BEST Dealership hands down!
by MikeGr on 06/27/2014I have bought and leased many cars, but Sussex Honda is BY FAR the BEST dealership to work with. Many dealerships promise "hassle-free" and "honest and no games", but most fail to meet that description. Gary and Greg at Sussex Honda made it… incredibly simple and fast to get the absolute best price without the games. They gave me ONE price and it was so much better than any of the other dealer prices I had gotten and believe me, I did my research (including Costco's Executive membership auto program prices!). There was no need to haggle back and forth. They were so easy to work with and genuine and honest...it was refreshing to work with a salesman that didn't push us or intimidate us to buy today. They answered all questions in detail and made my wife and I feel very comfortable. They even helped us get our paperwork and insurance done in advance of picking the car up because they knew we had time constraints. The gave a very fair price for our trade-in. Even after the sale was complete, Gary spent ample time showing us how the features of the car work including programing our phones into the Pilot's bluetooth program! From start to finish, this was the best car buying experience.... I can't imagine a reason we will go anywhere else in the future. Don't waste your time researching prices and checking out other dealerships, go directly to Sussex Honda and I guarantee you will be taken care of and you will walk out happy with a great car at the best price you're going to find. I never write reviews online, but I am compelled to share my recent experience so that others will save their time and energy. Thank you Sussex Honda, Gary and Greg!Great Dealership - Be Not Afraid
by km317 on 06/27/2014A Pleasant Car Purchase Experience I had a very pleasant purchase experience with Eileen. She went out of her way to meet me at the dealership even though it was not during her work hours. I did a test drive, trade in, and purchase and… drove out with a new CRV the same day. I could have dealt with a dealership that was more convenient to me but after reading the reviews, I chose Sussex Honda and I'm glad that I did. So far I am really enjoying my CRV to the max. Thanks Eileen and the whole team at Sussex Honda. Be not afraid - buy a car there!Wonderful Experience
by bakersnj on 06/23/2014Wonderful Experience Our experience at Sussex Honda was great. We had been looking for a used Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for about a month, never finding the right combination of condition, color, and cost. That was true until we drove past… Sussex Honda. We stopped in and spoke with Gary about a test drive. We drove the jeep and loved it, perfect condition; came back in from the test drive and Gary gave us a very competitive price along with a good trade-in value on our car. Within a very short time, we were out the door with our Wrangler and superior service from Gary. Gary Z, in case you want to speak to a good salesman. I would definitely recommend this dealership based on competitive pricing and only offering excellent used cars. - CameronNot only does Gary Zinn thank you for your nice review, but Sussex Honda thanks you. Sussex Honda is proud of our staff and the excellent service they provide our customers. Enjoy driving your Jeep! Gary told me you looked great driving off with the Freedom Tops open!
They only quote MSRP
by john_777 on 03/24/2010I never heard of a place that wouldn't even write up a quote. When you ask for a quote they give you the MSRP and play up that they provide great service instead. Well that nice but I buy my car any where and have them service it. It has… nothing to do with purchasing the vehicle though. I found it a little amusing. I thought only morons paid MSRP. I wasn't even able to get them to quote through an internet qouting service that they belong too. They only offered to give counter quotes from other dealers, but god for bid they make the first quote. It not like they sell cars, oh wait they do ...but not to me. I had no problem getting online quotes from the other local honda dealerships.Don't shop here until Bernanke's Funny money dries up
by apiechowski on 11/25/2009I spent the last month trying to get a decent price from this dealership through the internet. It was a total waste of time. As long as any jerk can borrow money at Bernanke's low interest rates, these guys won't deal. They will tack on… doc fees ($175), license fees ($300+) and inflate the dealer invoice. These tactics are all extra profit for the dealer and sales force. Then they tell you that everybody does it so tough [violative content deleted]; then they say" go some where else and you won't do any better." In other words, as long as there is traffic in the showroom and 3 people standing behind you with excess funny money to piss away, you won't get a good deal here. The customer be damned! Take it from me - I previously bought 3 cars from this dealer because they negotiated the price. Now I go to Subaru where I also bought 2 cars at a decent no BS extra dealer profit crap added on. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sussex Honda and their Presidents Award
by jabber54 on 08/28/2008Back in 2002 I purchased a 2003 Honda Pilot from Sussex Honda and paid MSRP because it was the first model year and they were in such high demand. I have had this Honda Pilot faithfully and exclusively serviced by Sussex Honda for… 5-1/2 years and was very pleased with their Service. Naturally, when I decided to buy a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid I went to Sussex Honda. After all their Web site says they "want to earn your business for life and make you a satisfied customer". I was a satisfied customer and I spoke with Roger Gibbins who has been with Sussex Honda for 19 years and is a Gold Master Sales consultant and their web site says his name is "synonymous with customer service". Roger was courteous all right but is one of those car salesmen who if he could would charge you more than MSRP, it's a pride issue for him. I found him to be very arrogant and he told me that the best they could do was to charge me MSRP for the Honda Civic Hybrid since it was in so much demand. I told him I had been a loyal customer of Sussex Honda for 5-1/2 years certainly that has to count for something. He said if I didn't want to buy the car at MSRP that someone else would. I believe any gesture from him that recognized my patronage to them probably would have kept me as their customer. Something like I really can't do better on the price but you wanted that rear cup holder so we will throw that in as appreciation of you being our customer. So for twenty bucks they lost a loyal customer. I guess when you win the President's award you no longer have to try to please your customers you just expect them to do as you say. Anyway, I went to [violative content deleted], where I believe I may have even gotten the same car that was inbound to Sussex Honda from Japan for significantly below MSRP. [violative content deleted] So Roger Gibbins with his 19 years of experience lost a loyal customer for Sussex Honda, they lost the continued service of my Honda Pilot, they lost the Honda Civic Hybrid sale and the exclusive service on the Civic Hybrid, and, when my wife is looking for a new van early next year we will be sure not to go to Sussex Honda or have it serviced there as well. Businesses can not survive only on new business, repeat customers are the "bread and butter" of any business something Sussex Honda seems to have lost sight of. After all, there are some pretty good profit margins from dealer service and they certainly have made their share from servicing my vehicle. To treat me as if I was someone who just walked into their dealership without any prior relationship was an insult and a costly mistake for them. So, if you want to buy a Honda at MSRP go to Sussex Honda otherwise go to any non President's award dealer and you should be able to do better and be treated better.I had the same non negotiating experience and would recommend that you go to another Honda dealer.
Price, Honesty, Service, Great People!
by dlmoore on 02/07/2008I've sold cars for a living (Toyota-Lexis dealership) and made new car purchases too numerous to count. This is the best (bar none) dealership experience I've ever had. Bought a new Civic from Mike the manager after checking their inventory… on-line. Got the exact car I wanted at the exact price I was prepared to pay. Anything less would been stealing the vehicle. I've brought both my Hondas here for service ever since (over two years). They have totally backed me up on any warranty issues, their hourly rate is lower than the previous (local) Honda dealership I used, they have great service promotions and they have never tried to sell me something I didn't need (unlike the previous dealership who wanted to install new power door motors when all that was needed was to clean the contacts). I've taken many family members to buy cars, and this is my dealership of choice.Bait and Switch
by tiredofscamers on 04/28/2013updated 04/27/2025I noticed they have a couple of cars well below what they should be selling for. A 2007 Saturn Ion Stock #4644T just 87,645 miles for $1,000. Then another car, a 2006 Ford Focus Stuck #4642T with 116,842 miles for only $1,000. When you… click on the inquire button here, you get an email back with the true price of $6,999 and $5,999 respectively. This is just dishonest and dealerships cannot blame "the guy that does the internet stuff" anymore. Take ownership of your false advertising and stop this practice of bait-and-switch. I'm contacting the BBB too (if they even qualify). There's no way to give negative stars (like these dealerships sometimes do online) so I'm giving them one star.Great Sales Experience
by NORTHJRZGIRL on 04/28/2014updated 04/27/2025I had a wonderful sales experience at Sussex Honda. David K is a conscientious salesman. He worked hard to meet my needs and I was able to find the perfect car. I will definitely seek him out when we are ready to purchase our next Honda and… will definitely refer him to my friends.Great buying experience
by DK35 on 06/02/2014updated 04/27/2025Our purchase of a 2014 Honda Accord from Sussex Honda was a hassle-free, enjoyable experience. It was a pleasure dealing with Ron F and the other members of the Sussex Honda Team. We obtained the car at a reasonable price and the entire… experience was one of helpful interaction rather than the typical pressure-based haggling.Great Experiance
by Pat1960 on 02/21/2013updated 04/27/2025My Wife and I each purchase a new vehicle about every 3 to 4 years. We have purchased (4) cars from this dealer. The latest was a 2012 Crosstour (leftover) on 2/19/13. Our sales person David S. was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was… straight forward, honest, and had a great personality. We aggressively shopped around for this vehicle and went back to David with a bottom line, which he met. The whole experience was better than any other we have had purchasing vehicles prior to this. We would recommend David to anyone who wants a hassle free purchasing experience. Thanks Pat & PatTake the customer's money and run
by ad415 on 09/30/2011updated 04/27/2025The owner, management and sales people could care less about their customers. As long as that contract gets signed and their pockets get fat! 5 weeks after I bought a pre-owned vehicle it needed $2,200 worth of repairs. They wouldn't help… at all!!!! Apparently after 30 days it's "good-bye, check cashed". And they get to laugh all the way to the bank. DO NOT spend a dime at this dealership unless you like being taken advantage of and being treated like crap. You would think in this economy they would treat people who are looking to spend their hard earned money on a vehicle a little better. Apparently not. Spread the word because I certainly am.Catch of the day
by Tanukie on 06/04/2014updated 04/27/2025Catch of the day The internet is a great tool to use when finding that elusive Honda you have been looking for. At Sussex Honda (NJ) there it was. My Civic Si, in the only color I wanted but could not find, Fire Orange Pearl. Whoo Whooo.… Only three in a 100 mile area. Salesman Craig V, who was extremely polite, and definitely a good listener to what I expected. I had all ready decided to purchase this vehicle and Craig had no time for the sales pitch, it all came down to the price. And the price was right. Cudos to Sussex Honda for a hassle free exspreance.Edmunds & Sussex Honda - A Great Combination
by BridgewaterNJ on 03/02/2013updated 04/27/2025Edmunds helped us locate the car we were looking for and Sussex Honda, especially our salesperson Felix, was a pleasure to deal with. I've never had an easier sales experience.Purchasing a New Honda Pilot
by bigmikey3 on 04/18/2014updated 04/27/2025This dealership was a pleasure to work with from sales to sales manager to the finance person. This is the 3rd new car I've purchase in 3years.Mueller Visit
