Pacific Honda Purchase 4/23/25
A breath of fresh air
by Edwalls1 on 04/23/2018Mohammed the sales associate was outstanding. I had been looking for a car for weeks and had attempted to test drive the vehicle I bought several times from other dealers but selling cars are not a priority. I was excited that this dealer… had Accord Hybrid cars and most dealer in SO CAL. did not so I test drove it and Mohammed took the time to figure out the purpose for the purchase and helped me decide on which vehicle was right for me. I felt his personal skills and product knowledge was instrumental in making a deal. The real outstanding part he didnt try to trap me in a sale but rather wanted to make the customer happy. I forgot to mention the second part of the sale was a day after I test drove. Mohammed was gone so the stand in was armondo who was equally as outstanding I explained to them I needed to be somewhere in two hours (buying cars are not a quick experience) they moved very quickly to make this happen. Lastly Anthony in finance laid everything out and even got me a better rate than my bank plus he reminded me about discounts I hadnt accounted for and also adjusted in order for us to get the exact payment I wanted. Best dealer in SAN DIEGOBest service

Very Professional
by Skinman926 on 08/01/2017My salesman Jeff was very straight forward and great at explaining details. If you want a fair and honest salesman - go see Jeff at Pacific Honda...Thank you so much for your comment. Were so happy to hear that you had a great experience with Jeff!

No need to shop around!
by Ginanet on 06/15/2017Just bought my daughter a new Civic. If you are shopping around save yourself the trouble and just get your Honda from Pacific. Mark Salzman (Sales) is seriously the nicest guy and he made the process so easy and worked within my budget.… The customer service was over the top from the girl that first responded to my inquiry (Cassandra) to the General Manager (Erik Nelson) . Both interactions with finance were quick and painless, also super nice people. I got a great deal and my daughter loves her new car. I had shopped around and decided on the Honda because of the reliability and they are known for holding their value. I bought from Pacific Honda because they immediately won me over with their customer service and attentiveness and followed through with that during the entire process. Not one person dropped the ball.10/10 Would recommend
by rcfisch1 on 12/04/2016My experience leasing through Pacific Honda has been an absolute joy thus far. Mike Peters was more than helpful and knowledgeable on helping me through the leasing process and was able to efficiently sell me a vehicle that was within my… budget and came with all the features that I needed/wanted. I would recommend your dealership to any of my friends or family and would give Mike a 10/10 for his work.warranty and oil changes
by reallybadeggs on 08/30/2010always use the oil change place out front, very fast and they do more than just change my oil. they test my battery and do a little check up each time. my 2004 civic hybrid had a problem with the ima light. i bought it used and have like… 140,000 miles. the regular shop checked it and said it needed a new ima battery (really expensive). but they told me it was still under warranty until 150,000 miles! they took care of it ever though i bought it used. man i was happy!Lying sales & manager to a return customer
by sean7908 on 07/11/2009Our first experience with pacific honda starts April 2005, when we first purchased Honda civic hybrid. Our sales repersentative was Frank Deng, he was one of the most honest car salesman I have ever met. Naturally when my cusin wants to… purchase her honda, we brought her to Pacific honda. We were told that because we are a return customer we are getting the best salesman on the team RICH KISE (Old retired Navy, [violative content deleted]), since Frank no longer works there. Once we agreed on the price we started talk about the loan process. My cusin has 750 credit score and decent income from her first job, we were told that she could NOT get the Honda special finance with 2,9% up 36 month or the 3.9% up to 60 month, in fact the only loan she would qualify was the 7.75%. The manager refused to even try to apply her for the lower rate, while none of her files were even presented before the accountant at the dealship. We made a drive to [another dealership] the same night and pickup the car she wanted with the loan that we are happy with. They have apply the lower rate for her and didn't get but she was able to get the 5%. I guess Pacific Honda really don't appreciate any business, even if it was return customer. I would never service my car there anymore, since they start charging me more to have a gold member card. My advice for honda buyer is avoid Pacific Honda at ALL COST, especially RICH. There was no warm welcome no refreshment of any kind, and the attitude was take it or leave it, and don't waste their time. We the buyer shouldn't reward this kind of dealership by purchase anything from them again, they deserve to going out of business!Three years of goodd experience
by metalibrarian on 02/07/2009Have owned cars for 43 years. Bought an Accord here in March 06. All routine maintenance done here, and I have zero complaints, even with prices. Car now has 48K miles, has had seven oil changes, five at A-level ($36--discounted if you… bought the car from them), two at B-level ($90). Quick but careful check of crucials each time with A-level. Not once but twice the oil-change kids saw nail in a tire. Bought new tire at Firestone first time; Firestone replaced it free second time. But since this is my daughter's car, and we just absolutely do not want our daughters to get flats on the freeway at 2 a.m., I've been thanking the eagle-eyed service chaps in my mind ever since, May they win the lottery. I mean if all you do is change oil and look at tires day in and out, you might miss a nail now and then. They didn't miss mine. Battery check, readout provided, with every oil change, and this is needed if, again, you want to avoid being stranded. Only other service was new rear brake pads ($209). Front rotors were machined under warranty--a pleasant surprise. I was expecting a $600--$800 brake job. Pleasant people, clean waiting areas, bathrooms. Of course they will try to sell you more--it's a business. You simply say, "no thank you" or "not today," and that's that.metalibrarian, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience at Pacific Honda. An uscrupulous business
by amarcord on 08/09/2008Absolutely blatant reap off.... Better Business Bureau should be investigating this place for horrible business practices. They will charge you for work estimate. They'll make you wait for over an hour to pick up your car -- "paper work is… in its way...". The answer : -Why it took so long?, -- will meet with answer : -- We were vacuuming your car. (Car wasn't vacuumed after all....) In short -- save your money, time and stress -- avoid this place.Virtual Nightmare Experience!
by ruthel on 07/08/2008The only gem in this pile of manure, is the car itself. I was hood-winked, conned, manipulated, etc, etc, etc. I have only myself to blame for allowing myself to go to that dealership & be duped. I have learned an expensive & valuable… lesson in dealing with Pacific Honda: Get as much information as possible about the dealership, like reading these on-line customer reviews. The experience with Pacific Honda has taught me NEVER trust ANYONE @ a car dealership! Lenny, sales manager, is the absolute pits! His lack of knowledge & execution of correct transaction process has cost me nearly 2 mos. of headache after the "sale". All the sales reps & managers are after your money. They don't care about the person! No One! responds to your e-mails & you only get the run around over the phone. BAD! BAD! BAD!Ruthel, We are sorry to hear about your bad experience and would like to take care of anything that might have occured during your transaction at Pacific Honda. Please let me extend my apology and ask that if you require addition help to please contact me directly. I assure you that your emails will be returned in a timely manner and any services promised will be fullfilled. It is hard for me to tell where the disconnect might have occured and any feed back even bad is always welcome. In order for us to correct any processes that might be lacking we need to evaluate comments such as yours to better ourselves. Please find my email address below and feel free to contact me directly. Horrible Sales Reps and Managers!
by bigballinsd on 06/26/2008I originally went to pacific honda to buy my honda accord. After an hour of negotiation with Matt Nguyen I finally got my price and when we were about to do all of the paper work and buy the car the new car sales manager Lenny tried jacking… up the price and saying that he needs to cover costs and all the typical BS. He raised the price and when I told Lenny that Matt was going to throw in accessories for the car Matt stood there and lied in front of my face saying that he did not agree to include any accessories. [violative content deleted]I would not recommend Pacific Honda to anyone I know. The sales manager Lenny is a jerk! Unfortunately, the sales dept does not care about the customer! All they are after, is the sale! Glad to see I wasn't the only one who experienced Pacific Honda negatively.
Had a pretty decent overall experience
by pkota on 06/01/2008Very warm, professional and helpful rep (Mike Hamel) who made our car-buying experience pretty decent.....He also gave us tips on how to bargain :) which was kind of cool.....Just went with a number a mind after a week's online research and… got a decent match.... Didn't have a great experience at the service center though....Went in for a sealant/re-paint and ended up with a scratch on my door, which is very unprofessional....Fortunately I noticed it while I was there - so had to take it back again.....Pkota, Thank you for choosing Pacific Honda for your new car purchase. We appreciate your business.
Questionable value with service packages
by sddoc07 on 09/08/2007Made the mistake of choosing Pacific Honda to perform my 30,000 mile service. Ended up costing over four hundred dollars. As I went back to check what they had done, realized that I made the rookie mistake of not verifying that every… service was needed. To make matters even worse, they do not even wash the car after the service. I went in for a broken headlight and my experience was mixed. On one hand, the service advisor was extremely quick, he literally had the headlight replaced in less than 40 minutes b/c they wanted to get to other cars. On the other hand, he basically talked me out of taking care of several other issues I had with some interior trim wear and tear by essentially threatening me about how long it would take. When I ordered several trim parts for replacement, one took almost 2 months to arrive and I had to call to find out it had arrived - the part sat there for almost 2 weeks and no one bothered to let me know. I gave it one last go (don't know why) with their "Quick Service center." Turns out an oil/filter change costs almost 50 bucks!! Unbelievable. Again, it is bundled with tons of checks, etc that blow up the price. And no, it is not negotiable.[violative content deleted]
by celkan on 07/31/2007I reached a deal by phone with the Internet sales manager, for a car that they had in stock. As agreed, I came in the next morning to do the transaction. After they kept me waiting for 30 minutes, I went in to the sales manager's office.… I found out that they had sold the car to someone else! I walked out and bought the same car from another dealer the same day. Later the salesman phoned me. I told him that Pacific Honda is unethical. He answered "I know but I just work here." Someone who should be knowledgeable told me afterwards that Pacfic Honda has a reputation for agreeing to deals by phone without disclosing that they do not have the intended vehicle in stock.I completely agree with this review! Pacific Honda = Bad business practices!
Good for internet purchase, eh for the rest
by customer50 on 10/01/2013updated 04/26/2025I just bought my first car from Pacific Honda and had an overall alright experience. The pro's: - Internet price quote was the cheapest and most transparent of all the quotes I requested (sent to 7 dealerships in SD). - They came down from… that quote when I mentioned another quote I got was around the same price. No questions asked. - Online sales rep was not pushy at all, simply gave me the info I asked for. - Online price quote includes all dealer fees! So I ended up paying exactly what they quoted me (only addition was sales tax), no surprises at signing. The cons: - In person purchasing experience started low pressure enough but eventually came down to the stereotypical games, pressuring to buy immediately, pushing options that I didn't want, etc. Overall I'd come here again. Definitely negotiate online BEFORE you even think about going in person.Repeat customer
by hiddenapple on 12/04/2012updated 04/26/2025This is the second vehicle we purchased from Pacific Honda. We purchased a 2003 Odyssey when they first came out and after 270,000 miles we decided we needed a new one. We recently purchased a 2012 Odyssey and Pacific Honda treated us very… well. (After the purchase we received a quote from another dealer that was $500 less than we paid but who knows for sure if it was exactly the same.) Anyway, we were very happy with the entire experience and thier service department has been great. The sales force was not high pressure and although they did go through all the optional add ons at the end of the sale there was no high pressure tactics used to force us to buy something we didn't want. (We refused everything and just bought the car)You can count on Pacific Honda
by efyamamoto on 02/13/2014updated 04/26/2025I've only taken my car to one place for all servicing requirements since I purchased my car from them 13 years ago........PACIFIC HONDA. They have always taken as good a care of my car as I have which is likely why it's still in excellent… condition. I can always count on them.Bait & Switch!!!
by ewalds on 10/31/2011updated 04/26/2025To begin with, our initial experience at Pacific Honda with Zach and Wally Sibou was a positive one. They were responsive with their calls and e-mails and were able to bring in an automobile that fit our needs from another dealer. They… also quoted an "out-the-door" price for us that was extremely enticing. These e-mails were sent last week to and from my husband. Since I had work commitments during the week, I went to Pacific Honda last Saturday to look at the car that Wally said would be ready for me to test drive. I liked the car, except for the fact that the interior needed cleaning....rather puzzling since it only showed 61 miles on the speedometer. I test drove it, and Wally was very instructive about the options on the car. I asked him about the price and he said it was really a good deal and that he couldn't buy it for that amount. The manager, Paul, came out briefly and was surprised that my husband wasn't there. I told him that he'd been struggling with a lot of leg pain and was unable to come that day. Paul then said that they couldn't hold the car too long and I said I'd try to come back the next day, Sunday and finalize the deal. In spite of my husband's pain, he agreed to accompany me to the dealer (Pacific Honda) again Sunday afternoon (10/23) to look at the car and test drive it for a short time. During that time, the price was again discussed with Wally who then said that even his manager couldn't buy the car for the price that we were going to pay. At the end of the test drive, we looked at the car again on the interior and exterior......the rear seat mat was still dirty, but the leather seats had been cleaned. I also noted that the left rear plastic brakelight cover had a cloudy look on the surface. Upon further examination, I realized that it appeared to be the result of someone using a scotchbrite pad or something similar to remove perhaps an adhesive from the brake light cover. I pointed it out to Wally and he agreed that it was there, but said he'd check with the manager and take care of it, along with cleaning the rear floor mat that was noticably soiled. After that, my husband and I went into the showroom office and began the paperwork process to buy the car at the quoted price per the e-mail we'd received and printed. When Wally left to get the manager's (Paul's) approval, it seemed to take awhile, but we thought this is just how business is done at car dealerships. You can only imagine our disappointment when Paul came to us and said there was a problem. We said, "A problem???" He replied, "the price that was quoted to you was not correct" and "I made an honest mistake"!!!! We were shocked!! We told him that he should honor the price that was quoted us. This price had been discussed and written about for over 4 days and now, as we were finalizing the deal, the manager, Paul, comes to us to say that it was wrong!! Our reaction was, "this is a "BAIT & SWITCH" and certainly does not speak well for Pacific Honda. Both of us were so upset and disappointed! On top of that, even though Paul set a "new" price which was still nearly a thousand dollars over the agreed upon price, he was unwilling to replace the rear brake light cover with the abrasion scratches. Needless to say, we will NEVER do business with Pacific Honda again and will certainly tell anyone we know of our experience there. Honda may build a good car, but if their dealerships' managers play tricks on the customers as we experienced at Pacific Honda, Honda shoppers will go elsewhere!Express lane
by Ebreddy on 12/21/2013updated 04/26/2025The express lane is always friendly, quick (on the way to work) and moderately priced -- especially with the Pacific Honda Plus Card (10% discount on service and parts).
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We are so pleased that you and your family enjoyed your experience with Jose!
