Great Car Buying Experience

by jkgumby on 07/12/2015I had been waiting for the 2016 Elite, and they finally came out but there aren't many available yet in CA. The Ocean Honda team managed to find exactly the car I wanted, and it showed up earlier than expected. The overall process wasn't as… painful as I anticipated - largely due to the efforts of Rick, Mo, Ahmed and Silvano. I traded my car in for a fair price, and they gave me a loaner Pilot until mine arrived. I have to take it back next week so they can put on all my accessories, but so far, so good!Awesome!
by breannascott on 07/06/2015I bought a Honda Civic from Ocean last week. It was a great experience from start to finish! I inquired about financing options via email and was in contact with Marie. She was extremely efficient and made sure I was not wasting time or… money! I ended up having some issues sending her proof of income via email, so she actually provided her cell phone number in order for me to text her a picture of my last pay statement. In doing this, Marie ensured the dealership could get the ball rolling with the bank in order to approve the loan. Marie was leaving work at 5 that day, so she put me in contact with Mo, who assured me that if I were to come into the dealership that evening, he would make certain I left smiling. Once I arrived, I was helped by Miguel, a sales person at Ocean. He was extremely personable and attentive. He addressed my concerns with financing and helped with trading in my old car. Mo gave me a great offer on financing and I became an owner of a new Civic! Once all was said and done, I sat and signed paperwork with the finance manager (his name has since slipped my mind, but that's not because he wasn't memorable), who was very helpful and efficient. He made certain my time was not wasted in his office. After I was handed the keys, Miguel offered to help move the contents from my old car into my new car. He was so great... and Mo thanked me for coming in. After I left, I realized I left my garage door clicker in my old car and the dealership had since closed. I called MIguel, told him my dilemma, and he went back to where my old car was, retrieved the clicker, and put it in an envelope for me to pick up the following day. Keep in mind this was after the dealership had closed! He went totally out of his way for me. When I went to pick up the remote, I was able to meet Marie face-to-face. She was so kind and wanted to see my new car and seemed sincerely happy for me. Mo was there, and thanked me again and let me know if I needed anything, to just reach out. It was a great experience and I love my new car!Good experience

by carbuyer271 on 05/27/2015We purchased our used Honda from Ocean Honda of Ventura only because they had exactly the car we were looking for. The process was slow, painful, frustrating, and exhausting. After arriving, we did a quick test drive and looked over the… car. It was what we were looking for so we went in to start the buying process. They sat us at a table and we did a lot of waiting. An office opened, they sat us down and we started going over numbers. They brought us a worksheet showing monthly payments for different amounts of down payments. Luckily for us, we had my wife's smart phone and we plugged the numbers in and saw that the monthly payments listed were not correct. The salesman took the paper away and came back and said they had "accidentally" included a charge for the advertised free 2-year service contract. Umm, yeah right. Immediately, I did not trust this place. We then went back and forth about how much to pay. At one point, my wife and I stated an amount and the response was, "Let's see about the financing." They then had us fill out the credit application. We then did a lot more waiting. After being in the dealership for over 3 hours, my wife finally had to leave to get our kids from the babysitter. We still had not yet been told if our offer had been accepted. Finally, I was led into the finance office. This led to more fun. At this point, I still had yet to be told if our offer had been accepted. The finance guy showed me his computer screen and I could see the monthly payment was not what we had offered. I inquired about it and the finance guy initially said he would need to get the manager. Moments later, he just up and changed the number to what we had asked for. Then there was this: "Are you interested in an extended warranty?" I was asked. "No," I replied. The guy then went about trying to sell me the extended warranty. Again, I said, "No, thank you." He then continued to sell me on the extended warranty. After turning down other such offers, I signed all the papers. My wife came back with our kids and she signed and the car was ours. The process took over four and half hours. It wasn't entirely awful. The salesman did take the time to show me how to connect my phone to the Bluetooth, but he told me that the USB connection would work with any MP3 player, and that turned out to be incorrect. The manager also bought us lunch after my wife and I said we wanted to go get something to eat and to talk it over. Anything to keep us in the dealership. Some advice: get pre-approval on a loan from another lender before going to a dealer, know how monthly payment calculators work, and use Kelly Blue Book or other car sites to know a car's worth ahead of time.Great customer service!

With Mr. Randy's expertise I got a very good deal as a first time buyer.… All of their staff were very accommodating through out the buying process, such a nice experience. My 2001 Civic had two airbag related recalls, and one other Karr alert issue. No matter, their staff was always… courteous and I felt like their "only" client when on sight. Just recently, I bought a new Honda, and I felt so comfortable in their company that "any" previous purchasing doubts were no longer. They really are the helpful Honda guys, and I got the best buy for the vehicle that I just could not refuse. It is a super value backed up by a supportive team. KUDOs to their managers and service representatives for being very customer service driven !!! I have shared this great experience with family and co-workers, and will continue to have my car serviced at this location. You deserve more than 5 stars!!!Awesome Dealership!

Within the afternoon Gabriel Palomares, our salesman, felt more like family instead of a… hungry shark thirsty for a sale; and the manager Greg Myres was very amicable too. The establishment and its staff is the epitome of community. When you buy from Ocean Honda, you are not only investing in quality vehicles, but a quality relationship as well.Mark was GREAT!!!

Randy was great to work with because he was very knowledgeable about the 2015 accord hybrid and just had a likeable… personality. I just walked in one day, met Randy, and test drove the Accord Hybrid. i was not pressured to buy right away. I searched around other honda dealers, but I liked Ocean Honda the best because they were very neat, organized, polite, and yes they have to offer you all the options-but never in a pushy way. I didn't expect to be able to get all paperwork reviewed and signed so quickly, but the good people at this dealer got it done in little more than an hour, and there was no monkey business- everything was straightforward.Frank Martin was the BEST!!!

We received such great information about the Honda Fit during our test drive that my mom decided to buy one as well.… We will continue to go back to Ocean Honda and refer our friends and family there as well. PS. The sales manager Moe was also extremely helpful and accommodating. We had a great experience with everyone at Ocean Honda.Very satisfied with my purchase

I was immediately greeted by a car salesman, Randy Gentille, who listened to my needs and showed me around the car lot until I found the perfect car for me.… Randy is fantastic! He truly is great at what he does, not pushy, very informative and most of all kind. I was then brought over to the financial desk and Greg Myers helped me narrow down exactly what I was able to afford. Greg has a very warming personality and made it easy to talk logistics with. Other dealerships in the past have made me feel pressured into buying something you don't want. Not these guys! It was as easy as walking in, telling them what I was looking for and walking out with a new car! My overall experience was outstanding! I'll be recommending this place to everyone I know!
About our dealership
