  • Simply Horrible

    I went to pick up my brand new Subaru crosstrek as it was having a bike rack put on the roof and the dealership literally sold it to someone else!!! Then the manager was incredibly rude and unapologetic, I have never been treated so badly. I will never recommend this dealer to anyone, steer clear.

  • Poor Communication

    I would not recommend taking your car into the Irvine Subaru for any maintenance. My husband dropped off his car on September 1st and was promised a call the following day to see what the car needed. No call for a few days, we finally called and the entire time they had the incorrect contact information. Completely incorrect; wrong name, phone number and email address. My husband had provided his name and contact information when he dropped it off. We finally sort out what the car needs and were quoted $3k with the car being returned 4-5 days. A rental car is provided in the meantime, a week passes by and no communication from the service team. We call and are told that our Service Adviser is out and would be returning the following day and that he would contact us then. Wait another few days, no call. We call again and are told the same thing. A few more days pass and we call again, no one is able to provide us an update and are told to either hold and keep on holding until we hang up or that someone would call us back. No one calls back so we call again the following day and this went on for about another week and a half. I finally ask to be assigned a new Service Advisor at which point we are told that our car should be ready any day. A whole other week passes by finally receive the car. I go to drop off the rental and I am charged for the rental since Subaru only authorized one day (we had the rental for 21 days imagine the cost). Sebastian, the Service Manager, tells me that he will call Enterprise to have the rental charged to them and not my credit card. Additionally, Sebastian tells me that the quote provided to us was for $3500, not $3000 and that he would reduce it to $3k for the inconvenience. I argue that there is no discount provided as the quote given was $3k and they have no proof of what was quoted to us and that the original Service Adviser was out so they were not able to confirm what he told us. A couple of days have passed and I see the charge on my credit card for the rental, call Enterprise and Enterprise informs me that Subaru has not called them to have the adjustment made. I am furious at this point and do not understand why I need to keep contacting them, they should be on top of this after all of the screw up initially. No I am out the car rental money and I have to call in the morning to sort it out.

    as soon as we stepped out of our car, Daniel Flanagan sales was rude and judgmental. My fiancée and I asked to test drive 3 different vehicles.we were denied by Daniel and told that we didn't look serious and they were on commission little did Daniel know, we went with $31000 cash to purchase a vehicle. Drove off angry and ended coming back as I felt disrespected by Daniels attitude. Ended buying a vehicle from Dustin after discussing with him the situation. Dustin was great. During transaction, we were transferred to Peter who kept insisting 5-6 times we purchase the extended warranty slamming cabinet doors and papers because we declined the extended warranty. Horrible experience I spoke to Sergio Sanchez who I was referred to speak to due to situation. I could not get the simplest of apologies from Daniel or Peter. I would not recommend buying at franks irvine Subaru.

    Ordered a 2017 Outback Touring . We gave them a deposit and were told it would be 4-6 weeks. We checked in with them several times but after 6 1/2 weeks we were informed that another sales rep (and daughter of the owner), Desiree Faray, had deceptively manipulated our order and sold our car. Our sales rep was very upset but said Desiree does this all the time. Management was unwilling to address the issue and said all they could do was order another one and wait another 6 weeks. Most unethical business we have ever dealt with.

    Purchased 2016 Outback December 19, 2015. It has around 3,100 miles on it of which the last 50 or so where driving back and forth to dealer. Car ran fine other than the occasional non-starting. Engine would turn over but not start once, maybe twice and then start. Then in early May, it didn't start after several attempts, sometimes turning it over for 20 seconds. Took it in May 18th and they could not recreate it but put a battery in it. Later that evening after a few stops, it wouldn't start. Finally after several attempts it did. I videotaped several attempts over 4 different stops where it didn't start but did turnover. Took it in again May 19th and sent Irvine Subaru Service the video. They could not recreate it. I would call every evening for the remainder of that first week as they never called me with an update. I was told they will call when the know something. I called National Subaru in New Jersey that Saturday and received comments such as its my problem if they can't recreate it. There is nothing they can do other than contact the dealer. She (Customer Service in NJ) called me back Tuesday (May 24th) and reconfirmed those comments. I called the dealer that day and they could not recreate it. I asked if I should pick up my car and their response was they are working on it. They were looking at rewiring it. I called last Friday evening after 4:00 pm (May 27) and they were adding a fuel pump but the fuel truck left so they couldn't drain my gas as my tank was full. I called today (May 31) after 5 pm and asked for upper management (done so last week without a response). I got the service manager. Nice guy but lack of communication and having me, the client, continue to follow up I believe is extremely poor customer service. My car should be ready tomorrow but its not starting consistently per manager. Stated a new fuel pump takes a while to set up and get it working. Two weeks in and no car. A few friends and associates I know looking into a Subaru or getting a new one do not have my recommendation and if they have to, I can't recommend this dealer. New car with issue they can't resolve and I don't hear from them and I am left feeling like I did something wrong and should not bother them. One week, let alone two, is a long time to fix anything and I was never kept up to date. Everyone is nice at the dealership. However if you have any issues, it will get only worse. Truly loved my car but this experience and the continued problem they can't fix has scared me aware for at least the dealer, if not vehicle.

    My experience with Dustin was as fantastic as expected. He offered me the best price up front, without all the dealership games. The car that I wanted wasn't in stock of course, but he was willing to work with me and get a dealer trade if needed or reserve a car coming in for me. I told other dealers that contacted me from the Costco website what his quoted price was and they told me "That's below Cost! I can't go that low". I told them thanks for trying, I will buy it from Irvine then, they must want my business more. Then after talking to their managers they were willing to sell me the cars on their lots for "Less than cost!". Like most consumers, by day 1 I was tired of the games the other dealerships in the area were playing. This is my second Subaru from Irvine Subaru and probably won't be my last. I have referred several people to Dustin and of course will continue to do so. My wife was so pleased with Dustin's customer service, she actually said "I would rather pay $1000 more for the car and buy it from Dustin/Irvine than buy another car from the other local Subaru dealer". If that isn't a good enough reflection of the level of service provided, I don't know what is.

    Thank you to the Desiree and the rest of the team for making the buying experience as easy and straight forward as it can be. This is my second vehicle purchased from them and will definitely be back for future vehicles. It really only took an exchange of a few emails and I was sold. Comparing to other dealers that kept spamming me, Desiree kept it simple and to the point. Bottom line is that they make you feel welcomed and you can't beat that.

    I purchased my Legacy 2.5i Limited on 3/30. It was the best car buying experience I have ever had. I did my research, brought my data, we talked pricing, and financing options. Everything lined up so I bought the car. The worst part of the experience was waiting for the car to be turned over (had to be cleaned and prepped). They are remodeling their dealership so the construction equipment has limited their flow, so it was understandable. During the time I waited my sales rep checked on me and the car multiple times. He didn't hover but he didn't forget about me either. Perfect combination. Thanks.

    Buying a car from Frank’s Irvine Subaru was the best car buying experience ever! This is what my wife told Marcelo, the Salesman and I totally agree with her. I have searched several dealership inventories and I got prices and option to reserve a car or order one. Irvine Subaru had the car. I got the price, everything itemized. I decided to go and inspect the car. After inspection and test drive we have decided to buy. Marcelo, the salesman, is polite and patient. He knows SUBARU cars. He answered all my questions and added other important information about the car. And everything he told me about OUTBACK makes sense. He also presented the Service Department. Paperwork was quick and easy. No hassle. The car was ready for us – perfect clean. No problem found. Car inspection, test drive, trade-in old car, paperwork was done in less than 90 minutes. I am very happy that I have purchased the car from Irvine Subaru. They have a very good team. Traian Olteanu

    When I called to inquire about the price of a 2015 WRX, they automatilly gave me the best price possible. Not only that they were very friendly in their service. The guys helped me sync my Bluetooth up without me even having to ask. One thing I hate about car shopping is that there is always waiting around and haggling that turns into a great big fiasco. They honored the price they quoted and got me into the car I wanted with absolutely no hassle. This dealership is very professional and I would recommend it to anyone before considering any other vehicles

    Best car buying experience I have ever had. Very simple and easy to work with. Ultra-competitive pricing. Corresponded by e-mail in the morning, had the car ready for us when we arrived, went for a test drive then quickly arranged a very fair price and finished the paperwork. In and out in an hour.     The best car buying experience I ever had was just before Thanksgiving at Franks Irvine Subaru where I purchased a beautiful 2015 jasmine color Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium which I promptly named "Jasz". I love my car! I was assisted thru the haggle-free process by Gene Mavis who was very knowledgeable, honest and helpful not only with "all things Subaru" but also with Costco's Auto Program. As a Costco member I had the added bonus of getting an even sweeter deal because Franks Irvine Subaru is a participating dealer. So I truly had the best of both worlds. Although I originally planned to buy a used car, (because Subaru's hold their value so well), I realized with new car incentives and financing programs I could be paying the same price for a brand new car with the latest upgrades - a no brain-er! From the test drive (when I first fell in love with Jasz) right thru to the Instantaneous financing approval at a LOW killer rate, thru the speedy completion of paperwork, the great extended warranty, the "how things work in your car" mini class expertly taught by Gene - to my driving away in my beautiful Forester under clear and glorious starlit night, I was - and still am - one happy little camper. If you're looking for a great deal at a place where you can relax knowing you are being treated honestly and professionally there's only one place I know of right now and that's Frank's Irvine Subaru. When you get there, say hello to Gene for me. and get ready to fall in love with your next car.

    I bought my subaru crosstrek a few days ago from Dustin. I was in and out within the hour. It was the easiest car purchase I've ever experienced. What he quoted me is what I got. There was no need to haggle. The offer was great. He was personable and prepared. When I showed up, my car was waiting up front to test drive. Then when I met Michelle in finance, I felt like she already knew who I was. My paperwork was prepared ahead of time. She also reminded me to call my previous dealership to make sure I ask for a refund on part of my extended warranty and gap insurance which most most people forget. I really like my car but service is what sells. A bad service experience is why I left the previous dealership. I've never owned a subaru but if service like this continues, I will be a lifetime customer. Thank you Irvine Subaru.
