    Took my six month old RAV-4 in for the free service and while was still at breakfast with Ulysses Cantu, the salesman that I leased it from, the service department called me to tell me that my car was ready. When I returned to the dealership not only was my car ready, but they had washed it. A perfect experience!

  • Best Experience Leasing A New Car Ever

    Walked into Classic Toyota to check out the RAV-4 and drove away with it. Working with Ulysses Cantu and Doug Michelson was great. Took a test drive, loved the car, told them the price point I needed and left with a new car. They even took care of the turn in of my leased Honda CR-V. The lease on my wife's car is almost up and I will be going back to Classic for her next car. I highly recommend Mr. Cantu and Classic Toyota.

He was kind, courteous, knowledgeable, and he went above and beyond. He made sure that I knew all of the features on my new and how to use them.     I've owned three Toyota vehicles from 2004, each purchased from different dealerships. I followed my salesman Randy Meyer from the dealership where I purchased my second Toyota and purchased my 2015 from him at Classic. He really worked to satisfy my needs. The service dept is friendly. I'm very happy with the dealership.

    We just leased 2 new cars from Classic. Our sales rep, Randy Meyer, made the process easy and straight forward. This makes 4 cars leased through him in the last 7 years. He gave us an excellent allowance for a trade-in. The resulting price met our budget. We love our Toyotas and expect to continue to do business with Classic for the foreseeable future.

    I have a long time relationship with Classic Toyota. Several vehicles that I leased from Classic and every time their price was unbeatable. As to the sales person - Leo Katznelson, he is REALLY good. The most important thing - he is always honest with the customer. Friendly, no pressure atmosphere. Highly recommend!

  • Friendly, but dishonest

    I bought a used car... was told that the shop had checked things over after I complained about the alignment. Didn't happen. Also, I wrote a check for the car and was assured that it wouldn't affect my credit to do so. I am doing a home loan application and my ONLY inquiry- yep, Classic Toyota- so no I have to explain/document the purchase... hopefully will not affect my loan. The tires are bad- they need a balance, they don't match, and is looking like a belt is broken in the tire. I would have known this if I had been allowed to drive on the highway- but the salesman and manager assured me that the shop had driven it at high speeds and it was fine. Never again. I paid a premium for the car, thinking that a dealer would be a better situation than a private seller. Negotiations were hard because they said the online price was the sale price, although they also said bunches of people were interested in he car- so why on sale? Overall the car seems ok, but obviously, no thanks to them.

    Mark A. is an outstanding Sales Manager at Classic Toyota. He has sold me two vehicles and he's sold my family numerous vehicles over the years. To begin with he's just a super nice person with a remarkable ability to connect with people and customers. He's personable and friendly. He makes buying a vehicle an interaction rather than a transaction. He truly cares for what makes his customers happy and appears to really enjoy his job and do it very well. I trust Mark A. and I don't trust any car dealers! He goes above and beyond the call of his job all the time. If there's anything that is even a small inconvenience, Mark will do it for us. Example- we needed an auto starter put on our new Rav4 and rather than me bringing my car in, he stopped by our home and dropped off a car so I didn't have to go to the Toyota dealer until the next day. He made it very convenient for me to get this service work done. He has given me and our family his cell phone number and last Spring we were in Door Co. with my dad and something wasn't working correctly in his Toyota Sienna and I called Mark Andrews (on vacation) and he told us what button t push to make the Sienna work correctly. It's these little things that make Mark stand out above any other car sales men (or women) that I've ever worked with. People that sell cars have a reputation of always manipulating customers to make them feel like their getting a deal, but they're really not. I don't feel that with Mark. He is transparent with his numbers and offers and shows us exactly where and why he's offering whatever for a trade in. I trust Mark with buying a car and will always work with him when we need a new vehicle. He even called my aunt in CA and helped her make a decision for purchasing her Rav 4 over Labor Day weekend. Mark is very knowledgeable and doesn't waste any time. He's trustworthy and happy if his customers are happy. We will always work with Mark and know he will continue to be a success at Classic Toyota.

  • Money matters more than customer service

    I called 8/4/14 and spoke with the service dept. and asked them to remove the reverse beeps on my Prius which anybody used to be able to remove by a series of button combinations on the vehicle before Toyota made it required by the dealership to be removed. It can still be removed using a standard $20 ODB2 scan tool and a computer (just do a search for it online); however, I don't want to risk any damage or voiding the warranty so I called the dealership and they want to charge me $35 to do this process which takes less than 5 mins. That equates to $420 per hour if charging $35 for 5 minutes of their time to remove a feature that used to be free. I called corporate and they couldn't believe the dealership was charging me that either. But they said they give a certain amount of freedom to independently owned franchises and they can't make them do it for free. The worst part is that I bought my last car from them and when I told him that and he thought I was referring to my Prius he was all willing to help me and then he found out I was talking about my previous vehicle and back to sorry it will be $35 be exceptions. I am in the market for another business vehicle and I will not be purchasing it here that's for sure.

    I went to Classic Toyota - Waukegan IL today Dec 22 2009 & felt like I made a big mistake. Was looking for a used 2005,06 or 07 Toyota Camry. Met Jo as the sales person. As soon as I started the engine of the CAR & pressed the gas to check the emission, noise & engine under the hood, the sales guy Jo wasn't too happy about it and turned the engine off as if he was hiding something or trying to avoid if we can figure out a problem. As soon as I told my budget, he said WE ARE DONE, banged the hood down & took the CAR away. Did not even say, that he can show us other cars and neither gave us any options. Please DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY on Classic Toyota/Scion - N Grrenbay Rd, Waukegan IL. Highly cheap, ill mannered & pathetic sales service. Lucky I didn't buy the CAR & got to know them early. Please spread the word & I will ensure no one from my group/network ever does business with them.
    • What mr ashish forgot to tell you in his whinig is that he had me getting cars clean for 2 days in a blizzard and blew me off twice. When he showed up the 3rd day, I had the car washed and inside. He floored it to the rev limiter and almost blew up the car. The service manager raced out of his office and said "what are you doing Sir?" GHe then pulled out about 10 quotes from other dealers and tried to justify why the car was worth $10500. We own that car for $12976. His people he refers to in his network are cheap. I dont know where they buy their cars. I'd rather I did'nt have to deal with them. He's the type of guy that would offer 10,000 for a brand new Lamborghini if we had a ridiculous price of $14995 on it. So, I feel after a completely off the wall ridiculous offer, and the history behind it, I would take the high road and wish him well and did say "were Done here" nice meeting you, have a nice day !!!!!! I did say all of that.

    I bought a 2010 Prius from Classic. The salesperson, Leo Katsnelson, was good -- nice guy. Price and trade in good. No hassles or b.s. Financial stuff was over in a few minutes with no pressure. I am pleased with this dealership. We did the deal with no hassles and a smooth process. Kudos.
  • A Fair Price and Quick Transaction

    Classic was there with the first email response to my internet-based research and purchase. They gave me a firm base quote in time for me to arrange and test drive an available, ready-to-go car in my price range and preference. I was happy to find that I could afford more car than I had expected. Purchase and finance processes were quick and on-the-mark. After decades of poor experiences with dealerships and cars, I was very much satisfied with my choice of Classic, and exceptionally happy with my new car and price - I drove a little extra distance to get a much better experience and it was very well worth it. The new building is nice in the standard Toyota Dealership ways, with the added bonus of a warm fire for those who find they need to wait. In-stock cars are plentiful and include some less-loaded-up-front-with-accessories models (which I did not want) that can make it a haven for bargain hunters. Jim and George were the sales and finance staff who took care of me - and I was on the road in my new car in record time and with almost no 'hassle'. That says quite a lot for the improved Toyota approach of selling cars through the internet - and of the careful and professional work of the staff. Toyota has finally hired staff that are as dependable as their cars! :) Kudos to all!
  • 3rd Camry. 1st Time at Classic

    This year was the third Camry that I've bought in the last 10 years. Found Classic Toyota on the internet and saw that they had he vehicle that I was looking for in stock. When I got to the dealership I was greeted at the door and when I said I was just looking, one of the Managers gave me his business card and told told me to browse as much as I wanted. He said when I needed help to come back around. I walked the lot and to my frustration, I couldn't find the car that I was looking for! I went back to the manager that I had originally talked to and he walked with the to a different part of the lot where the cars sit when they're just dropped off from the factory. There it was! He let me know that the car wasn't ready to drive yet but he would have the service dept take care of that right away for me. While I was waiting for the car he had a saleswoman show me around the dealership. Classic is a small place, only 2 cars in the showroom but Linda explained to me that it is a family run dealership and even walked me over to the constuction area where they are building a huge facility. My entire visit felt unrushed and low pressured. The took the time to show me everything at the dealership and on the car. The price I paid was slightly under the Edmunds TMV price and this purchase was very enjoyable. Great place, great people. I can't wait until the new building opens, the fireplace and reading lounge will be nice for winter oil change waits! This has been my best experience at a dealership so far! I look forward to many more here! Worth the drive to Waukegan!

    After 8 years of nothing but problems with my Nissan I decided to take family advice and get a rav4 from Justan at classic. After several months of ownership I am very happy to have chosen my rav4. It is great for the family and just as good on gas as my old Sentra was. Toyota and classic fan for life.
