wednesday morning to check on the vehicle being ready. At that time the service representative had no information and gave me the impression that he didn't even remember my vehicle. He told me he would have to check with the technician and he would call me right back. I never heard from him again. I strongly suspect that my car was simply forgotten about and NOTHING had been done with it since I dropped it off. I was unable to reach ANYONE at the dealership effectively so I ended up coming down to the dealership Wednesday evening to inquire. The service representative still seemed to have no idea what was going on with my vehicle but went and got the technician. The technician seemed annoyed that they had to speak with me and then proceeded to argue with me saying there was nothing wrong with my car. It was clear he was on his way home and just wanted to get rid of me so he could leave. He complained to me about the equipment he had to use to diagnose the problem and stated the dealership has a real problem with key control so that somehow complicated his service. Eventually we decided to just take the vehicle (since the technician insisted it was fine and we were mistaken) because we needed it the next morning but as the service rep brought it out to us the "check engine" light came on while he was driving it. That had never happened before and was a new symptom. We agreed to leave it longer since we didn't feel safe using it the next day and made other arrangements for the critical transportation we needed the vehicle for on Thursday. No offer of a rental or loaner was made even though we made it clear we needed the vehicle on Thursday several times. The rep said they would figure out the issue and contact me the next morning after the tech had a chance to look at it. The service rep contacted me the next day to say that there was a component failing on the vehicle and it would cost roughly $900 to replace it once the part came in. He said the part might come in as early as tomorrow (Friday) and he would let me know if it came in on Friday. I never heard from him (as usual) so I attempted to call his personal cell phone on Monday morning but it went to a voicemail that wasn't set up. I then called the dealership and after several tries actually got to speak with someone who told me they would have my service rep contact me ASAP. I told them I didn't care to speak to my service rep as he was a proven liar and I wanted to speak with the Service Manager. I was then transferred to a Gilberto's (I believe that was name) voicemail where I left a rather snarky message given how horrible my customer service experience had been thus far and that they had failed to fix the problem originally and were going to charge me twice for the same repair issue. I specifically stated I wanted to hear back from this "Gilberto" although I didn't expect to since it was clear their organization didn't value customer service. As expected I still to this day have never heard back from Gilberto to follow up on my experience/complaints about his service rep and technician. Not suprised! Shortly after leaving that message however I did recieve a call from my service rep claiming he was with another customer when I called earlier, no explanation for why his voicemail wasn't set up so I could at least leave a message however, and when I expressed my disatisifaction with his repeated communication failure he argued with me about whether or not he told me he would call me on Friday. I told him he specifically told me the part "might" come in Friday and that he would call me to let me know and he claimed he never said that and that he told me that the part wouldn't be in until Monday and he would call me when the car was ready Monday afternoon. I specifically remember what was said, as does my wife who was listening to our initial conversation. He told me my car would be ready later that day. I was contacted that the car was ready and went later that evening to pick it up. When I did no one apologized or even mentioned that my vehicle had been in their service department for roughly 10 days for an issue they had falsely claimed they had repaired previously. Nothing. Never heard from Gilberto or anyone from the dealership. Quite possibly the worst customer service experience I have ever had and I will never bring a vehicle for service and certainly won't ever buy a vehicle from Rotolo Chevrolet. I will make sure every person I talk to about this knows how horrible my experience was. I am amazed you sent me this satisfaction survey (I know it must be automated) because no one at the dealership cared about my experience so why should you start now.

  • Misleading information

    I purchased my truck last month. I was told that by the following week I would have the mats and steps installed. It’s now been a month and still they don’t have them. I think that they need to be honest and clear that it will take longer… to get these things in rather than not being truthful. Also they have not made any attempt to let inform we of any status updates. When I call they just keep saying that I need to wait.

    I took my 2015 Chevrolet Malibu in to the dealer. the charging system was failing. I checked the alternator and front and back batteries prior to taking the car in for service so I knew that the alternator was failing and that both… batteries where good. I took the car in and told them that I had a extended warranty on the car and that I wanted the insurance to cover it and that I didn’t want to pay anything out of pocket. It was my mistake by telling them that. They called me the next day and told me that the back battery was no good and that the vehicle needed a catalytic program upgrade and also told me that the insurance didn’t cover those two items. I asked him what a catalytic converter had to do with the charging system and also told him that the back battery was good and that I had recently checked it. He told me that they are specialists and that that’s what the issues were and that it would be four hundred dollars to fix the problems. I said okay I really just wanted my car back. I picked up my car and the following day the check engine light came on again and the same problem occurred. I took the car back and they said they there would be no charge that they would have took care of it. They call me back saying that it’s the alternator and that they were going to have to have my insurance pay for it. These people are professional thief’s and to top it off the mount that holds the plastic bottom on which the air filter rests on was broken now when my car automatically stops it rattles horrrible service and they’re thief’s at the rotolo Chevrolet of Fontana. I won’t be taking my car to them ever again.

    Everyone I came in contact with was extremely nice. I had the pleasure of dealing with Danielle, Internet Mgr. She showed me the vehicle I was interested in, the Equinox, explained at the features and answered all my questions. She was… extremely patient with me and never once pushed me to do anything. The deal was awesome! Dealing with Rotolo Cheverolet was the best buying experience I have ever had. If you are looking for a Chevy, this is definitely the dealership you want to go to.   • Disturbing Experience

    We experienced the worse treatment we've ever encountered by any dealership at this location on 05/15/2016 at about 5:00pm. After having visited a different Chevrolet dealership, we called and spoke to "Chevy Evy." We told him the price… point we were looking for, the vehicle and trim type, credit status, etc. He guaranteed, before us making the trek out there, that they for sure had multiples of the model and of the trim we were looking for. Also that they would definitely be able to do pricing we asked for, to come in and get it. Upon arriving we were shown a large selection and chose to lease it in either white or grey by Moses. After heading into the dealership, we were told that none of those were for sale actually. They only had one for sale in the make and trim we went there for but in green. However, they could have a white or grey one sent over from an undisclosed location which we agreed to. Then what ensued was totally bewildering. A sales manager named Lorenzo came over to tell us that they can't actually give us that pricing either. What was confusing was his demeanor, he was so hostile and unprofessional when it was completely uncalled for. We had never met this man before and wasn't sure why he was so agitated. We asked to speak to "Chevy Evy" as that's who told us otherwise which furthered angered Lorenzo. We were asked what deal the other dealership offered us and when my spouse tried to respond he was cut off multiple times with Lorenzo shouting. We stated that we would like gap insurance with the lease. Lorenzo was the yelling, with "Chevy Evy" and Moses quietly standing there letting this man berate on us. Lorenzo yelled, "You don't need Gap insurance!! No one uses that!" My spouse again tried saying that no we do want that because we've had to use it twice in the past when cars were totaled. Which Lorenzo followed with, "YOU don't know what you're talking about!!" At that point we stood up and said we were leaving. He aggressively jumped up and towards my spouse, like he was physically going to do something while flinging his hands and arms around. We left, I was concerned for our safety. There were no apologies for falsely guaranteeing what they had and their pricing or for allowing their employee to verbally attack us and nearly physically attack us. I wonder how many customers they lose daily because of this scary behavior. When the situation happened, the manager stood quietly by like this wasn't abnormal or unusual. Perhaps this is their way to bully people into sales but it's a tactic that quite literally scared us off. I am also concerned that they have our personal information. We ended up going to Chevrolet of Montebello who were confused why Rotolo had such a problem with the pricing. They were also knowledgeable on the make of car and incentives Chevrolet is offering along with rebates. ALL the staff were friendly and efficient. We left with the car we had sought out for and pricing only $1 off from what we had asked for. Good thing we decided to give Chevrolet one last chance. Save yourself the headache- go to Montebello.

  • Great first buying experience

    Wanda made it a great buying experience from start to finish. She met us one day when we were getting our Tahoe serviced. She took her time and didn't push, just listened. When the vehicle we were interested in came in a couple months… later, she called and we test drove it. It turned out not to be what we really wanted, she again listened and found what we were looking for., We came down and she helped us every step of the way, overcoming some obstacles that she handled in stride and like it was her personal mission to make my son's first vehicle purchase go smoothly. She did and she's the reason I'm giving Rotolo 5 stars.
