Happy Honda Days are now only for the Dealer
by Concerned Citizen on 02/01/2023We purchased many vehicles there through the years... all at or around MSRP or a bit less...and the dealer thrived....grew... it was all good! Not this time. They bragged about the new way... selling less cars, charging more....said… everyone was doing it, in "this market", but we assumed we were getting the great Honda experience as in the past. You can already see where this is headed.... A sales rep that claimed Christ led us to financial and psychological slaughter! The salesman kept bragging we got a good deal. We signed everything we left. On the way home, an indicator light went off.... By the next afternoon we were the joke of the national Honda blogs we joined, and we had been flogged. That failed indicator light was an early warning! We paid well OVER MSRP, on a 23 Odyssey... the same vehicle model that is or will be selling below MSRP in many markets, when the redesigned 2024 model comes out soon. We were duped. We shared our great past experiences there, and asked for a fair situation due to my wife's TWO upcoming knee replacements.... I served up an invite to choose unethical, and they did. I focused too much on the trade we had brought in, and the value of that. I didn't see the forest, for the trees.... 2 weeks in, and 500 miles, we are still annoyed by that "great deal", along with (already) a few sensor issues in this new van. Honda's used to be rock-solid cars. We hope this is the case for 48k. The deal was already our most epic fail, in over 60 years on this planet. It cost more than a house. Dealerships can choose to be Stealerships, but they don't have to. Honda says they will hold vehicle allotments to Dealers that choose to participate in such foolishness. We are on a fixed income situation as we are aging, so likely won't be buying under these conditions again, but we hope they reconsider this new selling method. Happy Honda Days for them.... not for us.Awesome Dealership
by BTIRELLO on 10/25/2016Thanks for a great hassle free experience on the purchase of our new Accord. Entire staff was a pleasure to deal with. Brant THORRIBLE HORRIBLE
by Cody_russo on 06/18/2016Honda of Covington is the place you don't want to go, I just got a used Honda Accord EX-L 2014 with only 14,000 miles, they promised me that they was going to fix a few minor things that are wrong with it, including touching up the bumper… paint and reconnecting the back fin. It took two weeks to get it "fixed" but when I did get it back, they painted my front bumper a different color than the rest of my car, also never even touched the back spoiler to try to fix it, the only thing that is holding it on is sticky tack. That isn't even the beginning, then I found that while repainting my car, they somehow put a hole in my back bumper where a huge chunk of paint was missing. I thought Honda was professional until my experience, I don't want anybody else to have the same experience like what I'm going through! I have had the car for three weeks now and all Honda has done is ruined the car even more. I will NEVER buy a car from Honda of Covington again, and I suggest everyone else do the same!Ryan Ahrens from Honda of Covington
by jazondawesley on 07/28/2015I went to Honda of Covington to browse their vast amount of Honda Civics only to drive off the lot with one thanks to Ryan Ahrens. Ryan was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and understanding whenever I had a question. Overall, I would… definitely recommend this dealership to friends and family.Honda of Covington/ Ryan Ahrens
by 1rschroeder on 07/07/2015Ryan was very courteous and knowledgeable about the features of the HRV and the different packages. He helped make it easy to decide between the different options and what was best for us. Communication from him was excellent during the… process, and he has made himself available if we have any questions in the future.stay away from honda of covington

by JackieandBill on 05/04/2015This is our second vehicle purchase from Honda of Covington, and we are just as pleased this time, as we were the first time. Ryan is the most helpful, honest and down to earth salesman we've had anywhere. If you are looking to buy a Honda,… and get a fair deal, you definitely want to go to Honda of Covington, and ask for Ryan Ahrens.15 accord
by patrick105 on 04/18/2015We came to the dealership with a 14 Accord in mind and David Nguyen, the salesman, immediately brought it to us and let us test drive the car. The salesman was nice and knowledgeable about the Accord and other Honda cars. We ended up… getting the 15 instead of the 14 thanks to Mr. Nguyen's help and advice. I'm glad I made the trip out to this Honda dealership today!Excellent Experience
by tnf61 on 04/02/2015We bought a certified pre-owned 2012 Accord from David Nguyen at Honda of Covington. He was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about each car we looked at. Mr. Nguyen was easy to work with, and made the sale a pleasant… process, I would highly recommend him and the dealership as well.David Nguyen
by kaias on 03/26/2015I never thought buying a car could be such a painless, quick and easy process. I was a bit intimidated walking into an auto dealership alone. Let's face it, lots of our parents have programmed us to associate the experience of a car… dealership with a root canal. I had the pleasure of working with David Nguyen and Joe Julian. I had a great experience and I am loving my new (used) Honda Pilot.Be careful when signing the invoice, check all the numbers!
by BornbeSalesman on 10/03/2014The salesperson, Colin Morris is [non-permissible content removed]The salesperson, Colin Morris is [non-permissible content removed]! He was very rude and disrespectful during the whole time of the negotiation. He even said, if I did not… have money, why I would come to Dealership to purchase a vehicle but instead should be buying a cheap used 3 thousand dollar car. These statements were the techniques he used to make me convince on the price he offered. To make long story short, so we came to an agreement on one price and they changed the price when I was about to sign the invoice. They went up 6% more on the interest. This means 6 thousand dollars more for 60 months.Review Update- Honda of Covinton
by sandrus on 08/05/2014I posted a Negative Review relating to my Buying Experience with Honda of Covington on 7-24-2014. Since that post, the owner of the Dealership, Laurie M., has made a "Good Faith" effort to turn that experience around. I am happy to say that… I will be buying a Gray Honda Pilot from the Dealership today. Her actions prove that she values the reputation of her dealership and is willing to take the necessary steps to turn a bad situation around! Based on her personal commitment, I recommend that you consider this dealership for future purchases!Covington Honda
by jimbet on 07/14/2014David K. of Honda of Covington did an excellent job of providing the exact car we wanted and at a great price as well as providing us a more than fair trade-in price for our old car. We never once felt pressured and the entire process took… about three hours including the test drive and financing process.Honda of Covington - David K.
by mitrahan on 07/12/2014Outstanding Customer Sales Experience with David K. and Cole H. at Honda of Covington. The Sales Manager Here Treated Me Like An Idiot -- I was stunned
by mandsecretshop on 09/30/2009I am not a rookie car buyer -- middle aged in fact. I have bought perhaps 8 or 9 cars as an adult. The experience I just had trying to buy a car at Honda of Covington stunned me. They treated me like an idoit. Perhaps I was/or still… am.. as I allowed them to sucker me into staying on their lot for more than 90 minutes!!! As if that stall tactic would lure anyone into buying...it simply creates an adversarial atmosphere. I thought such childish sales techniques went out in the 80s. Really. The salesman was OK (or maybe he just played to role of "good cop"); but Larry the manager was absurd. I couldn't get a straight answer on their price for a used car. They did let me test drive it. I was ready to buy it. Told them that, I was even willing to pay cash. They still made me wait another half-hour for a price answer... and finally wrote out an offer sheet (couldn't just give me a straight verbal answer to a simple question: what does it cost?) NEWSFLASH: the price was about 10% less than invoice on a new car...and it had 30,000 miles on it over 18-24 months!!! Well, I must not realize how valuable used cars have become!!! Or, they played me as a sucker who had no idea of true car prices. How ridiculous! I also made the mistake of discussing a trade in. wow! They offered me 30% of the book value (Edmunds) for my current car. How insulting! Do people really give away that much value??? I expected to negotiate; but with that big of a spread, they clearly are just hawking to see who they can take advantage of. Shameful. I walked out. Best decision I made over the two hours spent there. I'm not mad (anymore). I just decided to post this info to help other potential shoppers save their time. Don't bother shopping there. No wonder they won't return e-mails or give prices over the phone. They would rather work you over with antiquated, sneaky-pressure, manipulative sales techniques in person. Wow, does anyone just sell cars anymore??? Now, I feel like we can't shop a Honda because our local dealership is so [violative content deleted].took forever
by edsbrother on 02/18/2009I started out by sending quotes and they took 2 days to send me something and then it wasn't on the right car. Then they called me several times a day. When I asked them if they had the specific car they then had to talk to the manager… and call me back.Awesome experience
by jim599 on 12/12/2013updated 04/25/2025My wife and I had such a great experience. We didn't plan to buy a car the same day we drove it, but Daniel G., our salesman made the experience easy and no hassle. We are so pleased with our Honda.bad customer service from finance
by riomystic on 07/06/2012updated 04/25/2025I left my credit card home by mistake so told them I would give them a check for a downpayment only if they would wait until I transferred money from another account and I called them that it was ok to cash it. The finance officer said he… would wait and he did not so I was charged $108 service charge by my bank to cover the check and the dealership is how lying and said I told them to cash it after 3 days(which included a holiday) and they refuse to reimburse melet my guard down
by ibeentaken on 10/04/2012updated 04/25/2025went in to look at a truck i decided i didnt like it seen another i liked it was 2000 dollars cheeper and after a couple of days later i noticed the salesman cooked the price 2000 dollars higher to match the price of the truck i didnt… want he asked me to come see him he would make me a good deal on a truck i trusted travis he [non-permissible content removed] oh well my fault but i tell other dealers in covington to tell customers shopping around to watch out for this dealer and salesman
