  • An education helps, but overall we are happy

We recently purchased a vehicle from Cueter. I was impressed with the experienced but found that I really had to guide the conversations and vehicle search back to what I thought was best for me and my family. A little plug here but I spent some time on both edmunds researching the best and most reliable vehicle in its class as well as reading the article "Confessions of a Carsalesman" by Chandler Phillips. IF YOU ARE EVER GOING TO BUY A CAR FROM A DEALER AGAIN READ IT FIRST! (http://www.edmunds.com/advice/buying/articles/42962/article.html) They used some of the same tricks from the article and I was also redirected several times toward another vehicle that I was not interested in as it has received poor reviews in many categories. Calling them out a few times really opened the door and I ended up having a good experience. I really liked Rick. He is the new service manager and I felt that he was a good guy and very up front with us. Although it seems like the unpopular thing to do, I would actually recommend them as long as you went in a little prepared.

  • poor experience in the used car department

I purchased a Chevy truck from Robert Hill at Cueter and purchased it and had it shipped. I was assured that it went through a 150 point inspection and there would be no surprises. I also verified it did not leak oil and he said it did not. Well, I get the vehicle, and it leaks oil which cost me $1000 to repair. Then it has a bad rear tire (another $100), causing the steering wheel to shake. It needs new rear brakes and rotors (another $450) badly. But that isn't the worst of it....They actually had the nerve to take the spare tire (yet another $100) and one of my wheel covers (extra $60) from the other wheel. I have heard of this happening but I didn't really think it happened. Finally, there was no Chevy emblem (another $70) on the front of the vehicle. Really!?!?!?! Therefore, save yourself the headaches and don't buy a vehicle from them.
    • One other thing I forgot to add. The shocks or U-joints are so bad that I can hear the suspension every bump I hit. So basically, it is a constant sound. I can't afford to get it fixed since I am busy paying for the other problems first.

  • Not bad, but certainly not great...

When it comes to buying a car, I'm someone that wants to know exactly what it's going to cost me beforehand. That's why the internet is such a valuable tool for car shopping and why I take full advantage of it. Using Edmunds.com, I configured a new vehicle exactly the way I wanted it, then submitted the info to every dealer in my area for a quote. This is where Cueter excelled. Their "internet manager", as she is called, was the first to respond to my inquiry. Not only was she quick, but she was the only one who provided me with an out the door price on the car via email. The fact that Cueter was the only dealer that was willing to work with me in this way scored them some major points early on in my car buying experience. All of the other dealers responded generically and extended to me an invitation to come in to the dealership to get a price; precisely what I was trying to avoid. It seemed like they didn't want to give me any numbers at all, probably for fear that I was going to go elsewhere with those numbers. It was extremely irritating that I couldn't get quotes in my email inbox from more than one dealer. Nevertheless, I wanted to get several quotes to compare pricing, so I reluctantly spent a few days after work shopping around in person and getting quotes. In the end it was still Cueter that had the lowest price, and that is the sole reason I decided to go with them. I walked into the dealership expecting to work with the internet lady that I had been in communication with, but instead they assigned me to another sales person. This seemed odd to me since I had already established a relationship with her via phone and email. Luckily, the sales person I was put with was very friendly and sweet. She put the order in for my car and was very fast at responding to all of my email inquiries throughout the lengthy waiting process. While she told me that it would take 4-6 weeks for the car to come in, it ended up taking a whopping 12+ weeks. This I cannot blame the dealership for. It was certainly the manufacturer's fault and had something to do with some recent changes they made to the vehicle. Nevertheless, it was aggravating having to wait so long, especially since I had planned to use the car for two upcoming vacations. When the vehicle finally arrived, I rushed with anticipation to close the deal. Everything was going smooth and seamless until I was escorted into the small confines of the finance department. The guy shook my hand and began his "presentation". He talked about the dealership's history, then started drawing time lines and diagrams to explain the manufacturer's warranty and how it's "just not enough". I knew what was coming. Two different extended warranties, an injury/disability payment protection program, and gap coverage, all services I did not want that would have skyrocketed my monthly payment by a whopping 45%. What irritated me about this was just how much of my time it wasted, having to sit there and wait for the sales pitch to end just so I could decline it. I know that the dealerships make money with these programs, and there are plenty of people out there who do want them. But to avoid pissing off customers like me who want nothing more than just the vehicle at the absolute lowest price, they really need to just take no for an answer. I don't want to be one of those jerk customers that's rude to employees, but I really feel that would have worked much better for me in this case. After finally getting him to accept my decline, I next had to fight them over a price difference. For some unknown and suspicious reason, the core cost of the vehicle was significantly higher than what I was quoted. Luckily I had all of the emails on hand to show them the price I was supposed to be paying. Why did the price change? Was it an honest mistake or an attempt to screw me over? This is the question that was and still is stuck in my mind... it's shady to say the least and makes it very hard to trust them. All in

  • Waste of time

I went into to inquire about a lease. I got pushed around to three different people, and 45 minutes later, I still hadn't seen a single or car or received a single offer. I'm not sure they know what they are doing. It was a horrible experience.

  • Don't buy anything from these people

Ill make this short and sweet. The sales manager is pushy constantly is trying to shift around what they will give you for a trade in, will tell you one thing and will do another, promise you things and not follow through even on the smallest things. For instance promised me a full tank of gas but only gave me a half tank of gas, when i asked them about it they refused to fill it up the rest of the way. If you want a good deal don't come here, or if you do make sure to get everything they tell you in writing and maybe record everything they tell you.

On Nov 17, 2011 I purchased my second new car from Dave Proctor of Cueter Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Ypsilanti, MI. Dave Proctor is an outstanding sales professional. He is very knowledgeable of all aspects of every vehicle he sells. He looks out for his customers and does a very good assessment of what the customer really needs. He does not try to sell you something that you do not need or want. He goes to bat for his customers, and ensures that they receive the lowest price available. As well as all rebates and price incentives. He looks for ways for you to save money and does not pressure you or coheres the customer in any way. I have purchased two new vehicles from Dave Protor and he got me top dollar for my traded in vehicles. There is not enough I can say about Dave Proctor. If you want a new vehicle, call Dave Proctor first. The Cueter Dealership is state of the art; clean, spacious, top notch service and body shop. Every one at this dealership will bend over backwards to make the customer happy and every visit positive.

We received a promotion in the mail and went in to see what it was all about. We had been a couple times before and talked to a couple of ladies there but always felt like they were pressuring us into a sale. We needed a new car but could have waited. And when we went in this day we were just browsing. We met Jim and he listened very carefully to our needs and wants. He was very friendly and didn't put pressure on us to buy something. He only showed us cars that fulfilled our criteria and that would give us payments around what we wanted. In the end we found the perfect car for us with payments that were $100 less than what we were expecting. I would recommend Cueter to anyone especially Jim Hudok. He is the best No Pressure Sales Person who is there to get you what you need and want! Thanks Jim we love our car.
