Great, will definitely be buying my next car from them!!
Better treatement of a GM owner than GM offered
by kicooke on 08/02/2009I previously owned a Saturn ION Red Line coupe. After three years of boy racer fun it was time to get serious and get something a little more practical. I went back to the Saturn dealership where I purchased my car and was shocked that… they only wanted to give me $8000 dollars for my trade. Since only about 6000 of these cars were made, I sort of figured that there would be no problem with the resale and I should get more for trade..... no dice. I went to another Saturn dealer in Winchester, VA and was given the same crappy trade in offer. I tried a Chevrolet dealer dealer in Cockeysville (crazy like a ???) and got the runaround from them. They kept calling us back saying they had something lined up for us but wanted a ridiculous amount of money down.... in the end they just wasted our time. Enter Don White's. I saw there web site and was interested in a Caliber. I just wanted practical transportation that was roomier than my Saturn and less likely to draw a $530 speeding ticket (that's another story). I met my salesperson Jeremy after completing an online form and went from there. The first vehicle did not work out so they brought in a model from another dealer that filled the bill. There was only one go round of haggling, my big thing is not putting money down on new cars and having a vacation to fund I did not want to have to redirect funds. They worked with us and got us payments less than the Saturn with no money down. I got a respectable amount of money for my trade... almost $2000 more than any GM dealer wanted to give me for their own product. I know that the Caliber is an entry level model but I love it just the same. The ride is so much nicer than my ION and while its no speed demon it moves well enough for me. It is infinitely more comfortable than my ION was and so much quieter. It performed admirably on our trip to the outer banks loaded down four passengers and a rooftop carrier. And about my trade... I knew I had something people wanted. I was told that the young lady who purchased my car drove three hours from PA to come and look at it. An 06 ION Red Line driven gently (most of the time) with a little over 25K miles is probably a rare find. Shame on you GM for not thinking that a consumer might have some insight. Anyway, when its time to upgrade I know where I'll be shopping. I hope the service lives up to the reputation as sales did although I also hope I never need any major service.Great Buying Experience
by rsull on 07/14/2009I traveled 38 miles to Don White's because they offered the car I wanted for a price that no other dealership could approach. The Internet staff coordinated a test drive . The Internet staff (Katrina) was extremely professional and… helpful. At the dealership met with Rob Marsteller and had a great buying experience. Rob listened to what I wanted and my financing requirements. He worked extremely hard to ensure that the deal was one that I wanted and met all my requirements. The finance office was great in explaining everything and making sure I understood all of the service and other plans available, but never pushing anything I was not interested in. In some thirty years of buying cars and dealing with car dealerships this was truly the best buying experience I have had.Great experience at Don White's!

Very nice, very professional, and was polite through all my numerous calls and questions. VERY focused… on customer service, as was everyone we met at the dealership. Derrick processed our paperwork, and was very pleasant to work with. Dealership was two hours from our house, but it was worth it to save a couple thousand dollars. She was a pleasure to work with through internet sales. When I finally got to Don Whites, Katirna introduced me to Rob,… who was wonderful. I think I talked his ear off, but he listened. I would recommend him to all my friends and family if they are looking to purchase a car. Next there was Brad - big smile and was easy to make blush! He was a treat for the entire experience. Mel was my final encounter, as he took the check and gave me my papers. What a flawless process, and a great team to work with. by CER226 on 02/17/2009On Saturday my wife and I settled on a Subaru Forester to carry our new dog to dog shows. I was concerned that she would have trouble getting a 70 pound dog into the Forester because it is so tall so I mentioned the Caravan - the dog would… simply step in. On Monday I stopped by Don White to check on a Caravan. The deal could be made if they had a red Caravan with dual climate control and heated seats. They had a van with all three so I drove it home with Rob to show the wife. She liked it immediately and really liked the backup camera and the stowable seats (so we can carry the dog crate). Oh, I also like that it can carry plywood, but don't tell my wife. The current incentives brought the price down to our range and we got a good price for our trade-in. We discussed the purchase and sealed the deal by early evening. The purchase process was quick and painless. I really liked the fact that the dealer would register the vehicle and get the license plates. This is my second vehicle through Don White - I also have a 2004 Dodge Dakota that has been a great truck. I really wanted to upgrade to the GPS but just couldn't justify paying over $2000 - that's about 20 GPS's from Walmart!I had two very good experiences!
by bigsandwich on 12/04/2008My two experiences included the installation of a DVD player and the body repair of my Jeep after I was unable to avoid a deer. The service department communicated clearly what needed to be done and the time frame needed to get it… accomplished. Everything went exactly as it was explained to me. In both instances everyone treated me with courtesy and respect (from the person answering the phone, the service technicians, the cashier, as well as the shuttle service driver). The fact that a shuttle service was available was a significant benefit. In addition, the quality of the work done in both cases was exceptional. I am happy with the Don White's Timonium location. To take it a step further, it is good to see that there are places where people still look you in the eye when speak to you, and then do what they say they will do. by mimi11 on 09/30/2008This dealership's website extolls the virtues of how they "treat the needs of each individual customer with paramount concern." To this former (and never again) customer, their only concern is to get you in a new or used car, take your… good money and RUN!!! When the time comes for service on your vehicle, the customer will supposedly experience "world class service" by a "knowledgeable, experienced, and courteous staff." After all, they are "committed to your satisfaction and strive to exceed your expectations!" (If your expectations are nada, you'll do just fine.) How ironic then when, discovering a "gritty" overspray on our entire new vehicle soon after bringing it home, we returned our Jeep to the dealership to emphatically be told "it's not their problem", it's not a "warranty issue", it's "environmental" (i.e. "WE must have driven through a "metallic spray paint machine" or it was "acid rain".) How smart! How clever! How RIDICULOUS!! What an imagination these guys have!! They in essence called us "liars", and we were told that any expense ($200-$300) to buff or remove the "spray" would be out of pocket and we were on our own. They took no responsibility whatsoever, even though the vehicle was traded from another dealership in Jersey and driven a few hundred miles to Timonium, which could easily have been exposed to "environmental factors" enroute. This is just another disappointing exercise in today's "make a buck at any cost" culture that is so foreign to the core value of accountability that boomers once embraced, and is just another in a long line of purchases of goods and services where the death of trust, responsibility, good will and "the customer is always right" ethic has sadly gone missing. Fortunately in our line of work, we are able to refer and direct a great many potential car buyers in the area to transacting business with reputable dealers. In today's economy and ever, businesses trading on their advertising word, whether website or print, is their lifesblood and their bond. You missed the boat on this one, Don White Timonium Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep. Your disgrace......, Your loss.First, thank you for submitting your feedback. As Internet Director, it is very important that you contact me personally as soon as possible so that I can attempt to get to the bottom of your concern. I am personally unaware of your issue, and I have been with Don White's for over a year. I will do my best to reconcile this issue to the best of my ability. If your "gritty" overspray was brought to our attention immediately during or after your purchase I cannot understand why we would not have taken care of it. We are committed to all of our customers' satisfaction. This commitment does not have a dollar amount attached to it and $300.00 is a small expense when balanced against our reputation. If your issue was brought to our attention weeks or months after your purchase then we couldn't be expected to accept responsibility however we should have offered you an internal cost to remedy your issue and insure your continued satisfaction. Knowing, from your post, that we traveled a few hundred miles on your behalf to secure vehicle 2 states away is indicative of the lengths which we must have gone to insure your satisfaction when you purchased your vehicle. Given our commitment to you by making such a long-distance transfer, lends to the credibility of our virtue to "treat the needs of each individual customer with paramount concern". Lastly, your insistence that there is a "death of trust, responsibility, good will, and 'the customer is always right' ethic has sadly gone missing" is a bit jaded. They met the price and I was in and out quicker than I have ever been over the 25 years of buying vehicles. Everyone treated us very well. Mike Hall was great to work… with. He mixed the grind associated with the paperwork in with good conversation. It was more of a visit than a sale. He was a person of his work; doing everything he said he would do. What a good guy. I have passed his cards out everywhere I can and talked up Timonium Dodge as much as I can.Wow!

I finally decided I was ready to buy and went back through numerous emails sent by various dealerships in the area. I decided to check and see if the car I was… looking for with the options I wanted was available at Don White's TImonium. I took advantage of using the internet chat and spoke online with Drew who was very pleasant and answered all my questions in a timely manner. The internet price matched edmund's TMV but I negotiated for just a bit more off the price and without any of the usual "salesman" tactics, we settled on the price. I bought my car the very next day. They had the car waiting for me at the door. Mike Hall was my salesman and was very courteous, pleasant and thorough in answering all my questions. I left a satisfied customer and I am so exicited to finally be in my new Chrysler 300. The entire experience was better than any car buying experience I have ever had. by culater21015 on 05/21/2008All around a good experience. Internet site is very informative and detailed, and Matt was very quick to respond to my query about the T&C we were interested in. When I showed up that evening, the car was out front with a sign for me on it… - a nice touch. Our salesman Mike Hall did a great job and was a pleasure to work with - no real pressure tactics, just willing to answer all our questions right away. Pricing was very good, and I felt like we were treated more than fairly. Only downside was financing - it just took too long to wade through all the warranty policy options, and the better deals only came after we turned down the original offerings. He set up an appointment for us to come and test drive the vehicle. We met with the sales person, and test… drove the one model they had in stock. Since the vehicle was not exactly the one we wanted, and we were very early in the process of purchasing a another truck, we visited another dealer. We had a horrible experience at the OTHER dealership, so we called the salesman at Don White's. We told him exactly what we wanted, and he found the exact truck in PA. It was brought in for us to look at the next morning. We purchased it that day. Every phase of our visit was excellent. We had NO high pressure silliness and the purchase was simple. They were very busy the day we purchased, but our salesperson stayed with us. There were no games, pushy sales techniques, or dealer double speak, only genuine interest in satisfying my family's automotive needs. When I requested a… test drive, they immediatelely located the exact model with my preferred options, right down to the color match. Following a leisurely test drive and no pressure discussion, the sales representative was able to make their competition look shamefully inadequate. by akapplin on 01/12/2008It had been some time since my wife and I had bought a new car, but with a 14 year old son reaching 5'6'', and the only vehicle we have being a small two-seater pickup we decided it was time. Buying a car had become a need. I posted… my needs and wants on a dealership website and waited. Within only a few days the only dealership to contact me was Don White's Chrysler Plymouth Jeep in Cockeysville, Md. I dealt with a man named Ian Devereaux. He was their on-line sales associate. He was very patient and understanding. I further explained that the vehicle we were looking for was a minivan, since my wife and I like to travel. He tried but to no avail. He explained that since we had no trade-in, we had sold our dead Stratus to a junk dealer, and would be making no down payment, and could only afford so much a month the financing would not go through for the Caravan I wanted. He told me though that he was not a quitter. I thought it would end there. I looked at my wife and told her that if Ian wasn't going to quit than neither was I. We got on Don White's web site and began looking. On the used car site we found not one, but two Stratus'!! I was so excited. I contacted Ian again and told him, telling him about the two cars we found and which one I would like to try for. He contacted me the next day and said the financing had gone through for the 2006 Stratus and to come get the car. I explained to him that we had a vehicle situation and that I was unable to do so. Another brick wall, or so I thought. Ian asked me what my address was and said that he would come get me. He did just that, and we went back to the dealership. Two hours later, after dealing with a very nice young man named Jeremy, I was signing for my 2006 Dodge Stratus. I was so happy. I had been a previous Stratus owner and loved the car, and here I am driving another one. The car was beautiful. The website photo did not do it any justice. In closing, I would definately reccommend Don White's to anyone, and will definately be buying from them again in the future.
