Deplorable Dealership - Shady Sales Team.
by AToyota on 05/26/2017ZERO STARS.......... Below was a recap of my experience with this deplorable dealership and shady sales team the other day. CAUTION - SUPER SHADY SALES TEAM! So much for the no haggle, no hassle Costco Auto Program / Internet sales /… Fleet Sales..... DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! TOTAL [non-permissible content removed], GAMES, RIPOFFS and utter DISGRACE to Toyota's name. STAY FAR AWAY FROM Toyota Place! Without my consent or knowledge they stole my vehicle registration out of my glovebox while they were inspecting my car for a possible trade in. It was like they were holding my vehicle registration for ransom just to get me back in the door to try to sell me a car. Not one person called me after I left that day and said hey we made a mistake and we have your registration please come back in and pick it up. Unfortunately not until later that day I noticed it was even missing. I called that next day and the sales guy Ken I was working with was out so I spoke to another sales manager guy named Primo. I explained to Primo that Ken or one of their guys took my vehicle registration without my knowledge, consent or permission. Primo said that they wouldn’t do something like that but he would go look at Ken’s desk to see maybe if it was there. He come back to the phone and said that nothing was on Ken's desk but If they find it they can mail it to me or or something... or I can just call Ken tomorrow and ask him. I said please take my phone number and have Ken call me first thing when he gets in. What a total LIE....Primo lied to me over the phone and said he never saw it or had it. In the mean time....I had to then waste my time and go down to the DMV and pay $20 dollars for a replacement vehicle registration. The next day comes around and surprise no call from anyone at the dealership. I did call them and I was able to get Ken on the phone, I asked him if he received my message to call me back from Primo and he said he was just about to call me....yeah right. I then asked him if he had my vehicle registration? He said yes that he did take it out of my car and gave it to Primo. Ken said "didn’t Primo give it to you before you left"? I said "no, Primo did not give it to me and to top it off he lied to me over the phone yesterday saying he never even had it or seen it". (More games) Long story kind of short... A few more shady phone calls from Ken saying that we can just forget about the missing vehicle registration and they will give me more money for my trade in and lets make the deal on a new car. I then told him if they were the last and only Toyota dealership on the planet and would give me the new car for $10,000 under invoice I would never do any kind of business with them ever! I then told Ken to have my vehicle registration ready with a $20 dollar bill waiting for me at the sales desk and to call me by noon tomorrow to confirm it was there ready for me to pick up. Once again. No call. Nothing...... I went into the dealership and both Ken and Primo were not in. I walked into the upper sales office (BullPin) and spoke to yet another sales manager named Tony N. I explained to him the reason for my visit and the SHADY experience with his SHADY SALES TEAM. He told me under his breath that primo was fired and is no longer with the company......( Yeah right...) But well wouldn't you know it within a few minutes Tony was able to look at a file behind the desk labeled ( 7 DAY - LEADS FILE ) and sure enough in that file was a folder with all my information and my vehicle registration. I then asked for my $20 dollars to cover the replacement registration and for them inconveniencing me. He then walked me over to yet another sales manager who I once again explained my story to and I made him him come out to my car to show him a copy of my new registration receipt showing that I paid $20 dollars to have it replaced. He then slipped me a $20 dollar bill out of his own wallet. We both walked back into the sales office / bull pin where he made a copy of the receipt. Before I left I let them all know how I really felt and that I was so appalled, and ashamed for them at the shady way they conduct themselves and the way they treat potential customers. I really feel bad to think that if it were some elderly person or my parents, grandparents, sister, brother or your family or anyone for that matter the utter lack of class, lack of character lack of pride, lack of values, lack of honer that the whole operation / dealership has shown me I can't believe they would still relevant in the near future. ZERO STARS / DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and PLEAES GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!Sold a V4 as a V6
by RTN_Rachel on 07/17/2014On July 4th we purchased a vehicle from Andy, the seller. We were looking for a seller named Andy, which we never met, but was a close family friend referral, when we approached hime, he said he was the family friend, which is why we… proceeded to go with him among the many. We came for a Venza, the process took several hours, we waited, when the GM asked why he was not working on completing the process, his reply oh they'll wait. He said oh we have your car, when he checked the inventory he said the lot now only had two V6's loaded, one more than the other. The purchase of the vehicle was well over 35K which is high, considering low inventory for a V6. We never had a chance to test the vehicle, but since he was a family "friend" and stated he knew my brother, we believed him. Who tries to sell a V4 as a V6, we have contacted Toyota Place 3 times within 48 hours, no reply, we will take this further. Unethical business practices, I will update on this process. If you want to build business among the local population, ensure you don't just sell the race friend car, because I assure you, this is unacceptable. Please work on executing ethical and fair selling practices. Your online reviews are a good indicator.internet sales dept : THAI NGUYEN is a [violative content deleted], BEWARE
by lvu on 08/22/2009Cosco introduced me to buy at this place via internet department. I have contacted THAI NGUYEN internet sales department (salesman) he told me that he had the car for me and told me the price. so i set up an appointment after work to… come and finish the sales, but once i got there he told me base on the DEALER'S policy every customer that purchase car from this dealership is REQUIRED to buy the CUSTOM wheels which is $1800 for a 17 inches for the toyota PRIUS. because i brought in my clunker that's why the dealer is requiring customer to buy the addition custom wheels to offset the rebate. I was slowly asked him why he didn't mention it to me before i drove 1 1/2 hours to this dealership at 7:30 pm, if i know there is such a NONSENSE policy like this i wouldn't ever wasted my time to drag myself to see this salesman "THAI NGUYEN". He said if i don't like this then leave.....HOW RUDE...hey since I was there i just wanted to know more dealership sales tactics on how to SCAM, CHEAT, FALSE ADVERTISED prices. so I asked further questions. 1) I asked THAI NGUYEN (SALESMAN) about the prices. he told me the price he emailed me was the price that he sold it last week. I asked him why he quoted and CONFIRMED TO ME that is the price that he will sale . ........SO I TOLD HIM; you are a [violative content deleted], you tricked me to come to your dealership and told me that the price you quoted and confirmed is the price that he can't sales and even add more dealership's policy to it. he told me: "GET OUT OF HERE, THIS IS THE PRICE I WANTED YOU TO BUY THEN YOU BUY. DO YOU KNOW THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE WAITING TO BUY THIS CAR AT ANY PRICE I TELL THEM. SO GET OUT OF HERE" then he walked away from me, just me stand there in shock with the most horrible RUDE IMPOLITE WAY to deal with the customer. Up to now i am still in shock and never forget the way this sales person treat the customer like this. Now i am writing this to let everyone BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP and this individual salesman "THAI NGUYEN" along with is INTERNET SALES DEPARTMENT TEAM.....BEWARE.....Hope they will survive after this CLUNKER program or they "salesman"/ [violative content deleted] will still have a place to sleep at night or under the dumpster.Terrible Trade-in
by infomatters1 on 06/30/2008The internet sales staff is responsive and addresses questions quickly via email. I got a detailed quote just by trading emails back and forth before going in and was satisfied with the price and selection as I expected them to be.… However we didn't get a good trade-in on our old van, and that's the worst part of this whole experience. If you can sell your old car somewhere else you really should. We don't have the time to do that so in the end we decided to take the crummy price anyway. The finance guy was good and didn't press us into buying things we didn't ask. Overall the experience was better than my previous ones in other places.Internet Sales Experience
by bobbylax on 02/10/2008Though we wound up not purchasing a vehicle form them, they were very responsive and quick to follow up to our requests, both by phone and by internet. They tried hard to make the deal work and seemed very eager to sell us a car. In the… end, the vehicle was simmply not in our budget, but they did try hard to meet meet our needs. This effort is what the true definition of an online sales experience should be! Other dealer could learn from them. We dealt with Jonathan Miyahara and would recommend him highly.THAI N. WILL LIE
by noname17 on 05/05/2013updated 04/29/2025All I have to say is THAI N. will lie to you to get you to this dealer ship ..and will not work with you on the price ..but will tell you on the phone he will.. BUYER BEWARE...!Avoid this dealer
by kvn1 on 05/13/2014updated 04/29/2025They quoted me higher than MSRP for Highlander 2014 on May-10-2014, other dealers such as Orange, Whittier.... quoted 2-3k below MSRP.I hope they go under
by etcallhome on 06/21/2011updated 04/29/2025Crappy dealer, treated us like dirt. Held us there for 5 hours. Would not give our driver license back. Insist that they did not make any money on this sales. My cousin bought a better van for significant less 2 weeks after I got mine from… someone else. To add insults to injury, the van had scratches on the hood, we noticed the next day. I think they delayed us so we would not noticed it in the fading light. I wish I could [violative content deleted] they could all go under. Never giving them a penny of my business again. I'm thinking of decorating my license plate. If there was a way to give negative stars I would do it.Easiest Purchase
by amati5 on 01/13/2012updated 04/29/2025We shopped online for a Tacoma online with local dealers. At the time, the Tacomas were somewhat low in stock everywhere and the prices weren't that flexible. Finally, my wife decided to call this dealer and talked to the internet… manager. I forgot her name (something Luu) but she gave us the firm price, the lowest we got. We drove down the next day, saw the car was washed, sitting in the front and the internet manager was waiting for us in by the door. I was thinking to myself this seemed too good to be true. 1 hour later, we left with the car, no hassle from either the internet manager or the finance manager.AVOID! AVOID!! AVOID!!!
by lorelei711 on 08/14/2011updated 04/29/2025DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!! Traded in for an '05 Chevy Aveo. Salesman, Steve Tarver, knew this was to be a once-a-week 200-mile round-trip commuter car for work. On the 5-minute drive home, all the dash lights momentarily went out.… Called "helpful" Steve, who didn't return the call, and took it back that Friday (we purchased on Mon night) for service. The car spent 3 out of 4 weekends at their service dept because...the clock didn't work, the driver's door lock didn't work causing the "door ajar" light and interior light to flash going over a bump, and the rear windshield wiper didn't work. Our mechanic had it the 4th weekend because NO ONE at this place could tell us the condition of the timing belt that was to be replaced at 60000 miles (cost us $700). Right before the 30-day warranty expired, while driving up a steep grade on the 14 freeway, the engine light and "hold" light started flashing...so back to the dealer we went. They couldn't replicate the problem because "there are no hills down here", so they sent us home. Guess what? Lights flashed AGAIN going up the steep grade only this time, the car surged to the point I'm scared to drive the damned thing. Obviously, the problem is getting worse. So the following weekend, back into Service we go. They ended up charging us $174 for 4 plugs and 4 wires, even tho Aveo owners on the internet report the need for a valve job (which we've been saying along). Funny...repairs were free up till this point. After no return phone calls from management, we found Gus. He was EXTREMELY rude and kept chastising us for not buying the extended warranty, even tho these repairs were still under their 30-day warranty! He should never be allowed to deal with the public. He even got mad at us because "we were told the car might break down" so what's our problem?? NOBODY ever said this car might break down, but I guess this dealership expects their used cars to do so. Their used car "safety inspection" is a joke, so BEWARE buying anything used here. I'm awaiting the next week to see if the lights start flashing at me again. If they do, we'll start this complaining process all over again. To their credit, we found service guys and cashier girls and another salesman to be very sympathetic to our cause. But all in all....AVOID!!BEST TIME TO BUY A CAR? When you do not need a car.
by toyotamigo on 04/25/2012updated 04/29/2025I was interested in replacing my gas-guzzler but I was not decided to buy. I had done my homework (here at Edmonds of course) for Accords and Camrys (I was more inclined for the Accord) I was driving by and saw this Avalon elevated on a… ramp and I fell in love with it. Even though I was looking for a lesser car, I bought this one. Sales person was green but he was super nice. After I made my offer, he took me to the closer (internet manager) and he was extremely honest, polite and knowledgeable. After a couple of hours haggling for the price with the sales manager, my offer was accepted. Finance terms were good too. The only bad part was the value for my trade-in, but putting together sales price and trade in value, I consider it was a fair deal for both. (Dealer and me)
