  • Excellent Dealership

    5 out of 5 starsby TB12SuperFan on 07/18/2018

Excellent overall experience. Jeff showed me the exact truck I wanted and was friendly and informative throughout the buying process. They offered a fair price so there was minimal back and forth. Very satisfied overall.

  • FRAUD - Stay away, these folks are slippery

I purchased a car that was listed as a CPO Prius 3 on the company website. I later found out that this car has been totally repainted, and then was given conflicting information about whether the vehicle should have been qualified as CPO based on that, During one conversation the Sales Manager tried to tell me that they certified the car at my request -absolutely not! I told him that the CPO status was the only thing that got me in the door. A mistake I will never repeat and I advise you not to make, Finally, I after comparing a list of specs to the car, I find that this vehicle is not a Model 3, it is a Model 2. Fortunately I saved a clip of the website showing that it was offered as a Model 3. It was a good price for a 3, only so-so for a 2. Furthermore, the finance manager made mistakes on four out of the five key pieces of information on the form that was completed in the sales office - I later received a whole new account from Toyota Financial Services. The Sales Manager, Mike Kozak, repeated dodged my attempts to get in touch, did not return calls and was evasive in his responses. I finally gave up trying to chase him down as I have better things to do in life. The car is a good car, the Toyota Prius is a winner. But this dealer is a [non-permissible content removed]. There are many good reputable independent used car dealers in this area, so if you are even considering a car from Lia, RUN!!! in the opposite direction and look elsewhere. More details below if you really want to know, but save yourself the time and just stay away. ===== I opened a case with the National office about the paint, and they assured me that the dealership would contact me within 2 days. They did not. I called again. Now it has been 2 weeks and still no follow up. I am stunned that a repainted car can be CPO. I don't trust this dealer any more. At this point my frustration goes beyond the issues with the car and documents. I feel that I am being ignored. All of my messages have been very polite. I bought here because I wanted CPO. Would never do that again. There are a number of reputable used car dealers in this area that deal heavily in Toyotas. That is where I should have bought my car.
  • Exceptional Service

    5 out of 5 starsby kjs0310 on 02/09/2017

I have always had a good experience taking my car to Lia, and this latest visit was no different. My car needed quite a bit of work done and was ultimately in the shop for around 2 weeks, but Justin Laramie kept me updated the whole time and made sure I never felt like I or my car were forgotten about. I will definitely keep coming to this dealership as long as I am in the area.
  • Helped me get a used car that really fit my needs.

    5 out of 5 starsby hagrid417 on 01/04/2017

I went in looking for Highlander and DeShawn asked me the right questions to redirect me to a RAV4. They did not have a used RAV4 that fit my needs so he helped me find a used Honda CR-V that they did have and it was an ideal fit. He made it easy and fun to get this car. I love Lia Toyota Northampton.
  • Excellent experience

Today my wife and I made our second purchase at Lia Toyota of Northampton. I have bought and sold cars for the last 34 years. My last two purchases are the first time in my life I bought a car and didn't walk away feeling I had been taken to the cleaners! This is the sixth Toyota I've purchased and the second from Lia, the 4 purchases prior to Lia were from a different dealership not too far away, but we're all terrible experiences. The entire staff at Lia were professional and I feel worked to give us the best deal possible. The entire staff was professional, courteous and extremely up-front throughout the process. Lia Toyota of Northampton has made me a loyal, satisfied customer.
  • Favorite dealership of all time

    5 out of 5 starsby roma2021 on 10/18/2015

This is the only dealership I'll go to for service. They handle customers with an exceptional degree of honesty. I never feel taken advantage of as I have in the past at other dealerships. They always work with me to get me in and out fast. They're amazing with communication -- letting me know what repairs are emergencies and need fixing and what can wait. I always work with Lindsay Firmani. She's friendly, detailed, and totally on top of everything. Rarely does it happen, but if my car is taking longer than expected, she comes out to the waiting area to keep me posted about what the delay is. Most of the time, however, my car is ready for me faster than the time quoted.
  • Do not buy a car at Lia Toyota of Northampton

1 out of 5 starsby krockwell on 09/23/2015

Do not buy your next car here! They pull every trick in the book at Lia Toyota. They are the epitome of the worst kind of car sales people. You can save thousands of dollars if you do your research. I looked at a Prius here and put down a deposit, and then I found a younger Prius with half the mileage and $3000 dollars less at Nicky D's! I went back to get my deposit, and they were [non-permissible content removed]. I felt so gross when I left. Robert Astin was the salesperson, and he was not upfront with me. I became suspicious when he wouldn't share the VIN of a car I was interested in. The managers are [non-permissible content removed]. I repeat, do not buy from Lia Toyota!
  • A great experience so far!

I wasn't looking forward to buying a new car after mine was totaled, but James at Lia Toyota Scion in Northampton, MA made it so much less stressful than I thought it would be. He was knowledgeable, gave me insight into the plusses and minuses of other cars I was considering, and listened to what I needed. He treated me as an equal, and respected that I was picky. He found the car I wanted and drove it up from Schenectady! I feel I got a fair deal. The showroom is pleasant, and from the service department to the parts department, everyone seems on top of their game. I look forward to coming back to keep my "new" (2012 Camry) car in great shape. Thanks James!!!
  • Enjoyable shopping experience

Purchased a Prius V at Lia Toyota Northampton. The salesman, Jon Maki, was helpful without all of the heavy sales pitches that have turned us off in the past. We were provided with a fair deal promptly and courteously, and drove away with our new Prius on the following day.
  • outrageous, horrible sales service

    1 out of 5 starsby Cosmo73 on 03/12/2015

We went on a Sunday to lease a Corolla, and we left a $500 down payment. We Came back on Tuesday evening to finish paperwork and pick up the car. We were told the paperwork wasn't ready. We had traded in a Maxima. We left the Maxima there and left without the Corolla with the promise that it would be delivered to my spouse's place of employment the next day (Wednesday), because now she did not have a car. On the day this was supposed to happen (Wednesday), we were told by phone that the paperwork was not handled correctly and we would have to come in and start the process all over again. At this point, we had enough and cancelled the lease agreement. We went to pick up the Maxima so we could trade it in at another dealership and we were told by them that THEY LOST THE TITLE. Now we have no car to trade in and no new car. They said, quite non-chalantly, "we will get you another title." Really? And what do we do in the meantime? Right now, we have a rental, and can't trade in the Maxima anywhere because this "dealership" lost the title! Do not do business with this dealership. They are sloppy, careless, and a big disappointment.
  • Great Buying Experience

I just purchased a new Toyota 4Runner in Limited trim from Lia Toyota of Northampton. The process was very easy. I never felt pressured into getting anything I did not want. Everyone at the dealership was very pleasant and helpful.
  • Among The 100 Worst - It has to be.

1.8 out of 5 starsby jimedbillybob on 12/16/2009

I have experienced the dubious "pleasure" of dealing with Lia Toyota. Might I suggest that you do yourself the favor of avoiding such a fate. In a word, they failed to keep a single promise except actually selling me the car. Item #1. It had a leaking tire which was discovered the day after the purchase. They promised to replace. Instead it was fixed with a plug placed in the side of the tire, an Eagle Radial. The car proved to have other substantive defects, among these the fact that some foreign substance had adhered to the surface. The side view mirrors cannot be cleaned. The view from the rear window is also pemanently obscured. I bought and installed a new tire. They refused to compensate me. They did offer to replace the side mirrors, but would not so much as discuss the other flaws. Here's what you really need to know. No matter how dishonest, unscrupulous and venal this or any other Toyota dealer turns out to be, you will get no help whatsoever from the heavily promoted Toyota Experience. You might as well call Walmart for all the help you will get from Toyota. Today's Toyota Motor Corporation is not your father's Toyota and Lia Motors is [violative content deleted].

Good luck even finding a salesperson to help you - they act like they're doing you a favor if they even notice you. Apparently, sales are so good in this affluent town that bargaining on price is useless. Go somewhere else!

We bought a used car from you 3 or 4 months ago and have had nothing but trouble. The first week we took the car in because it had unusual creaking from below. They lubed it and said it was ok. Within 2 days the creaking got worst, now we have learned that something is bent underneath and it will cost 1500 plus to fix, (despite purchasing the protection plan) There was no accident with us.I would like to address this issue right away. I do not feel responsible for this. This was an issue from day one. We believe we received a lemon
  • The worst...

Avoid this place at all costs. I bought a new Corolla there last year. Was told to come at any time to get my inspection sticker. I went and was told "we don't do inspections on Mondays" So I had to go elsewhere and get them to reimburse me. Then when I had my bluetooth unit installed, they quoted me an hour and a half but luckily, I was told "don't worry, we charge you any extra for this". Really? what about my time that you wasted? The big issue was my bringing it in for an oil change. What was supposed to take about an hour took 2. I brought my own oil as I was told I could. They mechanic failed to read the paper as well as see the quarts clearly sitting on the passenger seat. I went to question the service person who immediately had it taken back in... Upon coming out, my brand new car was covered with oily hand prints inside and out. Unbelievable. I wrote in complaining and their service manager, Scott, offered to come pick up the vehicle and give me a loaner while they performed another oil change AND also detailed the car inside and out. The agreed upon time came and went and they never showed up. The response I got was "oh I thought you were bringing it to us". These people do not care about their customers. They do shoddy work and their "attempts" at righting wrongs are insincere. Avoid this service department at all costs...

We bought a Sienna here recently and I was very pleased with the service we received. I especially want to mention the very nice sales person we worked with, Adam C. There was no pressure. He got us into a great vehicle at a great price.
