I wasn't going to buy a car!
Cannot imagine a better experience buying a new car

I had my heart set on a completely different make/model but I noticed a comparable car that was in my price range on the Tom Bush BMW web site and I sent an email asking for some general information.… First thing the next morning I received a personalized video of the car from Todd Thompson, showing me all the features on the car and how they worked. I was really impressed that he took the time to do this for a customer he had not met who just asked a few questions online. That sold it for me! He also sent me links with independent reviews on this model from Car & Driver and US News and World Report that were really helpful. When I visited the dealership, Todd had the car right outside waiting for me. He was super friendly, very polite and easy to talk to. This was not like any car buying experience I've had before. It was stress-free, no pressure and I can't believe I got the car I wanted at such a great price along with a great price for my trade-in. I cannot say enough about how well I was treated at Tom Bush BMW. I want to thank Todd Thompson for being the best salesperson I could ask for. BMW Encore Delivery!

You will have a one-on-one review of your car to answer any questions you may have after driving your car for a few weeks. I thought I… had a pretty good handle on the car's features, but the review showed me how to get the most out of this amazingly capable car. Don was extremely knowledgeable and helped me optimize the electronic features of the iDrive controller in all the different modes. If you don't do this review, you will miss out on some cool information! And the car is awesome...a whole different animal than my 2013 X1. (Which I also loved.). The sales and service at Tom Bush have exceeded my expectations for the past 4 years. I certainly recommend them and the BMW cars that they sell.Congratulations Ken2017X1 on your recent purchase! by stepheneller on 10/24/2016I see a trend with the reviews. Positive feedback on sales and negative reviews on service. My experience has been no exception to the trend. I too have left messages with no return calls. I have just incurred $2,800 in charges with no… tangible results. I have had my car in for service 4 times since it was purchased last November. At each visit I brought up strange noises and burning oil. I was consistently told there was no issue. This last visit I brought the car in stating there was engine noise and the engine was lugging. Again, my advisor Steve stated that they could not identify any problems and suggested I get the spark plugs changed. Furthermore, he stated the tech took my car out for a drive and did not hear any noise. I picked my car up and a day later experienced "drivetrain failure" message and a check engine light. Immediately called and took it in the next morning. Now, understand that a day ago there was nothing wrong with the car. The diagnosis according to Steve was that the error codes could not give the enough information and they would need to break down the engine to know exactly what was going on - at a cost of $2,200. Understanding that they now have charged me $2,800 for no tangible result. So, the findings from the $2,200 breakdown was that they think the engine needs to be replaced. I asked for a detailed breakdown and estimate of the work to be performed, waited a day and a half for this information and finally called to get the estimate since I was obviously not going to get a call back. When I called, Steve did not have the quotes pulled together and gave me rough estimates for repairs. $8-10k to replace the engine that I would have to buy... so, this was how a customer gets treated? Keep in mind they have serviced my car since purchase and let the car go out of warranty with my complaints to come back and attempt to charge me $2,200 for engine breakdown, oil change and spark plugs at $600, engine replacement at $8-10k. This is in addition to my buying an engine at another $8,500. This, in my opinion, is the definition of screwing your customer. I hope that this makes everyone the wiser and nobody finds themselves in my position. I also asked since I was out of warranty if Tom Bush would assist in speaking with corporate on my behalf, which also was met with no response. I escalated to Brian, and also left messages for the general manager, Teles. No response or assistance.We apologize for your issues, Stephen Eller. As we understand, we have since been able to get some assistance from BMW and get you into a brand new BMW. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you. Service Adv. Rob Lawson tried to fight me
by temp_edmunds1476814354357 on 10/18/2016I went to pick up my car the day after it was promised, only to discover that the service department does not accept checks. There were no signs advising this, nor had my advisor mentioned this during the three times we were in contact… before I arranged to be driven 30 minutes from Ponte Vedra Beach to pick up my car. This (checking) was the account which I preferred to pay in, however, and I asked my advisor to ask the service manager if an exception could be made. At this point, a nearby service rep, Robert Lawson, told me "We don't take checks. Nobody pays with checks anymore" in an extremely condescending tone. I advised him that people do, however, use checks, as I had just the week before paid Mercedes-Benz for service with a check for $700. He ignored this while looking through his desk drawers, and was ultimately able to find a 1/4 sheet of laminated paper stashed deep within which stated the check policy, which he then threw down on the desk in front of me. This was the only notice of the check policy anywhere in the department - I looked thoroughly. I'm not sure what I have done at this point to illicit such a hostile and condescending response from Rob Lawson - who is only sitting next to my advisor and otherwise would have nothing to do with. He is clearly angry in some way, however. Now Rich, my advisor, comes back from his manager to tell me no exceptions, despite their complete failure to notify their customers of this policy. Rich "helpfully" offers to drive me to my bank, but at this point I've already invested far too much time in this unpleasant experience. I decline Rich's bank field trip, and say that while I appreciate what he's trying to do, the whole experience has not been a good one. I add that when the customer service people call to do their satisfaction survey, I will be sure to mention the failure to notify customers of their policy, and the unpleasantness of Robert Lawson in particular. I made sure to look at Robert at this point, as I felt he needed to know how inappropriate his attitude had been. This clearly got a rise out of Mr. Lawson, who angrily yelled "It's L for Lawson" as I walked by his desk. I remarked in a similar tone "Oh, thanks - I thought it was D for ******bag." After returning from outside with a different form of payment, Robert was mercifully not there for a few moments, and my advisor and I cordially concluded our business, shook hands, and I turned to leave. At this point, however, Robert Lawson returns to his desk and gives me a continuous stare which I can only describe as that of a street thug right before he assaults someone. Having been in the service industry before - even having sold Porsches and Audis in a similar environment to that of Tom Bush BMW - it was always my experience and philosophy that it was best to try to defuse a bad situation, or ignore it altogether by removing myself from the equation. Mr Lawson, however, seemed unable to do this, and in fact seemed to go out of his way to try to escalate it. On this occasion I wasn't in the position of being in the service of others, and I wasn't inclined to take his foul, aggressive attitude without comment. I stopped in my tracks and told him "Don't you look at me like that," which was more than Mr Lawson was able to contain. At this, he leaped up from his desk and rushed at me, putting his somewhat dirty-looking and unkempt face right into mine. "Yes I will look at you like that!" he shouted at me. I think my jaw must have hit the ground at this point, not believing that this man, with whom I should not have even had any contact with, was now threatening to fight me in the service department of a BMW dealership. I asked him if he was seriously threatening me in front of all these people, and he said that he got off at 7 o'clock and would fight me then. I think I must have laughed at this point and asked if I was in a schoolyard. I told him I wasn't about to drive up to waste anymore time with him, but would be happy to accommodate him now. Either his cowardice kicked in, or the thought that he probably shouldn't be assaulting customers at work belatedly occurred to him, but it didn't go any further. I turned and walked away from Tom Bush for the last time. Your experience may vary.We deeply apologize for your recent service experience. Unfortunately our company policy does not allow us to take checks. We will do better to display this around our dealership and train our advisors to notify the customers of such prior to coming in. As for Robert's behavior, it is completely inexcusable, and frankly, very surprising. We hear nothing but good things about his service. But upper management will be meeting with him personally to discuss this to see what went wrong and how we can better respond in these situations. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Again we apologize and hope we can get another opportunity to show you how we normally conduct business at our establishment. ~Brian Bush
