  • What a pleasant experience

    I went in to Honda Superstore of Joliet to browse around. I was just starting the process of looking at new and used cars available and hadn't really made up my mind yet. The salesman showed me a used vehicle perfect for my needs and in my price range. After a test drive and considering my trade, the deal was done. Easiest car purchase I have ever made. In no time I was in my 'new' vehicle. I am completely delighted with the vehicle and was very comfortable with the dealership. No pressure and they were fair. Will buy my next vehicle there too.

  • Confused Managers

    I really didn't have a pleasant transaction, the salesman was OK, the management in the other hand were unprofessional and confusing. Here is what happened: I was there on Saturday to finalize the purchase of my Honda Odyssey, around 4PM after around 1 hours and half they noticed my name was not in the insurance card, I know I was under the policy. Management didn't want to accept a verbal confirmation from the claims department neither an older policy, they suggested I can go home and retrieve it, but then didn't want to do that claiming they can not work past 5:30PM. Anyways on Monday I faxed the information and asked if anything else is needed. As first time buyer, I didn't now know everything, and I was planing to use my credit card for the deposit, unfortunately I was surprise that only 2K can go on the credit cards and starter checks are not acceptable, as I like the car and I'm not a picky customer I sent a friend of mine to pick up my check book and we were done two hours later. In summary my suggestion is to hand out a checklist for dummies like me, so they don't have to waist time and get frustrated or reschedule doctors appointment because they have to wait couple days to get the car they are ready to pay for.
    • The unfortunate thing about policy is that it may not always make the most sense or be understood by all parties involved, however it is followed for a reason. The above purchase took place at the end of a Saturday, when we do indeed close at 5:30pm. There were other people still in the store at that time so the statement about not working after closing time was a bit exaggerated. We had consumated the deal in principle at roughly 5pm at which point we proceeded to begin the paperwork process. Upon reviewing the collected and necessary documentation it was seen that the customer's name was not shown on the provided insurance card nor were the dates current. At that time we attempted to call the agency as well as allowed the customer to utilize the managers computer to check online for proof of insurance that could be printed out or at least varified. At that point we had reached an impass on the grounds of no proof of insurance and no amount of explanation could make this necessary part of our paperwork "disappear". We do not cut corners or make exceptions when collecting documentation for the purchase of a vehicle. During the discussion it was determined that the POI may not be valid at the customer's residence so there was indeed no need to stay an additional hour or so to find this was also not valid. As a management team, both Finance and Sales, we tried to explain the importance of the insurance info to the best of our abilities and requested that we make arrangements once the appropriate documents could be arranged and faxed to us by the agent listing the customer as the insured. Unfortunately it is a difficult thing to put on the metaphorical brakes when making a purchase of this size and we understand the frustration. We do our best in every situation to be non-confrontational and simply state what we need and why. We do the best to be accomodating during the purchase process regarding timelines, forms, necessary documentation but we always make sure that they are provided. Our rules are in place to protect not only us as the business but to protect the consumer purchasing the vehicle and the rest of the public who will soon be coexisting with that driver and vehicle on the road.

    Recently I went down to the dealership to talk about car. The salesman was very arrogant and was always rushing. The finance guy and the sales guys are [violative content deleted]. Stay away from this dealer. They are a rip-off

    My sales associate was brand new, but I was still disappointed that he did not have much knowledge of the Honda I was considering. I was ready to make the deal that day, but the attitude of attempting to confuse and swindle as opposed to professionally negotiate, was a big turn off. Although the associate knew in advance that I was planning to purchase with an Eloan check, they didn't decide they didn't accept Eloan checks until the end of the deal. They said they don't take Eloan or Capital One. My experience was not straight forward. They tried to convince me that dealing with Eloan was going to be full of hidden problems, and that it would be better for me to get thier financing even at a higher rate. They refuse to even tell me availlable rates. I prefer to deal with people who know their product and shoot straight with negotiations. This associate treated me cordially, but as if I did not have a brain. Perhaps the inexperience of the associate (said he had only been on the job 1 week) contributed to the problems. Bottom line for me was a major waste of time.
    • In response to the above review, I would like to respond as an employee and Manager of Honda of Joliet. An unfortunate inevitability of the automotive sales industry is turnover. Our store has drastically increased in the volume of sales in the past year and as a result we have some folks added on who are new not only to Honda but to our store. Agreed, lack of product knowledge is frustrating for the consumer but equally so for the sales crew and the management. I would guess the the inexperience was cause of the back and forth and the percieved swindling. We have a very reliable and trustworthy sales crew who takes pride in our handling of not only new customers but our repeat buyers as well. Our customer satisfaction ratings speak for themselves in that regard. I can speak from experience in that I came to work here with the intention of working while going back to school for a masters in education. Needless to say, I found a home here. I have been employed here for over four years now and without a thought of leaving for greener pastures. The only reason I stay is that this is both a comfortable place to work because of the low pressure atmosphere, and a comfortable place to do business for those who don't like "playing the game" as most folks call it. We take all reviews, good and bad, to heart because this is our business and all of our second homes. We treat people as if they are guests in our house and we'd like to keep them coming back for years and years. Are we always perfect? No, but that is why we appreciate feedback so that we can continue to make shopping at Honda of Joliet one of the best car-buying experiences out there. In this day and age of increased competition we have to try and make our store memorable for the quality treatment and quality product we offer and not by creating a negative expectation of our dealership. We encourage any guest who does not feel that they were treated in a courteous and compassionate manner to contact one of the managers so that we may personally address the issue. I can speak for all the managers here when I say we have worked very hard to make Honda of Joliet one of the fastest growing dealerships in the area and a special place to do business.

    Oren made my first car buying experience the greatest. He was very forward and upfront about which vehicle would more than likely best suit me and what also would fit best within my budget. Oren did not try to pull anything over my head or pressure me into buying something I did not want or like. Oren made buying a car a smooth process. He treated me as if I was his own daughter buying a car and that made not only me but my parents very happy. I would send anyone thinking about purchasing a new or used car to Oren in a heartbeat! Such a genuine man with a great heart and it shows in his work!

    I submitted an internet quote request for a Honda Accord. I was immediately contacted by Joe C. After being disillusioned by an experience with another dealer, Joe was a breath of fresh air. He was very knowledgeable and was able to find the exact vehicle I wanted at a price that piqued my interest. More importantly, Joe made me feel that he really cared about me and meeting my needs. I would recommend Joe C. at Honda of Joliet to anyone. He really made my experience enjoyable.

    I dreaded having to purchase a new car only because my prior experiences with dealers had not been so good. Nobody enjoys a high pressure negotiation process and many dealers need to learn that. Joliet Honda appears to have, at least from my experience. Having already driven one Accord at another dealership, Levi did not have to do much in terms of selling the car itself. However, what he did do was make the negotiating experience the best I have had at a dealership. I had my price point in mind based on research performed on Edmunds and Levi's price was just a couple hundred dollars more. He said there was no way he would lose a sale over a couple hundred dollars and he matched my price. Done. A Honda dealer in Matteson started off the negotiations at MSRP and played the typical sales games so I left. Had they gone to the school of Levi, they would have got my business.

    This had to be the easiest car purchase that I have ever made. No pressure to purchase and the salesman Mike R. was able to give me a good price. He explained everything and made the whole experience a pleasure rather than a chore. I have been to other dealers for previous car purchases and always felt like I was taken advantage of. I give a rating of 10 to Mike and the many people behind the scenes that made this purchase possible. Thanks again and the next time I need a car you will be first to know!! :-) Thanks again to everyone at Honda of Joliet!!!

    This Honda dealership did an excellent job to sell the car. Atmosphere was good, everybody was very friendly and helpful. I worked with Josh T. and he did a great job. I was in a rush to buy a new Honda accord and he made it happen. He was straight to the point, and that is what I wanted. He was very considerate, helpful, and didn't beat around the bush. I recommend this dealership to everyone nearby who are interested in purchasing a Honda vehicle.

    We have been looking for a mid-sized truck to haul a boat. The Ridgeline we bought was first located online. Called and spoke with Mike R. Mike personally went out to the lot to confirm the vehicle was there and described it in detail. Explained to Mike we would be trading in a vehicle. Got to the dealership same day and Mike transfered us to another salesman, Josh T. Josh was very, very thorough in explaining the vehicle to us. We went on a test drive during a rain storm and were very please with how the vehicle handled. Josh went over the details of the warranty, loan availability, trade in values and the option to lease a vehicle. Our neighbors bought their Ridgeline at Honda of Joliet and were very pleased and recommended you. Were are also very pleased and will recommend you to others.

    I recently purchased a Honda Accord from Honda of Joliet. When I first stopped I wasn't really sure what vehicle I was looking for. I fell in love with the Accord. Josh approached me, gave me a price quote, and encouraged me to shop around to make sure it was the vehicle for me. The price and customer service played a significant factor in my returning to that dealership and purchasing a car. Everyone I encountered there were friendly and informative. I definately recommend stopping at this dealership and speaking with Josh T. when shopping for your next car. He made the whole car buying process a pleasant experience. I plan on telling all my friends and family to think about a Honda, and talking to Josh if they do. A very satisfied Honda customer Amy

    My wife and I worked with Mike De Bendetti and Andrew Brick. These guys were great and we really enjoyed working with them. They were honest people that dealt with us fairly and reasonably. We did not feel like we were "being sold". I will definitely go back when it's time to replace our Odyssey.

    Oren was awesome to work with. I spoke to him on the phone in the morning about a used truck. I had asked him for specific pictures and he would take them and send them to me. I called back later and told him I was coming up to look at it and I would bring my trade in. Oren was off that night but came in on his time off to work with me. I called his cell phone and he would answer even when he was not at work. I drove 120 miles one way to do business here and Oren made it worth while! Thanks Oren! If you are looking for a vehicle, give Oren a call, you'll be glad you did.

    Angel and Kurt were the best salesmen I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I went to 3 different Honda stores and 2 other dealerships and they were the best by a long shot. They were courteous and resourceful. I was not exactly sure what I wanted at first and Angel was quick to help with suggesting ideas to get me where I needed to be. Overall outstanding, I hope they are around when I am ready to buy again. PS. I never actually take the time for these surveys but I felt they deserved it!

    I had an amazing experience buying from Honda of Joliet. It began with Jacqulin R. responding to my online request for a quote on an Odyssey. She immediately provided pricing rather than being vague and trying to get you into the dealer like many other dealers did. As we went back and forth over the week, she promptly responded to all of my emails and answered my questions directly. We were able to establish an out the door price before I ever walked into the dealership. Jacqulin was out on Saturday, so I spoke with Joe C. over the phone. He was very professional and kind, gathering the details of my discussions with Jacqulin and arranging a meeting for me to close the sale. When I arrived, I was greeted by Mike R., who took care of me the rest of the day. Mike was very professional and friendly. He was open and honest about every aspect of the deal. He did not waste my time with a low ball offer on my trade in. He offered what he could and I accepted as it was very fair. The whole experience was very positive, which is very unusual for a car dealer. There was never any pressure to buy this or that throughout the entire process. I told Mike that I will be returning to work with him the next time we need a new vehicle. I cannot recommend Honda of Joliet enough.

    I called this dealership to confirm were they were located. A gentleman named Kurt H. informed me were they where located and there hours. When i got to the dealership I asked for Kurt. Kurt was GREAT ! He went way out of his way to show me all the cars they had that were in my price range. Kurt was a very easy going and didn't push me into to something I really didn't want. He went out of his way to explain the features the car had. Tool me for a LONG test drive. Show me were the oil and transmission dip sticks were. He even was kind enough to set everything like the lights, door locks to the way I wanted them set, ( That was awesome) The transaction of trading my car and buying another one was outstanding. Even the finance man Dan were Great ! They both worked hard to get me the best deal possible. I have nothing but a wonderful experience doing business with this dealership so if your looking for a car I highly comment Honda Superstore of Joliet! You will not be SORRY !

    My husband and I traveled from Madison, WI to purchase a beautiful used Acura TL from Honda of Joliet and would do it again in a heartbeat! I first contacted Monica H. to inquire about the car and she was extremely helpful. We were able to do everything over email and the phone and she was able to answer all of our questions as well as help us with getting to a final number before we made the 2.5 hour trip. Once we arrived, we worked with Josh T. - He Rocks!!!! Definately one of the most helpful, down to earth car salesman we've ever worked with. We were extremely impressed that he was so knowledgable about our vehicle (even though this was a Honda dealership) and we got the sense right away that he truely cared about us - these type of people are hard to find! Thank you Josh, Monica and the rest of the Honda of Joliet team for a wonderful car buying experience!!!

    I got a great price on Honda Civic 2013 LX and purchased it today - very happy, almost done the whole deal over the phone, got $290 better then anybody else. And while anybody else was saying that I won't get the deal done for that price I went there and got it. Not like other places. Muscle a price a bit and you shall be rewarded.

    I went to Honda of Joliet on a Saturday afternoon after independently completing 1.5 months of research on the Honda Civic models. Prior to going to the dealership, I worked with the Internet Sales department and received thorough feedback and pricing from Krystal Smith (whom I also highly recommend). This was going to be my first new car purchase/finance as well as the biggest purchase I had ever made. I was beyond nervous and mentally prepared for a negotiation battle. As soon as Levi greeted us with the price quote I had already discussed with Krystal in hand, my worries began to dissipate. Never would I have imagined my "car salesman" was going to be someone that I perceived as genuine, down to earth, and honest. Immediately, I felt comfortable and at ease and felt that Levi was letting me guide my own purchase rather than trying to persuade me in any way. The entire time I felt that Levi was providing me with genuine and honest answers to my questions. I never felt rushed despite the fact that the dealership was "closed" halfway through the deal. The best part was that there were no surprises in terms of fees and I already knew exactly what to expect for my final pricing and payments. To top it off, I had received a quote from a nearby dealer that was better than the Honda of Joliet quote and Levi was able to beat that quote without hassle. Levi was professional yet genuine, knowledgable yet able to explain things so that I could easily understand them, patient and extremely personable. I recommend Levi to everyone and anyone. I feel that I was very lucky to have Levi as my salesman and urge anyone interested in buying a car to seek him out and avoid yourself a whole lot of headache. Thank you Levi and Honda of Joliet for making my first car purchase experience a great one!

    Oren gave us exceptional service. My wife was in the previous day of our sale and was helped by Oren. As she was unable to make the purchase that day, Oren went out of his way to come in work the following day, on his day off, and not to mention in the hours close to closing time, only to give us great service and have us walking away with our fourth Honda vehicle. We knew we were making a Honda purchase regardless, but having someone such as Oren to help us made the experience painless. He was friendly, humorous and all in all very helpful in answering any questions we had, as well as providing extra information when needed. I would recommend anyone purchasing a Honda from Joliet to deal with Oren. Of the four Hondas we have purchased, Oren stood out as being the friendliest and most helpful we have encountered. Great job!
