Do they even inspect their used cars?
by fx_artist_131 on 09/20/2016I purchased a used 2001 Jeep wrangler sport from this dealership. All seemed well, they were nice people, seemed honest, gave me a good price on the car, however things went from bad to worse from there. I know "as is" means the… dealership assumes no liability for anything wrong with the car after purchase, and can agree to that. However, the brakes went out on my drive home nearly killing me. They said they would fix it, and after having it in their shop for 5 days, said new brake lines were all that was needed. After that incident, I decided to have my mechanic take a look at it, again a step I know I should have taken prior to purchase, turns out brake pads are bad, only rear brake lines were run, al fluids were filled with junk, meaning they hadn't even changed the fluids out for new before selling the car. The car was well over half of what the sales price was in repairs to be done, and it leads me to ask the questions "Do they even check their used cars before selling them?" How do say you fix the brakes that almost killed a customer on their drive home from a dealership without actually replacing the brake fluid, actual issue, or doing all the work you said you were?" All in all this is a dealership fukl of people with poor standards or people who care more about money than road safe vehicles. As someone with PTSD, who had to sell my car due to the cost of my treatments - I thought buying a used car from a Berman dealership, to help me get to and from my appointments - was a good idea. Good name, generally good practices, but in this case it seems I was wrong. I could have bought the car from some shady underpass used car dealer and somehow had less problems than I am with this one. They might have even checked the vehicle for safety and checked the fluids before sale of the vehicle. I cannot urge you go somewhere else to purchase your used vehicle, in fact run in the opposite direction. Do not trust that because the Berman name is on the dealership, that it implies any quality or quality control.Maria was awesome!!!

On May 2016 I bought a car from them, during the buying process they assured me the interest rate they found for me is the best in the market and they did not… tell me what was the rate. Later on I find out it was 11.5% with 600 credit score. I also find out they only checked my credit once and that was through Nissan motor finance company. I do not recommend enyone to shop from this dealer, not even my enemies.Great experience

The dealership was great and I was able to get a great deal on this car even though my interest rate is little bet high. Cant blame no one but myself for that. I felt a bit awkward introducing myself to some of the other sales… reps, but Maria was welcoming and non judgmental. She was extremely friendly and made the experience enjoyable. Salesman (Luis) was easy-going, knowledgeable, and he wasn't pushy about the deal. In negotiating a price, he came back to me with some great… incentives. Working with the finance person toward the end was the only time the sale felt pushy (while discussing warranty options). Final pricing came out $1000 to $1,500 less than any other Nissan dealers that I talked to.Nice dealership

Thank you all for the professional help in the purchase of the new Nissan pickup for my Mother. This team was very helpful, informative and explained… about all the features of the pickup truck. The best thing is that, they took the extra time to make sure that my 86 yr old father understood all the features and service requirements. The peak of my troubles happened just recently when I found out the (supposed) 2012 Hyundai Sonata *SE* (sports edition) Mid City sold me was only… a 2012 Hyundai Sonata *GLS* (base edition). My paperwork reads SE but when I called Hyundai USA to verify my VIN they confirmed the car was indeed a GLS. The VIN on my paperwork matches the car which matches the GLS model from the manufacturer- yet Mid City claimed it as an SE which is a few thousand dollars more expensive. When I called Mid City to explain this the General Manager, Chuck S., said it is in their records as SE and nothing can be done except for me to sell it back to them (at a major loss, of course). Though Mid City claims their records show it as an SE my bank, Chase, says the documentation received from Mid City all reads GLS. The best part is that I paid thousands more for something I did not get! Also note that Mid City will have you sign an Arbitration Agreement that prevents the customer from taking Mid City to court for anything. Other issues: -Mid City was unable to provide my car's title within Illinois' grace period. During this time my drive-away license had expired and I was forced to drive 100 miles to my parents house to use a spare car. I was then forced to get another temporary license. I was never compensated for any of this.Horrible Financing Department

Got our desired vehicle trim for the price we want. The problem started with the Finance guy,… Luke, your typical [non-permissible content removed] car guy. He was very arrogant and deceitful, he hid an extended warranty in our quote, good thing we were able to discover it and have it cancelled. MidCity Nissan would have been a better car dealership without this guy. Beware!My Nissan Sentra

I never took the car outside Mid City Nissan for service. Everytime I bring it back from them, its like my car is loving the care… they give it. It responds smoother than before, and all the troubles are sorted out. I get my car back all washed up, and gleaming. Nick there, calls me, and attends to all my unearthly requests. The best part is that, they are very pocket friendly. My next car, too is goanna be from Mid City Nissan. Thanks guys.Very Honest!

Nick there was helpful and attentive, listening before "pitching", which was very unlike other sales people. In fact, there was no "pitch" at all. He was very honest and personable,… pointing out the advantages and drawbacks of various cars. The best thing about Nick was that he never resorted to "trashing" other makes or dealers. He even stayed late to help us out, gave us time alone to think things through. Nick is highly recommended all around. We would definitely recommend Mid City Nissan in general and Nick in particular to anyone who asked. Hope to have many happy miles with our brand new Nissan Sentra.Transmission Shot

I was very concerned when I took it to them, but surprisingly, the attitude of the guys at Mid City Nissan relaxed me a lot.… They took the vehicle in immediately. Kevin mentioned that it was some minor glitch which they could sort out in a jiffy, and just as he said, they did. Well, as my car was still in warranty, I was not charged at all!!..A Very Good Delearship

My wife, and son too is very satisfied with their service. The sales department have always been honest, helpful and courteous and the… service department too prompt and quick to respond. They always get the job done. My latest Nissan X-trail buying experience too was very nice. A very good dealership.
