Excellent customer service

I never felt like they were trying to force us into a higher priced vehicle. I also thought they had a… good amount of inventory for the vehicles we were looking at (Accords). They even stayed open late for us! I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone I talk to.Thank you for your earnest response. Not a good experience
by mike715 on 10/08/2012updated 04/25/2025Generally I avoid dealerships for service and my most recent experience illustrates why. Armed with coupons for a timing belt change, an oil change and a tire rotation, I took my 2001 CRV in to Heritage Honda in Westminster for service with… the intention of having only those services done. The total should have been in the neighborhood of $330. Now, I was not so naive as to think it would be that easy; I fully expected to get a call from the service department with a list of other things that need to be done. I got the obligatory call, and without going through the entire list, most significantly I was told the water pump needed replacing because it was 'making some noise' and there were signs of 'some leaking'. There were also belts that needed replacing I was prepared (at least I thought I was) and ready to decline any additional service. However, I was told the majority of the labor for replacing the pump was already covered under the timing belt labor. It also made sense that the belts needed replacing as the car is over 10 years old. Under pressure to make a quick decision I forgot all of my training and told them to go ahead with the water pump and belt replacements. My $330 worth of services ended up costing me $864.78. After the damage was done, in a more lucid moment, it occurred to me that a) i never heard any noise from the pump and b) I never saw any signs of leaking and (most telling) was not having to top off the coolant. In the tiny box of replaced parts they gave me only some of the belts showed wear. Ironically, the timing belt looks like new (which really has me kicking myself). Update: received a call from the service manager. He discussed at length the reasons for the additional work and I found his explanations reasonable. Ultimately, the only thing I can fault the service department for not being upfront about the likelihood of encountering these additional items (which are apparently pretty common when replacing timing belts). Excellent Buying Experience

Great no-pressure sales

Instead Joe (salesman I was linked with) didn't try to push any extras on me and hunted 6 surrounding states for the color I wanted. The… on-line price quote never budged, even when the car had to be brought in from another dealer. Technically the price quote was only for a car on the lot. The financial aspects were done by Dan, and while he presented a number of optional service plans, I did not feel any pressure to accept them. Honda Fit recall review

This place was comparatively far from my house, but this was my favorite choice since I was able to schedule… an appointment for recall on Saturday. At the service center, we were cordially received by Tom H. He took our car an gave us an approximate estimate of time to finish the job. The car was fixed by almost within the time limit and they also did a primary inspection of the car for free! Tom was a real nice person and explained the paper works. Saw on website, contacted salesperson about interest, then went to check out others up here in Hanover, PA. Wife gets contacted by same salesperson short time later with offer… with another 5% off, I get notified, so drive down and take my p.o.s. 15 y.o. to trade in for $500 bucks due to horrible exterior and electrical gremlins. Financing not issue due to due cash purchase. Left in about 2 hours due to cross-state paperwork on worthless trade-in, and a small detailing glitch resolved at last minute. He did not pressure me to do anything and informed me of filters/wipers that needed… replacement. Something that I would have missed. I chose to change them myself, but this type of service gives me confidence in this dealership. We were shopping for very specific spec's in a used vehicle and were willing to drive a couple of hours in any direction to get the best deal. We found the best… deals online then called all of them and negotiated throughout the day to get the best terms from those. By the time I got off work, it was between Heritage Honda's deal and another, but it turned out that the other dealership was going to close at 8, so we'd have to deal with it again the next day. There was no way I was going to take the day off or try to work in-transit (I'm a software engineer so it is feasible though awkward) but Scott said he'd stay late for us to make it happen. Even when we got hung up in Tyson's Corner traffic forever, Scott STILL said he'd be there for us if we got there after 9. When we got there, the vehicle was ready to go, we checked it out carefully and it met our expectations, and before we knew it we had a great car at a great price. In the age of the internet and long commutes, dealers are competing with each other more than ever, and this dealership won our business the hard way -- they earned it.Easy and Painless

I shopped with my son for a reliable used car and Heritage Honda was the third dealer that we visited. Salesperson Agata had persuaded me to make the 35… mile trip to Heritage to look at a car that I had seen on their website. Agata was right--the car was great! We purchased it in a friendly, no-hassel environment. Agata even called a service technician in to answer a question I had about the car's engine and timing belt replacement. After my son drove the car 35 miles back to our house he was beaming with the performance and handling. I already knew it was an excellent car from the test drive.
