Having bought a Honda Crosstour from them in 2010 without having sent out a request to other dealerships, I called them to see if they were interested in… giving me a price on a 2013 4 wheel drive Honda Pilot. The sales person asked me what number they would have to meet to get my business and I told them a rough number. They called me back and said they could not get one for me since it was a 4 wheel drive and they didn't sell that many here in Florida. I asked it they could get one from another dealer and they said they had looked on-line for a dealer they could do business with and could not find any and also stated that at the price I gave them it wouldn't be in their interest to look any further, since at that price they would be losing money. I bought the car from a dealership that did respond immediately to my quest thru Edmunds as they were not only able to find the car at another dealership, but also met my price. Since I suspect that the dealership that sold me the car would not do so if they lost money I can only conclude that the salesman at Gary Smith lied to me.Treated right while buying an insight

Its a great team that should be proud of themselves, and the product they sell, and maintain. We had some tense… negotiations, but all through the process they were great. by wildrider666 on 03/29/2011updated 04/24/2025Three days ago I purchased a new 2011 Civic LX. I wanted to bring my experience to your attention. Too many people complain loudly on minor things and never take the time to recognise the good things. In this case I would say Exceptional… things. I am so pleased that I am going to post this review on several Internet sites like Kelly Blue Book.com and Edmunds.com. Please pass my thanks to all involved. I live 54 miles from Gary Smith Honda. I am 4 miles from the "Other Honda Dealer". I purchased from Gary Smith Honda and that should tell you something right off the bat. I had done my homework on the Net and was shopping my near dealer's written price quote to six Honda dealers. Only four responded. Two wanted me to visit and test drive first. I cut to the chase with my TOTAL out the door price. Within 15 minutes of my dealer inquiry to Gary Smith I was called by Salesmen Joel Unger. I told him the specifics on the Honda I wanted and the written "low" price quote I had. I told him if he could beat it by $150 I would buy from Gary Smith. Joel said he would get right on it and he did! He call back and confirm that he had put his hands on the EXACT car equipped AS I wanted and he wanted to double check some of the other dealers numbers. His next call was about 25 minutes later and when Joel told me their price breakdown I was almost speechless due to the grin on my face. They beat the my original dealer by over NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS and they included a Gary Smith option package worth 900 at no cost. Another dealer came within a few hundred dollars of Gary Smiths price but they were real vague on precise numbers would not send a written quote "because its sooo low" and there was no free dealer option pkg included. Joel Emailed the numbers and I compared them again. WOW!!! Headed to Gary Smith Honda 10 minutes later. IT GETS BETTER! We arrive about 5PM. Official Greeter guides my F350 Crew Cab into a tight parking spot and calls Joel. We just hit the door and we meet Joel for the first time. From start to finish Joel was the consummate professional. He is not the typical salesman that "is your instant best friend in the whole world" and if you like dogs he likes dogs if you like to feed your kids to alligators he likes to do that too. Not Joel!!! He knows his product, He wants to know your vehicle needs and put it together for a good fit. Friendly yes, sincere yes, suck up: no! We look at the car; Perfect! Joel wants to take us for a test drive. I say been there done that but I do need to drive before I buy. Joel understands we got the test drive brief before but still wants to make sure we know whats what. He provided information about the car that the other dealers salesmen didn't cover. I mean a lot of important feature and SAFETY info. HE already knew I was sold and still provided Superior information and we were amazed at how little information the other salesman gave. Joel answers all our questions and we go over the ALL the individual costs. THIS IS IMPORTANT: the final numbers are $60 less then his written quote!!! Anyone who has dealt with a sales staff of lesser quality then those at Gary Smith know that the $60 would have been sucked into another number somewhere by those with less integrity. IMPRESSIVE!!! Joel goes off to get all the paper work rolling so the Wife and I walk the lot. We approach two men. One who is detailing a car and I think his supervisor as he was directing the other one to buff the hood a bit more. The supervisor walked off and had not seen us coming. When we got within five feet of the working Detailer, he stopped what he was doing, greeted us and asked if we needed any help or if He could get someone for us. Friendly Customer Service at all levels must be the norm at Gary Smith Honda. The cars are clean, landscaping well maintained and not a spec of trash on the ground. I finish a smoke and would normally step on it but this place is so clean I feel guilty and hold onto the butt till I get back to my truck. If they put this much detail in appearance I am sure their service will be awesome. Back inside credit comes back and its .9% as promised via HONDA (you need to have good credit to get it). My "other" dealer advertises 1.9% on TV even though "HONDA" is still offering 0.9% till the end of March. I wonder where the other 1% goes? See why I came to Gary Smith now. Joel hands me off to the Money Man "Rance R" We do all the normal paper work. We get to the dreaded (on my part) additional services, protection, gap insurance and so on. The Programs are well explained with many valid reasons for them being purchased by some customers. They even had a weekly no paint dent removal plan (like door dings) I had never heard of but thought was cool. Rance answered all our questions and there was NO pressure to buy these. Simply examples how you could use them and the benefits they provide. We signed, paid and headed out with Joel (now 45 minutes after the dealership was suppose to close). He had even set the radio to the wife's favorite stations, made sure that all the controls were set for her. I guess it's never too soon for after the sale customer service. The next day Joel calls us to see that we were home safe and again asked if we had any questions or needed help to figure anything out. Having spent my life in the military and moved so often the opportunity to buy a second time from a great dealer seldom happened. Now that I'm settled down, when we need to replace our Honda in 15+ years or go for an upgrade You know where I will go. This sales experience was a pleasure. If it was anything less I would not have taken the time to write in detail and post all this. If you look at other sites you will probably see this again. They deserve my appreciation on this purchase. I will be just as detailed good or bad when I have the car serviced. I am a private party and other then the sale of this vehicle; have no dealings public or private with Gary Smith Honda. Just one happy Customerwould not provide a price
by hooha12 on 09/29/2012updated 04/24/2025Posted an internet request for a drive it off the lot price and stated email communication only. They emailed me to call them. I replied that I only wanted them to give me a price on a specific vehicle. They did not even answer.
