  • Great Service

    5 out of 5 starsby Jake123 on 05/04/2017

My wife and I purchased a used vehicle from planet Honda. After mechanical issues with the vehicle, Ed and Nick went out of their way to make the situation right. It is so nice to have a sales staff that works with you instead of just… selling another car. We will definitely be back.
  • Love my new car

5 out of 5 starsby MonikaK on 05/02/2017

The dealership was clean and my car was SUPER well taken care of. I found Planet Honda staff to be friendly and efficient (worked with Jay and it was a pleasure). Would differently return.

  • Monica LeClair/Knowledgable Personable

5 out of 5 starsby Louanne on 04/27/2017

My sister and I went to Planet Honda to check out the Accord. We were greeted and told that Monica would be right with us. She had an answer for every question we had plus provided us with a wealth of info. She was not pushy or… intimidating, just a real pleasure to work with! I'll have to say my buying experience was actually fun and who can say that with a straight face? When we came back to purchase the car they made sure we got out timely so we could make an unexpected appointment. I came to this dealership a couple years ago and i have to agree with the other reviewers. The saleman (don't know his name) was rude. So ask for Monica and get treated like you expect to be plus some!
  • Poor service

1 out of 5 starsby DrDeath on 02/18/2017

We got to the Planet Honda about 5:10. No one greeted us when we entered the show room. We looked at a couple of CR-Vs on the floor and waited for help. A couple of salesmen were at desks on the floor. Others were working in offices with… views of the showroom. No one stopped to ask if they could help us or summoned someone who could. I even honked the horn on one of the showroom models a couple of times and still no one. After 25 minutes, my wife went to one of the offices and asked if we could get some help. The guy said he was in finance, but took her to a room with several salesmen in it. He introduced her to one. When she pointed out how long we had been waiting for help, he told her he would get someone else to help her. When she told this second salesman how long we had been in the showroom, he assured her that he watched the door and hadn't seen anyone come in! In other words, he basically accused her of lying. When my wife told me how she had been treated, I went into the room and asked where the nearest Honda dealer was where we could get some help with test driving a car. At that point the sales manager actually got interested. He asked us what he could do to make things right. But by then it was too late -- we told him that we were leaving and that we would find a dealer that was interested in selling us a car. So, we wasted a lot of time there for nothing.
  • Sleezy company, not reliable

1 out of 5 starsby Notevenmad on 05/14/2016

We worked with laszlo, but I think [non-permissible content removed]. Fret not this did not stop him from becoming a [non-permissible content removed]. I had an appointment scheduled and I live 8 hours away from this dealership. I was… promised if anyone else came to look at this car I would get a call. Well I didn't receive one until 2 hours away and 6 hours into my drive saying someone else bought it. I told him I was going to buy the car and he would hold it for me. This company is not reliable like they say and only out to make money and not good relationships with customers. I would not recommend this company. Read all the reviews before going through the them!
  • Nope, No, No.

My husband and I had been looking for a used Pilot for several months, and found one that we really liked at Planet Honda. The car had a few very minor issues that we were told would be fixed promptly. They told us that we could take it… home while we waited for them to order the two parts, and schedule the windshield company to come fill the chips. So, we drove home in our new car and waited. Waited, waited, waited. After 3 weeks, we called them and were told that they would get back to us the next day. They didn't. I called again, and again. And again. We finally got our service schedule SIX weeks after buying the vehicle. They fixed the back panel on the driver's seat, and they had the windshield company out (who informed us that we needed a new windshield, rather than just fillers). They told us they would call at the beginning of the following week to schedule the windshield replacement, and get us the other part that we needed. They didn't. I called them on Wednesday and was told that they would get back to me that day. They didn't. I called Friday and was placed on hold for THIRTY minutes before them getting back on the phone to tell me that they would have to call me back. I have now had this car for two months, and am missing a wheel lock key, so if I get a flat tire I will literally not have the ability to change a tire (a part they said they had in stock, but haven't given to us twice now, because they 'need to order one'). And, we have a windshield that could crack at any moment, and could result in a ticket for us. I will never buy a car from them again. Unfortunately, we were looking for something specific, and the price was right. Next time, we'll know to keep looking, and use one of the dealers who have shown us that they care to keep customers happy when they are spending a great deal of money in their establishment.

I can't remember at time I felt so strongly about a bad experience I felt compelled to write a negative review. Rather than giving you the play-by-play version of the story, I'll simply say this.....there are plenty of Honda dealerships… around, so do yourself a favor and choose any other dealership to give your hard-earned money to. I've never been so disrespected, out-right lied to (by multiple layers of folks here), and disgusted in all my years of purchasing cars. Never. Not even close. I live 2 miles from this dealership...the next closest dealership is almost 15 miles away and I will now drive to another dealership even for an oil change because I refuse to give a dime of my money to [non-permissible content removed]....... "a slang word for someone who acts in a disreputable, unethical, or unscrupulous way." Yup...that's the perfect word. If you choose to set foot into this dealership, don't say I didn't warn you....
  • Don't Waste Your Time Because They Will Waste Yours

They won't comment you a price over the phone and then when pushed to come down to a market price, they disappear only to come down slightly and still $1,400 high. I only had two hours and they were in no hurry and ate up the first hour… and a half with joke offers. Combined with insulting trade in values ($500 for a car the salesman admited he would sell for $4,000), you shouldn't even bother showing up. The first offer came in at sticker price and sudden add ons started showing up on the car that I hadn't requested. After the classic "let me see what I can do" they were still $1,400 above the quotes I received from other dealers for the model (Planet was the only one with the color). They call you throughout the shopping process which some may view as good but there is no need for 2 people to call you 5 minutes apart (which happened 3 times). Save your time and go no haggle, I found all the no haggle prices were within $300 of each other and all were the lowest I could find.
  • One good one bad

The Bad, My (ex) girlfriend brought her Honda here for pinging engine sound during acceleration. They told her it was the pullys and that the brakes needed to be fixed. She called the next morning and authorized the work. They called at… 11AM to say the car was finished. (3 hours had elapsed). She was billed for 6 (SIX!) hours labor! I asked if more than one mechanic had worked on the car. They said "no" and refused to adjust the price because they use "catalog times". A real ripoff if you ask me. The good. Brought my older Honda to a mom and pop shop, they said it had alignment problems that would cost over $500 to fix. Hmmmm.... Decided to try a dealer (Planet Honda) and they did it for about $100. I asked the mechanic about it and researched it online, turns out the car has multiple adjustments
  • A bad experience

When I first visited, we couldn't agree on a price for my desired vehicle, because the sales tax they calculated was so great (shockingly high, as I told them), that it put me over my limit for buying a car. They were so confident in… themselves that they did not mind my leaving because they were "only making $25 on the vehicle". When I followed up on the phone and reiterated the price I needed, they got back to me and agreed to a deal. When I was signing the papers, I discovered that they met my price by reducing the sales tax by $500! Avoid a dealer who can't calculate the sales tax or jerks customers around with sales tax.

2.3 out of 5 starsby larps on 11/17/2007

Be prepared before you shop at Planet Honda. Their management staff is old school and it takes hours to try to get a fair deal. Never will get one at Planet Honda. I ended up at Mile High Honda (after looking at Schomp also) and found the… sales people to be very nice and well informed. It did not take a battle to get a fair deal (Schomp wanted $1200 More). My trade was worth $2500 more at Mile High than Planet Honda against the same selling price. Bottom line; Bad service, Bad price, Horrible process you are put through.
  • Stay away from Planet Honda

I ordered my car in Oct and was quoted MSRP on line. I left a $500. deposit. I made several follow up calls while I waited for my car. I was told the vehicle would be ready in Jan. as I prepared my financing I spoke with there “floor sales… manager” he explained that there were going to be some extra charges. A mandatory accessory package, a protection plan, and they would need 500$ over MSRP now because other dealers were getting $900. He explained they were really not making much money off these cars. I explained I did not want any of the above and that I wanted my $500. back. They then decided that they would not tack on the extra charges. The car arrived and my sales person Martin Estes explained they would need a few hours to prep the car and it would be ready @ 1:30pm. I did not get out of the dealership until 500pm. In that time my salesperson offered no explanation of the dealerships various charges he just spoke about himself and his family. When I met with the financial dept. Joe Soubasis, he rushed me through a bunch of forms to sign. I just spent 3 hours learing about Martins family and he can not take 2 minutes to explain why my car is now so much more money. He had an extra 299. for delivery and handling on top of the destination charges. They then added a theft registration plan for another 199. (United Car Care) I told him I did not want these things. He said they were mandatory and I asked “what are they?” He offers no explination and begins to get agitated with me and shows me anther contracte where the person had paid these extra fees. He said the sales person should have explained this. He then calls Martin in and begins to yell in front of me. The theft registration plan was a scam and Martin later explained that if my vehicle were stolen and recovered without the windshield they would replace the windshield. I hope no one else has to experience this with this sleazy dealership.

My wife and I recently traded in our Honda Element for a used Acura MDX at Planet Honda. I know this review is long, so the short version is overall I feel that the dealership is not completely honest with their customers, does not make the… car buying process easy or simple, and cares far more about making as much money off an individual sale than on retaining customers for future sales. I know that most dealers sell used vehicles “as-is,” but the least Planet Honda could do is be honest about what they tell the customer and the condition of what they are selling. If it had not been for the comparably efficient, courteous and professional finance and service departments, this would be a one-star rating. We got to the dealership on a Thursday morning, so we expected a fairly quick experience in the event we decided to buy a car (our daughter was with a babysitter). I only saw a few other customers looking at or buying cars the entire time we were there, and the process still took over three hours. On the test drive, I was pulled over by the Colorado State Patrol only because one of the salesmen (who rode in the car with us) put the dealer plate on upside down and so far to one side of the rear window that the plate was partially obstructed and not readable. This was embarrassing and stressful to say the least. Once we decided we wanted the Acura, I asked what maintenance or repairs had been done on it prior to being offered for sale. Because the Acura had just over 104,000 miles on it, I was mainly interested in whether the timing belt had been replaced. The salesman said he would find the maintenance records and that Planet Honda performs an average of "$1,500" on every used vehicle in their inventory before offering it for sale. After leaving my wife and I at his desk (which he did many times and often for 10 minutes or more once we began the buying process), the salesman brought us the Carfax report, which mentioned oil changes and a few other maintenance items. I again asked to see Plant Honda’s maintenance records, to which he stated he was having trouble finding because they had bought the Acura so recently (nine days prior, according to him). I asked the salesman if they normally change the timing belts when the cars they are selling are so close to 105,000 miles and he stated he was "sure" they would have replaced it already. Even though he could not show us the maintenance records, we decided to buy the car because I was planning on taking it to my own mechanic to be inspected for any problems and because of their 5 day/250 mile return policy. The salesman said he would email me the records when he found them. I had my mechanic look at the Acura the following morning (Friday) and they found that two of the engine mounts were cracked or broken. I then returned to Planet Honda that afternoon. I had still not received an email with the service records, but the salesman showed them to me when I arrived. The total cost of the repairs they performed before offering the Acura for sale totaled about $1,200. The records showed a $90 charge for a “broken engine mount.” When I informed the salesman that my mechanic found two broken engine mounts, he had to have his manager’s approval to fix what their records showed should have already been fixed. Also, there was no reference to them replacing the timing belt in their records. When I again questioned the salesman about this, he insisted numerous times that the dealership they bought the Acura from should have replaced the timing belt. He said he was “90 percent” sure that any dealership would have replaced the timing belt any time after 95,000 miles. I asked for the previous dealership’s name, later called them, and found they had no record of replacing the timing belt. Calling this dealership took only a few minutes of my time, so I don’t know why my salesman did not offer to do it for me. The following day (Saturday), my wife took the Acura in to have the engine mounts replaced. She also informed them what I found out from the previous dealership and asked that Planet Honda replace the timing belt at a reduced rate at most. Initially, they refused to not replace it for full cost and suggested we simply return the Acura under their 5 day policy. After some negotiation, they agreed to replace the timing belt, the tensioners, the water pump, the condenser belt and do a coolant flush (all part of a normal timing belt replacement, according to my mechanic) at their cost of about $850, which my wife paid. This was not much of a reduced rate, considering my mechanic would have charged $1100 for the same service. According to the Carfax report my salesman showed me, there were two recalls on the Acura since it was manufactured. The salesman could never give me a definitive answer about if these had been taken care of when I asked him to check with the service department. When the salesman gave me only one key to the Acura (which I later found out is a valet key because it does not lock or unlock the glove box), he said he would check around the dealership because he was “sure” there had to be another key and a remote to the car. When I said I thought the only key they were giving me was the valet key because it was gray like Honda valet keys are, the salesman quickly said something about certain year model Acura’s regular keys being gray in color. He never got back to me about a second key on the three days we were at the dealership. Before my wife and I decided to buy the Acura, the salesman stated it would be eligible for their Q-certified 2 year/100,000 mile power train warranty. Later, during the process of him trying to find the maintenance records, he informed me the Acura was not eligible for this warranty due to its mileage. He said they had” just changed” their policy to include cars with the Acura’s mileage, but they had purchased the Acura before the policy change. This is a little hard for me to grasp considering he told me they had only bought the Acura nine days prior. During the process of purchasing the Acura, I asked the salesman numerous times what they needed from my credit union or if I needed to call them, as I had already been preapproved for a very low rate with my credit union. With all the sitting and waiting I was doing, I figured I could get the ball rolling, so to speak. The salesman kept saying there was no need to call and they would take care of it later. When I finally spoke with Planet Honda’s finance department, I was told I would have to apply for financing through the dealer’s preferred credit union because I did not have the documentation that they needed from my credit union. Long story short, I applied for financing through the dealer’s credit union initially but gave them the check from my credit union a few days later. I am sure my credit report now shows another inquiry from their preferred credit union because the salesman would not tell me what I needed to get from my credit union when I offered. All in all, my experience at Planet Honda was not pleasant. I have purchased vehicles from both large, chain dealerships and small, local ones and have never experienced anything quite like Planet Honda’s sales department.

I bought the Friends for Life Program but they certainly have not treated me as a friend! I took my car in for an oil change and it end up costing me $1000. They changed my breaks without approval from me ... on and on the list is long!!!… The main point is they are a terrible business to work with and I would not recommend them based on my experience! I wished I had researched them first before I bought my car!

Planet Honda sold my daughter a used 2007 Honda Accord with 33k miles. It has had 3 major issues and engine blew at 66k. First issue was damaged wheel rims discovered when she bought new tires. Also rear end was out of alignment. Second was… a documented quality issue which Honda has repaired free of charge where spark plug comes loose, stripping threads and damaging coil pack. Local Honda Dealer dropped spark plug tip in upper cylinder, damaging engine, which threw a connecting rod bearing at 66k. Car now needs new engine. Planet Honda and local dealer have been unwilling to help. My daughter still owes $8000 on this car, a lemon.

Bought a 2010 Xterra Planet had from a trade in. During phone conversations (I live in Colorado Springs, 90 miles South of the dealership), it was disclosed the vehicle had paint damage. Planet offered to "go half" on the price of the new… paint, which was to be $400 total, leaving me to pay $200, which would be added to the price of the car. Later, the salesperson told me the vehicle also had door dings, so they'd fix those too, but as it turns out, my share has now gone up by 50%, leaving me to cover a new $100. (turns out the cost of fixing the door dings that I never saw was, according to the salesperson, "70-75 dollars".) Price overall was decent enough for me to proceed, despite the dealership's sudden reneging on the initial offer. During the final closing of the deal, I asked for three things: a new air filter (it clearly had never been changed), two working keys (there was only one, plus two fobs), and a full tank of gas. The responses were as follows: On the air filter: "We don't have Nissan parts." A quick call to the Planet Honda service department today reveals that "if we don't have an air filter for a Nissan on-hand, we can get it really quickly." Either an ill-informed salesperson, or a bald-faced lie. On the keys: We won't get a new key. You have to go to Nissan. But it's a cheaper key to get made (Turned out the "cheap" key is $90). You're on your own. Also discovered later that only one of the fobs was functional. On the gas: I can give you five gallons, but that's it. They claimed to be selling the vehicle at a loss, which I don't doubt, but the level of service certainly reflected their bottom line. I was to be accommodated in no extra way, and gotten out the door as quickly as possible, and nickeled and dimed wherever possible. I like the Xterra very much so far, but would never recommend Planet Automotive to anyone - the experience was far less than ideal.
