Typical Sales Tactics
by tz21 on 09/20/2008Recently went in looking for an MDX. Shopped around over the internet and spoke with many different dealers. Called Bedford and they quoted a lower price over the phone, but wouldn't commit to it when I actually showed up. They kept… wanting to see my trade-in before negotiating any further pricing on the new vehicle. Set a very low expectation for my trade-in by "adding" miles to the internet price quote shown and lowering the condition rating without seeing it. I know this is done at a lot of dealers, but was very put-off by the arrogance and pushiness with which it was done. I would not recommend this dealership for those searching for an Acura. There are many others in the NY/CT/NJ area that will be much better to deal with.Dishonest Dealer: Avoid at all costs

They lied and misrepresented information to me about a used Acura MDX to get me to buy it in one visit and then when I got home I was horrified to find out had they had told me the… asking price for the car was 28.9K when right there on there internet site it was listed for 22.9K and they had used every sleezy used car salesman tactic to get me to pay over the actual asking price while on the lot. When I called them immediately, they actually admitted that they misrepresented information to me but would do nothing about it. When I investigated on the Internet further, I discovered I could get the exact same used car with all the same features for $7,000 less than I paid. Eventhough this dealer is located in posh Bedford, these guys are as sleezy as the sleezest dealers out there. Buyer Beware!blatantly fraudulent dealer practices
by rajatindia on 02/25/2008Acura of Bedford Hills, 700 Bedford Road, NY 10507 scammed me by selling me a vehicle VIN: 2HKYF18564H591662 by stating a lower mileage of 29715 in its advertisement instead of the actual 32610. They failed to mention it in our… discussions about the sale. They also took a $1000 deposit from my credit card without my approval. I filed a complaint with Federal Trade Commission, New York Consumer Protection Board, Honda Consumer Affairs(case no: N012008-02-2501129) and New Jersey Divison of Consumer Affairs.I am only a consumer and read your post about Bedford Hills dealership. It seems you have the vehicle. The difference was 2,895 miles that could have been from road testing. I happen to like this dealership and hope your next experience is a good one. Good luck, Carly
The comment above is obviously from the dishonest Dealer. What real consumer is going to make such a comment rationalizing their mistake with insider jargon such as "roadtesting". Not only have these guys proven that they are dishonest, they have provided evidence that are not too smart either-- a very bad combination. Be sure to avoid.
Dishonest salesmen

They had agreed to match my best offer from another dealer that was just a little further away from home. I had test driven the car in Bedford Hills and wanted to give them my business.… However, when I arrived with my trade-in, they low-balled the price and then justified it by telling me that i was getting such a great deal on the price of the car. They also gave me several lines of typical slimy salesman bull to convince me my car wasn't worth what I said it was worth and that no one would give me what I was asking. They also claimed that there would be extra fees if I did business in Jersey(where i ultimately bought the car) or Connecticut. I immediately went to the dealer that originally offered me the lowest price and got the price of the car, the trade-in value of my car, no extra fees and they threw in all-season mats and wheel locks. I'm so glad I didn't do business in Bedford Hills.
