Service department MIA in fulfilling their discussed arrangements
by Gene Pellegrene on 02/18/2025I went to Arlington Heights GMC with a morning appointment on Feb 6th. I needed to remedy a key fob/remote issue for my Tahoe. I had an aftermarket key fob (2nd one, they worked in the past). The key fob was only working intermittently and… only at a very close distance to the car, then it would stop working after 10 min or so. I suspected something wrong with the remote receiver in the Tahoe. Arlington Heights GMC assessed the situation while I waited, came back to me with their solution of getting a GM OEM key Fob and I approved their solution and the fee. The service took about 3 hours and the cost was $689.00 for the OEM fob and the programming. The service was completed, I paid and the serviceman, Marc and I went out to the car, but the new OEM key fob was not working. Marc grabbed his Service Manager, Mike Baker to discuss and it was decided that I may have to come back in for service to further assess the issue with the remote system. I left the dealership discouraged and decided to stop at a local auto parts store to purchase $12.00 worth of fuses to replace all the fuses part of the remote system. No old fuses were blown, but did have a slight amber patina to them. I replaced the 4/5 fuses related to the remote fob and the vehicle remote system operated as it should and continued to operate properly. It was fixed due to the replacement of the fuses. I saved the old fuses and tested the remote for a bit of time before calling the dealership with my grievance. I talked to Mike Baker (service Manager) over the phone and he said if it's still functioning properly, it would appear to be the fuses that caused the malfunction and to connect with him on the following Monday (February 10). I felt the fuses should have been checked during the remote/key fob diagnosis, it is part of the system and easy to check. Mike seemed to agree. Mike said if he didn't hear from me, he would call me and stated we would come to a fair agreement of some payment reimbursement. I called on Tuesday (Feb 11), left a message for Mike. I didn't hear from him and called again a few days later and left another message, no return call from the dealership. Seems I'm being brushes off and they aren't keeping their word. I've been patient and kind throughout this process and I feel their service manager is being very unprofessional by not returning my calls and fulfilling prior obligation he stated to me.Brock’s review

Accessories
by Ric Warchol on 08/25/2022I choose to purchase accessories directly from GMC and have them installed by GMC. I think its the best combination for quality parts and quality installation. Dealership never called to let me know the parts arrived. Once I learned the… accessories were at the dealership, the appointment set up went smoothly, quick day available, and the check in at dealership was polite and welcoming. The pick up was smooth, even though there was NO MORE interaction with service dept or installers. Cashier was only interaction. She did her job and gave me the receipts and the keys and told me the vicinity of my car in the lot. From that point forward I guess that I must contact the manufacturer of the accessory to see how it works and figure out the operation. The mounting of the dash cam, was not thought out by the installer as access is not available to some buttons you need access to. I believe this was this dealerships first installation of the new GMC Accessory and I suppose I would have been better off going to an outside source for installation. I previously had another accessory installed by this dealership, chrome hood nose protector, and was unhappy with the sloppiness of the adhesives on the paint. For a brand new $94,000 Yukon Denali I expect careful thoughtful service, with some service manager double checking completed workRic, we appreciate you leaving this honest feedback about your experience. Dealership responded with an obvious shallow generic response. You can read it in this string. They ask me to call the dealership so they can learn more about my visit. Strange they didn't say who to ask for. Maybe the receptionist that answers the phone will go over the installation with me and explain how it works. 🤔

New Left rear taillight ++++
by Mr. Bill on 01/24/2022Oil Change ,replace cabin filter, induction service, trans fluid exchange, brake fluid exchange, replace rear brake pads, all the latter went well. Left rear taillight a different story, Tech replacing taillight assembly attempted to… pull more wire and shorted out assembly, blew fuse, and blew bulb. I picked up the 2008 Buick Lucerne on Friday and nobody checked to make sure everything I drove all weekend with no taillight brought it back in on Monday and they returned the car on Wednesday AM. Brian Poteracki has been my Service Writer for a number of years and was the one who got this all straightened out and had the car delivered to my home. I do not blame him any of this, the Tech should have made sure the car was ready for delivery.Thank you for taking the time to write this review.
