Customer Reviews of DCH Toyota of Torrance
Review type:
worst sales experience of my life
by jgent on 06/20/2010Torrance Toyota DCH was awful. High pressure sales, with manipulation and complete lack of consideration for the customer. It could not have been worse. Actually demanded that I sign an offer to take to the sales manager. This was after a… phone conversation offer occurred and I was directed to come in with a check. I should have torn it up and shoved it where the sun doesn't shine. I will never go back.Spare yourself!
by heaveneyes on 10/12/2009Spare yourself and find a different dealership. If you are somehow convinced to buy here, please listen to me and scrutinize and question every single suspicious detail that you encounter. Do not let them pressure you in any way. Run away… right away and take comfort in the knowledge that there are more dealerships and more car inventories elsewhere that have better reputation than this one. Is this really Toyota?Warning.
by heaveneyes on 10/12/2009Be prepared to have more damage in your car than when you brought it in. Carefully inspect your car before service and document whatever existing damages so you can protect yourself.Torrance Toyota Sales Experience: High Prices and Rude Sales Staff
by spoll8834 on 02/02/2008I have purchased 3 new Toyotas in the past 4 years (Sequoia, Rav4, Tacoma). Each time I start at Torrance since it is near my home. I have never been able to close a deal there. Each time I have beaten their “best offer” by thousands of… dollars. Each time my sales experience at Torrance Toyota gets worse and worse. Last time (July ’07), the sales person wanted to use my car to drive us to a remote lot to check the inventory. Don’t they know their inventory by way of a computer database? Torrance Toyota has a very limited inventory as well. I have been treated very well at Carson Toyota and Norwalk Toyota. Try those two first, and don’t waste your time at Torrance Toyota.FJ Cruiser Shopping Experience
by jamesnaylor1 on 12/17/2007I didn't enjoy my experience at Torrance Toyota in February of 2007 when I was shopping for a brand new Toyota FJ Cruiser. I went in one afternoon after doing a LOT of research on both Edmunds.com and other online properties before actually… getting a feel for salesmanship at different dealerships. I went to Torrance after having a good experience at Manhattan Beach Toyota with the sales rep, who simply didn't have what I wanted on the lot. I found an FJ on the lot at Torrance I'd make a reasonable deal on. It was a 4x4 with all mechanical packages (locking diffs, etc) but lacking many of the flashy components (no side steps, roof rack, or upgraded stereo packages.). The offer I made was VERY reasonable for the model, but they insisted on see-sawing with me on the price, and trying to enforce a 'marketing adjustment' that was no longer being applied at other dealerships for the model. Ultimately, I walked out, and ended up paying $100 more at a competitor's dealership for a fully loaded model (convenience and option package 2, roof rack and step rails), in a buying process that took all of 4 hours one day; from discussing what was in stock and pricing on the phone, driving to the dealership, having a test drive, signing paperwork, and driving away as a happy customer. The dealerships were polar opposites in how salesmanship was executed, with Torrance being the poor performer.I have purchased 3 new Toyotas in the past 4 years (Sequoia, Rav4, Tacoma). Certified vehicle with mechanical issues
by dwaters13 on 08/29/2013updated 04/25/2025I purchased a Toyota Certified 2007 Matrix Sport 64,000+ miles) in July. Had the car checked by mechanic. Had bad front and rear struts, oil and transmission leak and bad head gasket. The dealership took the car back without argument. Gave… me a good deal on 2013 Corolla. Also sent me a "goodwill" rebate.I apologize for the inconvenience of the maintenance issue you had with your Matrix. I am glad that we were able to get you a new deal and I hope you are enjoying your new Corolla. If you have any further issues, please do not hesitate to contact me at (909) 664 4473. –Chris Hunter, General Manager
Tamara in Service Dept.
by Nerdia on 12/04/2013updated 04/25/2025Although each service person I've encountered in the past has impressed, Tamara far exceeded my expectations. Her advice in helping me assess which services would benefit my car the most was extremely helpful. She knows what she's talking… about and I'm so grateful for that. My car was completed for the quoted time...a bonus! I know that my car is always in good hands at DCH and I wouldn't take it anywhere else...ever.Phil Velderrain

by dh10 on 04/05/2011updated 04/25/2025ive had bad experinces in the past with dealerships. But the employess at dch toyota were very nice and profesional. Upon arrival i was greeted with smiling faces. The employee that assisted me on my visit was ashley perez. She was very… sweet and went over and beyond too answer my questions and concerns. Unfortunetly i did not purchase a car because i wasnt financially ready. Ashley perez assured me that when i was ready that i could come back and she would help me personally. I am without a doubt going too recommend dch toyota too all my friends and family. The experiance i had there was so amazing it will not be forgotten anytime soon. Needless too say i will be going to buy my car there within a few months.Good quality service

by harperscout on 05/20/2011updated 04/25/2025Mack Rico has been my service advisor since I bought my Scion xB in 11/09. He always provides me with the information that I need about my car and always gets me in to service my car on my schedule. I trust him fully and he is why I get my… car serviced at this dealership. Thank you, Mack.
I had a similar experience at this dealership. I went in couple of weeks ago to test drive a FJ Cruiser and they were a bit pushy in a rude way. I told them that I was there just to test drive it because I needed to make sure my fiancee was ok with the vehicle selection, and I'm not sure if they thought I was trying to bluff, but the sales manager came over and said something like if I need to consult her to make a decision this early in our relationship, then I'm going to have problems throughout my marriage. Now, he didn't say those exact words, but he meant it in that way. I don't know what kind of marriage he has with his wife, but I'm responsible and I'm not going to make any purchases on impulse, especially when the purchases in tens of thousands of dollars. What a moron!
