I bought a 2015 Mazda 6 I touring from this place . Worked with Juan C. to settle with best offer for the car . Got helped through my negotiations for a good deal without changing my requirements to settle for a really good price. On the day of the pick up got my car perfectly set up and with all the configuration and a walk down through all the features as well and also got a good deal with my extended warranty.

Unfortunately, the Sales Mgr was away on vacation and clueless to contents of letter I had posted. Upon his return, he immediately rectified all issues, making me feel like a valued customer, in making sure my car meets the high standards that Mazda manufactures, while extending concern, respect and excellent customer service. I LUV my New 2015 Mazda 6 - ZOOM ZOOM!
  • Wow what a great car, great deal and great dealership

    5 out of 5 starsby marta2316 on 10/28/2010

we had been looking for a while for a mini van. This was our first new car purchase in more than 20 years, so we were a little worried about being taken advantage of. It is so difficult to figure out exactly what we needed, We wanted space, but hated those large mini vans, just too big. We did do some research on the Mazda 5 and decided to visit a dealership to get a feel for the vehicle. We went to one dealership and thye would not even let us get into the car until we completed a credit applciation. What that all about? We finally went to Sport Mazda and met Ed and Barby their internet managers. They took us out for a test drive and even let us take it out for our selves. They showed us how our grand children would have plenty of space. We decided it really was the best fir for us. They outstanding internet prices and great customer service was enough for us, We were introduced to the service department and even got signed up for this thing they called an on line garage. Wow we no longer have to make a call for service or call to find out our car is ready, everything is done by e mail and on line. Well we are going to need another car soon, and i am sure we will find a good used car with them. Thanks again Ed and Barby
  • New Car Sales

4.2 out of 5 starsby drvamantrans on 10/24/2010

Went there for 2 reasons, 0% interest and the Internet price was better than my car buying service. Unfortunately, i wasn't told until I got there that these 2 offers could not be combined.. Not Good. However, they did their best to make the car sales happen.. and got me within $5 of my expected monthly payment. So the deal was a go. Really enjoy driving my new Mazda, and if I had to do it again.. I would get an email from them of what was discussed on the phone.
  • Post Sale Problems

    3.7 out of 5 starsby shoogie7 on 10/18/2010

One week after buying a pre-owned vehicle from this dealer we went to start the car in the morning & the battery was dead. So I'm not sure you should believe their line about a thorough maintenance inspection before selling any of their used vehicles. We have had the Mazda for about a month now & the Service Engine light is already on...In retrospect we should have taken it to a mechanic for inspection before buying. We called the dealership about the dead battery after we had it checked at AutoZone & found it needed to be replaced. They told us to bring it in & they'd take care of it. We drove 30 mins to their lot. Once there, the story changed, they couldn't do anything for us, sorry. Couldn't they have told us that on the phone before we drove for an hour paying tolls & using up gas? Their motto says something about Honesty & Integrity but they didn't put those principles in to practice for us.
    • After posting this review the owner of the dealership got in touch with me. They more than reimbursed us for the cost of the new battery. They brought a loaner vehicle to our home & took in our car to check the Service Engine light. They then replaced a valve over the weekend & had the car back to us on Monday- washed & vacuumed! I'm very impressed with how they handled this situation in the end.

  • Ed Michaels

    3.6 out of 5 starsby vickster1 on 07/13/2010

Overall the sale of the vehicle went well. It was the customer service and one particular evasive internet sales person that I am still having trouble with. After his lies, his ignoring and his refusal to pay for a repair that they are committed to pay I have had it. He's lied, he does absolutely NO customer service beyond making the sale and making his money. They didn't even offer me a clean car then when I drove back a second time for the cleaning and repair of the wiper motor they couldnt' fix it and gave me a 10 minute quick vacuum and wiped the windows. I have a committment for him to pay for the fix in St Petersburg and he has the invoice and yet he lied about being sick while sitting in the store (he was seen and also the person I spoke with said he was there until 7:30) yet he made it sound like (I can show you his email) he was going to crawl out of bed to bring in the invoice for the bill which he's had for a week. They don't want to do any customer service. Price of the vehicle was right but is it worth no customer service. I drove back, (over 120 miles one way) to get good customer service and yet it was horrible. I've had better service at a buy here pay here lot. SPORTSMAZDA OF ORLANDO. If you don't want bad review, stop letting people like Ed Michaels do any customer service... I am in contact with an attorney, BBB and a network of people from Publix....until I get my 211.00 dollars it won't stop. DRIVE ON BY AND FIND ANOTHER DEALER.
    • Wow, I just ran across your latest post. I thought we had this all smoothed out by now. Very sorry to hear it dragged out. I know Ed was working to get it resolved and I also know he dropped the ball as far as getting the invoice handled originally. Guess I am routing too many internet phone calls and leads through the poor guy.(no Excuses!) Regardless, my apologies for this mishap which sounded VERY avoidable. We try way to hard to provide a POSITIVE EXPERIENCE for our Customers to allow issues like this to become a reality. Call me on my Cell if there is still unresolved issues here. 321-436-3620 Jay Mealey GM/Sport Mazda

    • My UPDATE FOR YOU..........After begging someone else to make Ed Michaels contact me he did but that's when he told me he had been sick yet I knew by calling that he sat right in the office. Finally after 2 requests on the main website I was contacted by the General Manager who appologized. I wrote back and forth and then he told me he'd see to it my $$ would be "overnighted" to me by ED MICHAELS..........Well I waited and I waited and finally after the 3rd day I received the "overnighted" pkage. They had put the wrong phone number and the wrong address on (still no surprise). I had been asked to keep in touch and let them know when the check arrived. Still after each day telling them it hadn't arrived I got NO response. Again.......might be the cheapest deal but to what extent do you want to give up any good customer service or normal caring for this price? Trust me there are 2 other dealers (for Mazda's)..Wesley Chapel and St Petersburg....... Still have 0 response from the "general manager". Better Business Bureau has a report on file as well.

      by vickster1 on 12/06/2010

    • Update.............Here we are 30 days later and still NO notification from ANY financial institution. Nothing and my payment was to be due 30 days down the road. Probably, based on the fact that the "overnighted" check had the wrong address on it, maybe they gave the institution the wrong one as well. I have, as requested by the general manager been writing updates to him as he had asked me to let him know but I have yet to receive ANY response or communication from him. This is what I talk about when I say very very POOR customer followup or service. They want to wash their hands of this whole thing. IT is a HONDA other so the car itself is a great car but the deal..........LEMON LEMON LEMON. Patiently waiting again............

  • Great Experience

    4.8 out of 5 starsby nicole_m on 12/07/2009

After test driving almost every vehicle I could I discovered Sport Mazda. Kerwin Larocque was the most helpful and enjoyable sales person I encountered during my 3 week search for my new family vehicle. Kerwin was able to answer all of my questions and let vehicle persuade me. I LOVE my CX-9. After making the decision of purchasing a CX-9 he was able to find my color scheme at another dealer and have it delivered the next day. I enjoyed the playful sales office associates who made the experience enjoyable. I was even able to take balloons home for my kids! I highly recommend Kerwin for anyone who is thinking of a Mazda and does not want any additional sales pressure. He is great.
  • Great People and Service

    5 out of 5 starsby fun_guy on 11/14/2009

These guys get it. If you want service that is above and beyond the norm, look no further than Sport Mazda. I needed to make a service appointment, but it was after-hours on a weekend. So I went to the website and noticed there was a feature that let you chat with a service representative online. I "spoke" with Kerwin from the sales department, and he was very thorough and helpful. Now I have the appointment I need and didn't get the run-around even though I needed assistance during off hours.
  • Sales Experience

    5 out of 5 starsby retroboy19 on 10/26/2009

I visited the Sport Mazda dealer recently and must admit it was a pleasant experience. I spoke with a gentleman named Kerwin LaRoque. He was very helpful in helping me decide between a Mazda 3 and a Honda I have been debating. I have yet to goto the Honda dealership but my interest in the Mazda 3 has grown sufficiently after all the helpful info giving to me by Kerwin. He wasn't pressuring me into making a decision, he entertained and answered all of my questions and concerns which has lead me to looking forward to my next visit to purchase at Sport Mazda in the near future.
  • Finally Got My Mazda5 and I LOVE It

    4.4 out of 5 starsby luv2010mazda5 on 10/25/2009

It was almost a two week process to get my Mazda5, but I love the car! We first sent an email through Edmunds to the Mazda dealers in town and heard back from Sports Mazda and Corey Fairbanks Mazda. Corey Fairbanks was VERY high pressure on the phone, all they wanted to do was get us into the dealership, even though we kept explaining that we have a six month old baby and weren't willing to leave the house unless they gave us an upfront price before we walked in the dealership door, since we didn't want to waste time negotiating at the dealership. They would never give an upfront price - don't bother with them. But Sports Mazda came back with an amazing price right out of the gate plus they gave us a really great price on our trade. We were at the dealership over an hour with the test drive, filling out paper work and we just liked talking to the guys there who were all nice, if we weren't so chatty we would have left in 45mins. We were first looking for a 2009, because they were applying almost $2,000 in dealer cash to the price and since they didn't have any 5's at the dealership they had to try and get one from somewhere else. We left a deposit with them since they said they could get one from another dealership. That fell through, so they tried again, and then again. After a week we told them to forget it; I guess with that much dealer cash the dealers didn't want to give them up. They gave us our deposit back without any problems. So we thought that was the end of Sports Mazda. Then over the weekend Corey Fairbanks called again (yuck) and did all of the same high pressure stuff on the phone, so we didn't even want to get in a hundred feet of their lot. Plus they didn't have any 5's on their lot either (apparently as soon as any of the dealers got them they sold). So we tried to call Classic Mazda. THREE times we called Classic, it was like they didn't want to even try to sell a car. It felt like the people at Classic had been taking Ambien. At this point we had decided our CRV (the Crappy Recreational Vehicle) would be okay for a while longer, after all we only have one kid. Then on Wednesday Sports Mazda called they had ONE 2010 delivered. I thought that they would offer us some sky high price on it, especially since it was a higher trim line, but the price was great; we checked with Corey Fairbanks and they could not match it. Plus Sport went up $500 on our trade, without us even asking! It was too good of a deal to pass up. We asked them to get their guy to tint the car before picking it up, which was really worth it, their guy did an awesome job. So on Thursday my husband picked the car up and I've been driving it ever since and I love it. This car is the best looking mommy mobile out there. Another thing, their finance guy didn't try to do any crazy upselling of warranties, tires for life, gap insurance blah, blah, blah. My husband was in and out of the dealership in the time it took to hand over the keys to the CRV and sign the paperwork. I thought he wouldn't get home until 8PM, he strolled in the door at 6:15PM. Also, as a female, I thought that they were very good when dealing with me. Whereas I felt Corey Fairbanks was more interested in speaking with my husband.
  • Great atmosphere

LOVE my red 2007 mazda3. It looks great, its good on gas, handles great, rides smoothly and has great features. Mine has heated leather seats, moon roof, mp3, i pod, and g1 mobile phone hookup, hd lights and more. I'd recommend this car to anyone! I recently drove my Mazda3 to New York and back and have not had any problems with it yet..Kerwin was my sales man. I would recommend him to anyone!! He was very professional and knowledgable. I'm never one to rush, so he was very polite and patient with me, and I am thankful. The financing managers were very reasonable with their prices. ....LOVED MY EXPERIENCE AT SPORT MAZDA...
  • Not Flexible with Pricing, and Very Greedy Tendencies, TAKE ADVANTAGE

2 out of 5 starsby tankartist on 07/09/2009

I am a female and went shopping with my mother for a new 2010 Mazda 3 Hatchback. Kerwin was by far the best car sales man we have come across out of all the Mazda Dealerships, but when we started negotiating, the guys behind the desk were extremely rude. They played the paper game with you and they wouldn't take off 1500 dollars off the sticker price. They kept complaining about invoice pricing, and gave us the run around. It felt as if they tried to take advantage of us because we were female. They said they couldn't lower the price any father due to it being invoice at 21,500. I had a local print out from other dealerships that purchased the car at invoice for 19,420, and he wouldn't budge. We left upset and decided to come back another day. I called the day before to ask if Kerwin would be there, I was informed that Kerwin would be in at 12:30 the next day. When the day arrived I tried calling in advance to confirm he would be available but I was left on hold for about 40 minutes. It takes us about 40 minutes to drive to the SPORT auto place and when we arrived, to our dismay KERWIN wasn't even scheduled. We had to start all over with another gentleman named RAY who was also very nice. But they then offered us 500 dollars higher than our previous quote from Kerwin. When my mother and I informed them of this, the guy behind the desk only took off $30. It was an extremely terrible experience. They passed up an opprotunity for a huge cash down payment and they offered us 1000 dollars lower on our Accord Trade in. They dont have anything in stock and say they have to order cars in. That is another 250 dollars on the sticker price. And the worst part about Sport is that they have a HUGE dealer fee of $600. Do not go there.

We went today to look at a 2007 CX9. The salesman was courteous, but they were not very flexible in negotiating the price. They would only come down $2K off of the sticker price! Unsure if this is due to the fact that we wouldn't confirm we would do financing, but give me a break! They also did not seem to have a very large variety of vehicles.
  • UNPROFESSIONAL!!

    1.5 out of 5 starsby jdoe123 on 06/06/2009

Sad to see in a buyers market how careless and unprofessional the sales staff was at this dealership. I made an appointment to schedule a test drive at 5:30 pm during the week and was left waiting for 45 minutes before someone could take care of me which was a waste of my time. Not sure of how they mark their customers but my name was on their sales board with "SPANISH RADIO" noted next to it. At no point did I mention anything about a Spanish radio or that I was Hispanic. I DID NOT appreciate that walking in and seeing that on the board. I finally received and reasonable counter offer and went back to look at the car with my father. He pointed out the unevenly worn tires, so I pointed it out and counter offered them to take a couple hundred off the price to adjust for the tires. They did their busy paper work act asked me if I could meet them half way when I stood firm they went back to their office, came back out snatch the keys off the table and informed they could not do the deal over a couple hundred dollars. He did how ever shake my hand and ignored my father. I bid them good day walked out and received the follow unprofessional text message from a salesman. Salesman: "R u serious. You had me fax a buyers order to ***** and you said we didn't have a deal. I take my job very serious and i do not appriciate being jerked around" followed by this text message still with out me responding "I was very clear on the price if u did not want it at ******* which was lower than u wanted you should not have wasted either of our time" I responded with the following: "I take my money serious probably more than ur job, u FAILED to point out the worn out tires, no point in buying new tires for a used car right after I purchased it and you can be sure that a review will be submitted as per ** ******* request don't bother responding u couldn't work with me for a couple hundred bucks....thats how business goes sometimes" Salesman:"No need to getting into a pissing match. I an sure u take ur money serious but really the tires have 15k miles they r not worn that was a way 4 u 2 try 4 [violative content deleted]" Including myself, my family has purchased 4 brand new cars in the central Florida area and have lived here for over 20 years and have never been exposed to this type of unprofessionalism. I'll NEVER GO BACK TO THAT DEALERSHIP AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO FAMILY, FRIENDS OR STRANGERS.

  • Still Plays the Old Car Game

2.3 out of 5 starsby ppraisegod on 09/17/2007

Went to dealer to look at new CX-9. Test drove the car . The sales man was o.k.. The fun started when we went inside . They were still trying to come up with a price for my trade in. I waited and waited and waited. Got up,walked out side . Looked at cars. Went inside....Finally I mentioned to one of the higher ups that I didn't think anyone played this game anymore. He of course said "what game". He got me a trade -in price right away and I laughed and left! Didn't give any deal on 2007 and didn't give a decent trade in price. .

I bought a used 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer for $10K. It had over 110, 000 miles at the time so it did not come with warrantee. I noticed almost immediately after leaving the lot that the brakes were bad. I took it back. They agreed and fixed them. I supposedly had 30 days to report everything wrong. The CD player didn't work. They agreed but wouldn't fix or repair it. Innumerable objects were found later that were in need of repair. They refused to fix any of it because the car had over 100,000. They didn't mind selling me the car with all the things wrong with it, though. They clearly decided not to fix anything else--unless I was willing to pay their full service price. They only fixed the brakes because an accident might bring a law suit against them. The did not care about anything else. I overpaid for a car with a lot of miles on it. Although I expect parts to wear out over time, I didn't think any dealership would sell something they knew was bad and refuse to fix it. Caveat emptor! That is fair warning. It ESPECIALLY applies to Sport Mazda in Orlando, FL.
