  • Used Cars - Poor Negotiating- High fees

    We went in today to purchase a used car, ours was rear-ended and totaled. I told the salesman we had a budget and the car was at the top end, and needed to know if he would negotiate. He said they wanted to sell us a car as would work with us. We made an offer for the car and he took it to the general manager, Cedric. Cedric said the price is the price, there’s no negotiation. But the price isn’t the price, they add another $999 in dealer profit to the taxes title and fees. CarMax charges $599, as do other area dealers. We ended up purchasing the car because we were stuck, but were disappointed the dealer reneged on their comment to work with us including gouging on fees. I won’t be a return customer.

    Our salesman was great - Joe Jordan. They managed to find us the car we wanted (the hybrid with Premium package) in the color I wanted, and got it here in a week. Joe explained the car's features to us and was really knowledgeable.

    I had an excellent experience with Lexus of Tampa Bay. I live outside this area and they were very good about communicating with me in advance of my trip to test drive the auto of interest. I was definitely at ease with my trade of a 2013 Es 350 to a 2024 Es 350. This is my third ES and have found it very reliable. I found Salesperson, Matthew Swan easy to work with along with their finance manager, Mattrew. The entire process went very smoothly. Thank you Tampa Bay.

    Excellent experience! Because we live outside the local area, We dealt mostly by phone, text, and email. We would recommend Lexus of Tampa dealership to anybody desiring a fair trade & purchase of a new vehicle. We traded in our 2017 RX450h for a 2023 RX450e. This car is for my wife who absolutely loves it. Ben Scharf, our sales agent was extremely helpful and had everything lined up for our arrival and purchase. He facilitated the smooth transition and procurement. He is a true professional. We would definitely recommend him as a superior customer sales rep.

    After an exhausting couple of months car shopping I ended up at Lexus of Tampa looking for reliability that meets luxury. I found that and more. I had a fantastic experience. Hamza showed me a couple of options to test drive. Instantly fell in love with the RX 350. Daniel Rashawn stepped in and helped close my deal (I repeat: my deal).     Our sales person was the easiest, most helpful person we have ever dealt with (and we are 77 years of age) when buying a new car. We made our purchase on a Saturday and the dealership was VERY busy, but she did not let herself get distracted, dedicating her time to helping us. Everyone in the dealership seemed committed to making the customer experience pleasant...a breath of fresh air in the car-buying marketplace.

    I arrived at the designated time and didn’t realize that it would take a couple hours later to be done with the deal. Aside from that Ben Schaeffer was an awesome guy and kept me updated the whole time. I would definitely buy another car from Ben.

    Being an internet shopper, the assistance I needed was a little different from their usual sale. The sales manager I dealt with, needed to go out of his way to make this sale work and he did. Everyone I came in contact with by email or phone, went out of their way to assist me.

    Great Lexus RX 350. Great sales folks. Maria and Arianna are great to work with. Had made a deal with a deposit that management would not honor. Forced to pay more for the car if we wanted it. Careful of managements fraudulent tactics. The girls worked very hard on the dirt agreed contract.
