  • Gross negligence

1 out of 5 starsby Michael Brooks on 01/02/2025

Do not use Gwinnett CDJR for service for your vehicle! Their service department is very negligent. They will ignore potential issues until they can stick you with a huge repair bill. Took our GLADIATOR in for a wobble issue. They identified a steering damper that went bad. They also claimed all four tires needed to be replaced. They’ve rotated our tires 5 times and not once ever mentioned anything about uneven wear. Now, all of a sudden, 4 tires went bad in the last 2-3k miles since our last service? So I’m on the hook for about 1,500 with of tires because your mechanics failed to give us a heads up on any of the prior 5 visits? Could have been identified much earlier and had fewer tires impacted.
  • Ongoing Issues with Vehicle Service at Gwinnett CDJR

I’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience with Five Star Automotive Gwinnett CDJR Dealership, and I feel obligated to share it to help others avoid similar issues. Since I first brought my car here, it has faced one problem after another, with zero accountability and shockingly poor service. For background, I usually took my vehicle to another dealership further away, but I decided to try this location because it’s closer. I’ve always kept up with maintenance and never had issues—until coming here. For reference, I have a 2013 Dodge Journey with around 150k miles on it. Here’s a timeline of events: • June 7: I brought my car in for a check engine light (code P0302). They recommended several services, including a coolant flush, induction service, ignition coil replacement, tire balance, and power steering service, which I paid for. ($1,400) • June 28: I returned with the same check engine light (code P0302). This time, they replaced the spark plugs (~$500). Due to a system issue, they couldn’t give me a receipt and promised to email it, but I later found out my service advisor was fired shortly after this visit. • July 1: I went back again for the check engine light. After three days, I was informed that no work had been done, despite being told earlier that the car was “running fine.” I disputed the previous charge because I never received a receipt, and my new service advisor was also fired that day. • July 15: My car overheated and had to be towed to the dealership. They advised that I needed a new engine, which I agreed to, and we ordered it after a down payment on July 19 ($3,500). • July 24: Following another delay due to the service manager’s unprofessional behavior, they informed me they wouldn’t work on my car. Thankfully, Michael Haywood, the General Manager, assured me on July 25 that the repairs would be done. Despite this, my car continued to have issues; the mechanic reportedly broke parts during the repair, leading to a catalytic converter replacement. • August 21: After a final payment ($3,200), I took the car home. However, as soon as the primary driver started using it in October, it leaked oil and transmission fluid within days. When I returned on October 21 to address these new issues, they informed me I’d be responsible for the transmission repair costs. After months of back-and-forth visits, multiple repairs, and thousands of dollars spent, I’m left with a car in worse condition than when I first brought it in. This dealership’s lack of quality control, constant staff turnover, and disregard for customer concerns have made this a nightmare. I strongly urge anyone considering this location for service to look elsewhere for a more stable and reliable dealership.
  • The Worst

1 out of 5 starsby Keith Long on 02/19/2024

I use this service center for my 2012 Jeep and 2014 RAM. On my Jeep it was running hot I brought it in and advised my Advisor Tiffany that it was the thermostat. The tech misdiagnosed and changed the clutch fan without even looking at the thermostat, I picked it up and it broke down on me the same day. Then after paying for a clutch fan when I didn't need one, I had to pay for the original problem the thermostat. Now 10 days ago my Ram 1500 transmission went out Power train error code and all, slipped bad into the service center. I have top of the top-of-the-line Endurance warranty. All the dealership has to do is diagnose and make the call. To get me a transmission. 10 days I can't even get anyone on the phone to leave a message for a manager Wilson twice no callback, and his voice message says will get to you at his earliest convenience. This company 3 weeks ago on my Ram had to do a service repair for the oil pump. Endurance covered it 100 percent it was only $180. I was told I needed to pay almost $500 for my part because my warranty didn't cover it 100 percent. Not true I was being overcharged but because I ASKED about the charges there was no answer and the charges disappeared. Now my Ram transmission has been slipping and on each service entry for my Ram, I've asked my advisor to have them check it out to see if it was transmission or motor mount. They never test-drove it checked it out or followed up with me about it. I decided to not drive it far so it didn't put me down out of town since I use it for business. Now 10 days later best warranty around, bad transmission, and Bad Jeep service center and Management. And I didn't have my work vehicle. I have lost wages uneccesarrily, due to lack of communication, improper diagnoses, and loss of time.

My wife and have have purchased a total of 5 new vehicles from Gwinnett Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram since the fall of 2013 and we will continue to do so as long as he's the salesperson. We are very pleased with his professionalism, dedication to product detail, and his manners. We recommend him to all of our friends and relatives. Thank you Mike for serving us.!! He gets an "A++" in our book!
  • Please Please please don't trust this dealer! They SCAM a lot

1 out of 5 starsby AdarshRe on 12/13/2016

I am Adarsh Reddy Donthi, I bought my Chrysler 300S vehicle on August 29th 2016 from Gwinnett Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram located in 5054 US-78, Stone Mountain, GA 30087. But one month back I had to move to Newark Delaware for job purposes, as a part of regular car maintenance I wanted to service my vehicle so visited the nearest Brandywine Chrysler in Newark, Delaware. But they refused to service my vehicle and they told me they would charge me for it. When I purchased my vehicle the dealer (you) had promised me free service until certain miles or 12 services free or 36000 miles whichever comes first. You (dealer) cheated me by making false promises. When I tried to call you back where I purchased from, you have asked me come down to their location to service my vehicle or I need to pay! So what do you mean? Should I drive my vehicle only Atlanta, Georgia? Should I never move to another place? If that is the case I will file a legal case against the dealer and Chrysler to take back and vehicle and refund me all the money which I spent. This is how Chrysler treats their customers? So in near future If I encounter mechanical failures out of state when the vehicle is under warranty, do I need to tow my vehicle to their location to get it repaired. Please take back my vehicle and refund me the complete amount. This is the first and last time I would be contacting you on this, after this you would have to directly contact my attorney to solve this. I am a sensitive guy and have been under severe mental pressure that I was cheated, the dealer was very rude to me over phone. Please take my car back for cheating me, I will buy a car in Newark, Delaware so that I can service my vehicle in my state. I will take this to my attorney and senior management of Chrysler. When I went to the nearest dealer, he opened the contract and said that the dealer has not added oil changes to my contract. But when I contacted you people, you were continuously mentioning that the contract is valid in South east states. If it has never been added to the contract how the dealers in other would states service my vehicle. Even the dealer in other state might open the contract and tell that the dealer did not add that into your contract. Is that the case same with the life time warranty which you guys provided? Is it only valid in Georgia? Should I never move out of Georgia? Should I spend my whole life time until I have this car in Georgia? What do you mean? Why haven't you provided me with the contract after I purchased the Vehicle? Isn't this cheating? Why did you hide the contract? You guys have made me think in the other way as well. While I was buying the vehicle I was told different and you have manipulated the documents (I need an investigation to be conducted). I have all the proof about what you have promised. You knew this situation would happen before hand, at the point where I have registered my vehicle in Illinois. You have hidden all the terms and conditions. While I was buying the vehicle you told me that I can get free oil changes nationwide knowing that I will be registering the vehicle out of state. Isn't this cheating? I need all the contract documents which I have signed, along with the clear terms and conditions. (including life time power train warranty, I want you to send every single document in which my name is mentioned or where I have signed, along with your ad posted on your website). I have evidences from my end ad well! You people need to be taught a lesson, so that other customers don't get cheated. I will fight until I get justice, or just take back my vehicle so that I will purchase a vehicle with a new dealer in other state. I would also report this to the State Attorney General of Illinois and Georgia, Better Business Bureau, Consumer Fraud department of Illinois and Georgia, State Consumer Protection Agency, Federal Trade commission for cheating me. I need my paper work by the end of this week. Let’s sought out this issue in the court. I will take this issue to Chrysler using Customer Satisfaction Survey which you have sent to me. I need to speak with the general manager or sales manager at the dealership. I am not happy with the situation and I need to fill out the CSS soon. I don't know how this will impact but I can take my concern to senior management using this and tell them that I was cheated.
  • SCAM dealership

    1 out of 5 starsby scientist6 on 07/27/2015

I had really bad experience with these guys. Sales and service. CHECK THE NUMBERS IN THE CONTRACT. I have absolutely sure that will be wrong. I asked and he just said the overall price was the same we discussed earlier. Disgusting! The most ridiculous part was other sales guy yelling at the corredor saing to other "potential" buyer that the car was sold, pathetic. They are bellow zero. It is not just incompetence, it is moral issues as well.
  • This Dealership Is a SCAM

1 out of 5 starsby queensmall on 05/05/2015

BEWARE of there SCAM! I went in on Saturday May 2, 2015 to purchase a 2015 Jeep Patriot. They advertised they had a special going on with $4,305 OFF the regular price of $20,680. Which ended up being $16,375 with the $4,305 discount. I was putting $8,000 down and financing $8,375. As I was signing the papers and not really reading. The car salesman Ozzie came back with a paper with numbers on them so I started to pay attention because I had to sign the paper that had the price. As I look over the pricing my remaining balance was $15,000 and something and I ask him how is this possible that makes no sense because I'm pretty much paying the car half off. He couldn't explain. So I then asked him what is a Service Agreement and why is it $2,800. He claim it was an extended warranty. I asked him why would I need to purchase an extended warranty when all new cars automatically comes with warranty's. He went and removed the $2,800 with no hesitation. He came back and the numbers was still off. So I double checked it again and it had by Trade In Value $1,500. I ask him what was that for because I wasn't trading in a vehicle. He went and removed the $1,500 with no hesitation and claim the numbers are in there system by default and it was a mistake. I started to think well who else have these guys tricked since it's supposedly in their system by default. When he came back the third time I was like something doesn't seem right. I told him, You guys pretty much tried to overcharge me $4,300 and if I would have signed and not paid attention my $8,000 would have went down the drain. I told him you're claiming to give me $4,305 off just to recharge it in [non-permissible content removed] fees that don't exist. I also told him that he removed the fees with no hesitation because he couldn't explain to me why was they there in the first place. The only excuse he had was the fees are in the system by default which is not a good excuse and are complete lies if you ask me. I also asked him why would you charge me a Service Fee when you're charging me a $675 dealers fee. He had no explanation. He started to get mad. He had an attitude and he was angry because his scam did not work. They tell you their giving you $4,305 off just to add bogus fees to your bill to still get the money they claim their giving you off. I was disgusted that they were so deceitful so I told him it was no way in hell I was going do business with them. I can understand if it was a mistake the first time but two times in a row its a scam and his attitude really told on him. He was nice as long as he could trick me but he became [non-permissible content removed] once I realize their SCAM. Do NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE GUYS if you do please check your numbers before you sign. They are con-artistes that need to be shut down. They all should be ashamed of themselves manipulating and stealing peoples hard earn money.

Quoted us a monthly rate with a 4.5% interest. We agreed to after they said they couldn't go lower on the monthly rate. We actually got a 1.5% rate so they took the savings and listed them as other charges. One charge they printed on the line, you couldn't even really see it. Didn't figure this out until later. Our mistake but very shady on their part. Discussed with manager with no results. Won't go back.
  • Packing deals, scamming dollars

1 out of 5 starsby stealerships on 06/19/2014

I should have seen their D- rating on the better business bureau site and left but they had an awesome deal on a car I wanted. From the get go, they spent more time trying to pack the deal with unwanted bs that costed thousands of dollars and actually brought the price of the car above msrp. When I refused, the business manager threw a fit. I guess he had a boat payment past due.
  • Service department is lacking big time

This service department is the closest one to my home, so that is the ONLY reason I have used it. I have a back window leak and the headliner is ruined. I have taken my truck to this department a total of 3 times and each time they had my truck for over two days. This last time, the 3rd time, they promised me it was perfect. Yeah right. After a night of rain we now have a completely ruined head liner and water in the truck due to their lack of knowledge and concern. I have left messages with all parties, no return call. They are lacking in compassion, communication, knowledge, customer service skills, and any type of urgency. Go somewhere else. It will save you a big headache. Even the service manager and general manager won't call you back. There is a reason that this place is going through "new managment" like new underware. Don't use them!!

After several exchanges of emails and phone contacts regarding the purchase of an Avenger using the internet price as a guide. We agreed to meet and test drive the car prior to purchase as I wanted to see both the 4cyl and V6 model. Went to the dealer to purchase car. Spend about 30 -45 minutes talking about the car, the prices etc.. However once we sat down to write out the contract details I was informed that the internet price includes several rebates that I was not eligible for hence the price would be another $2000. Nowhere in the ad does it state what programs and I'm not sure most people would quality as a military vet, owning both a VW and dodge in order to get what one would assume is a true advertized price. I would expect that a dealer that prides itself on honesty would specify upfront what the criteria is to get the "special web" price. Needless to say I wasted a 45 mile drive that could have been adverted with upfront honesty

Your Stone Mountain Service Tech Brad hustled me out of $118 yesterday. He folded the paper to hide a price(which says $129)told me to sign and DID NOT go over the cost for service PRIOR to service. Then he proceeded to be rude saying "You should read what you sign before you sign it!" I experienced THE WORST EVER customer service at your facility. Brad was rude and disrespectful and obviously desperate to make a quota. I do not recommend this facility. Finally, Brad told me I needed $1175 work on my car but after his behavior I went to get a 2nd opinion and my problem was fixed for less than $20 bucks!

One would think that a business strives to satisfy the customer... not the case here. I signed a contract to purchase a vehicle with the agreement that the dealership would pay off the loan for my trade-in. I get a call from my loan company 2 weeks later stating that the check from Gwinnett Chrysler Dodge Jeep was $4000 dollars short! I called the dealership and the sales manager stated, "Yeah, we were going to call you..." Riiiiight. The dealership refused to admit their mistake and conveniently the salesman that wrote the contract had been out since I called. Also, conveniently, the female staff that was supposed to double-check the payoff was not available... Long story, short, they tried to get me to sign a new contract to include the $4000 dollars. The only other option they gave me was for me to pay $4000 out of pocket! I got my trade-in back and the dealership had the nerve to give me a bill on the work they did to my trade-in! The store manage stated he was "frustrated and irritated" with me. This place is unprofessional. They do not value your business. They did not make any attempt to correct or even apologize. DO NOT purchase a vehicle from here.
