Dishonest and not too bright
by hondabuyer8 on 07/13/2009Negotiating with this dealer for a 2009 lease. I stipulated I wanted 36 months and $0 down (other than bank fee, taxes, 1st month, and registration) for the vehicle. Salesperson sent quote for 42 months "0 down + $1500 inception." I called… to dizcuss the quote and this conversation took place: Buyer: A $1500 inception fee is not zero down. Salesperson: Oh, you meant zero zero? Buyer: I said bank fee, taxes, 1st month, + registration and no other fees Salesperson: Oh, the $1500 is because we're really up front with our buyers and the bank might not approve you at the Tier One rate.See,other dealers don't tell you that. Buyer: That's a dishonest answer. No other dealer added an 'inception' fee claiming it had to do with loan approval. The 'honest' thing to do would be to say, if you don't have Tier One credit (720 at Honda), you'll pay more per month. .I have a mid 900s credit score. Remove the $1500. Also, I want a 36-month lease Salesperson: OK, I'll re-send the quote Result: I received a quote for 42 months again in which the salesperson simply divided the $1500 by 42 and added that to the monthly charge (+ an additional 25 cents per month) increasing the actual payments! Recommendations: Avoid these not too bright and dishonest folks.No negotiating!

This dealership is the closest to me so I went here first. They were willing to match what another dealership had… offered me but would not negotiate any lower. They did try to pressure me into buying, telling me that I would not get a better price anywhere. Lo and behold, I bought my CRV a couple days later for $200 less and could not be happier!A pleasure

He beat all the prices I had been quoted and I picked up the Accord that day. He went over all the features and… even followed up with me the day after. My sales representative from Honda was thorough in his explanations, he asked me questions about my previous car to get an idea of what type of car I wanted and/or needed. He didn't try… to be a "sales person" and try to sell me something I didn't want or need. The entire team was helpful and made sure all of my questions were answered, from the signing of all of the documents to all the way until I drove off the lot with my new 2013 Honda Accord XE (in the color I wanted). I had sent my request online on Edmunds, and the next morning I received a call and made an appointment for that same afternoon. As a woman, I sometimes feel the sales person is trying to take advantage of you; but I came well prepared having done my own homework before I stepped on the lot, which I highly suggest every one should do male or female. I knew what questions to ask, I knew what I absolutely needed and may even wanted, and wasn't going to leave with anything less. I drove away a very happy driver in a new car with the "bells and whistles" I wanted and needed. Thank you Honda from Tenafly, especially Michael H.++++No pressure!!++++

The whole team their is great starting from Jeff and family. They folks make it easy and affordable to purchase or… lease a car with no hidden scams fees and bs. Everyone sales Rep there is awesome but I've been dealing with Mark for years and he's my go to guy. Listen don't waist your time in any other dealer.. Go visit Honda of Tenafly and ask for Mark & you'll see what we mean!best price

I asked him if the price was just tax and minor fees. He said yes. I was very happy… because I went to another dealer and they told me the price quoted online included military and college bogus rebates. Needless to say I walked out. WhenI went to the dealership Mark and Jessica in the finance office were honest and helpful. I would absolutely refer this place to anyone looking for a good deal at a great price.Great car but where is the service?

My temp tag expired on the 8th of August and I get the runaround from Julio C. Not to mention I traded in my vehicle and am still… getting calls saying my payment is due and the loan hasn't been paid yet. Horrible customer service! They say they will make it up to me but nothing has been done. I wish I could write a great review but just can't.Great experience!! 7th car

We now live over a half hour away from the dealership and still purchase our cars there. They always treat us like good friends making all our deals easy and priced… competitively.Our latest car was for our 17 year old son. It was a 2012 CRV EX-L. They treated him just as special and professional as they do us. He was able to operate all the controls and navigation after he left the showroom thanks to Kristen, his sales rep.Excellent Sales and Service, I Love These Guys

The price for the trade in was pretty good, but my salesman, Steve kept pushing the crv and kept insisting that I should lease instead of finance because I wanted lower monthly… payments. We sat there till 45 minutes after they closed while he tried to convince me to lease. When I took too long and said I wanted to think about it, his reply was "what do I have to do to get you to sign these papers?" D&C Honda is your typical run of the mill sleazy car dealership. Dont buy from them.Salesman excellent, Sales Manager Poor, Price Poor

All the other dealers were able to do this and we ended up paying $800 less than the price D&C would not move from.Highly recommend

Couple of problems with the review. First, there's no such thing as a "mid-900s" credit score. Also, why wouldn't the monthly payment go up without the $1,500 down? Isn't this simple math? I don't think the reviewer knows as much as he thinks he does. Rather, he's a little paranoid and so sure the dealer will try to "screw him" that he's making a bad experience become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
