by Kjb14086 on 04/29/2018I am highly dissatisfied with Joe Basil Collision & Body Shop. I am not sure if there is enough space in this section to explain the complete dissatisfaction with this Joe Basil Depe Department from the first time I had to go there. Let me… preface that the only reason I had to go there is for an appraisal because NY Central Mutual Insurance company uses them as a certified appraiser. My car was hit my a client of NYCM and I had to get it fixed by going to their appraiser. 1) After getting my car appraised and receiving an estimate from Joe Basil, I was forced into getting my car fixed from there as a back deal between NYCM and Joe Basil had been made to somehow decide for me that I had to get it fixed there. After questioning NYCM it was discovered that Joe Basil was the one who told NYCM that I had chosen them to do the work there and this their payment was sent and I was told it was done. My first mistake was to just let this happen and go with it. 2) After receiving a solid estimate in the approx dollar amount of $1980+ I later received correspondence from NYCM that the payment made to Joe Basil was competed and was considerably less than was on my estimate!? I then read an attached page that showed a NEW and completely different estimate done by Joe Basil without my knowing and without me being there. Yes a new estimate. I was very surprised and made calls to find out what was missing and why was there was new estimate done. This was a complete BAIT AND SWITCH. 3) after being promised a rental car I showed up and was turned away when I came there to drop off car the first day. I was told to come back 3 days later. 3 days later I came to drop off car again and again rental was a concern but they finally decided to give me one. Again a problem 4) The rearend fender bender was told to me that it was a 3-4 day job. but after 2 1/2 weeks later the job was not finished. 5) Their lack of communication with me the consumer was unbelievable. I had to keep calling to find out the status of my car and inquire why it was taking so long. I received different stories each time I called. To make matters worse Joe Basil was finfer pointing with a vendor about a part that was supposedly shipped and not shipped and in the meantime I sat and was without my car while the squabbled. 6) After I just picked up my car and driobebit home there is now sounds and issues with the steering and clanging in areas of the car where they had no business being as the fix was back left driver side. They seem to have damaged or caused something else with my car to go wrong and it is extremely frustrating. I have called NYCM to report Joe Basil. 7) From the time I dropped the car off and when I picked it up Joe Basil seems to have driven the car 30 miles for some reason. My gas tank was lowered over a 11/2 gallons as I noted it when I dropped it off. 30 miles for a road test? And for collision work? I am very angry and highly advise not taking any work to Joe Basil as they are not reputableI am happy to report that after Managerial intervention, Manager Craig Kolby took the time to speak with me and addressed all my concerns and listened to all the problmes that have occured to me as it pertained to my visit with Joe Basil. I was very pleased with his approach and the time he took to actually listen to all the things that happened and look into the matter. His acknowledgement that things were not handled up to his and the dealership's standards goes a long way to making me feel better. And much more important I may never find out what happened to my car but Craig Kobly has guaranteed me he will make it right and is taking care of fixing the situation and the damage hat I found with the car when I picked it up. I am very satisfied at this point and I wanted to update my comments to reflect such Keith B

by Jeff716 on 01/27/2018This has happened multiple times to me or my wife, we come in they don’t have the part and then I have to come back and they act like they don’t know why i am here. I came on my original appointment paid 1300 to have new tires, breaks,… etc. however, I️ was told my heated seated couldn’t be fixed and they needed to order the part. I come back on the appointment date two weeks later (that basil scheduled) and am told they never even looked at the seat in my previous appointment and that the assistant that handle my work has been fired and lied to me. At that point at had to fight to get them to look at my car, have a feeling I am going to have to come back a third time for something under warranty. Just disappointed with the service. I actually liked the dealership, but I am struggling to want to come back when I purchase a future car.Stay Away
by bflorunner on 01/21/2018The worst experience I've ever had at a car dealership. It started pleasantly enough with an email contact and an appointment to speak with the "Manager on Duty". Upon arrival, the person we were to speak with was not available. Once he… was, it was so hard to follow what he was saying, we had to keep asking the same questions over agian. He spoke fast and mumbled. How does someone like that sell cars? He continually contradicted himself on car features. When we went back inside, we had to sit on a bench because there were no free tables. Then, he collected my personal information within earshot of about 10 other customers. What kind of setup is this that provides not personal privacy. In this day and age of hacking and having your personal information stolen, the best this place can do is to have the interior of the dealership setup like a coffee shop??? Then, I said I wanted to lease and he wasn't sure if they were still leasing the year/model/make we were interested in. What? After ten, minutes he came back to inform us that, "We were in luck! They were still leasing them!". WTF? After another interminable wait, we were presented with lease terms based on a sale price that was $5000 above the price the advertised on their web site. When I inquired about this, he said that was the "Buy price". I looked at my wife; looked back to him and said, "We have to go.". Give me a break, Joe Basil Chevrolet. You lost me for good and I hope many people read this and just STAY AWAY.Great dealership

Ben took care of me and was extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. A nail of some sort was found in my tire and Ben informed me that they did… not have the tire I needed at the shop but could have it there shortly to replace it. Due to having somewhere to get to, I had to leave but was told that my tire would be there and ready for me to come back. I was very satisfied with your timely service and will definitely be back for my other needed services in the future. Also, the free car wash is awesome!Equinox review

Luckily, it was during the extremely short time-span, between the snow storm passing, and the rain approaching. The guys at Basil said get it in… there asap. No waiting, no questions. They knew I couldn't go another day without my car. Somehow, I was able to drive all the way from Olcott to Depew under clear blue skies, in February, no less. One thing that will stick in my mind, is the looks on the guys' faces, when they realized my 2015 Equinox, purchased in January of 2015, had 60000 miles, almost 62k, here a mere two weeks later! As an update was suggested and my request was not honored. I have nothing good to say… about this dealer, and I prefer to just move on. So tired of car dealers in general. Time to move on.I normally post a dealer review for a short time then delete it. I had no idea this site would not allow the writer to change their mind. Basil Chevy had an attorney threaten me with a lot of nonsense. As all My reviews good or not so favorable are always 100% truthful. I never tell anyone to not shop at a dealership. Face it. They all have a few unfavorable reviews. For some reason Joe Basil Chevy has a thin skin. Anyway, rather than argue I took all the posts down I could. This dealership has no interest in making good on what bothered me. Plus they invited me to the dealership knowing who I was, because all past email is on file. I really had high hopes only to be told a day later that they don't want my business. For reason of past issues. I don't know why, now. I have been at their dealership many times after they did not honor their advertisement, three separate times. I was willing to try again. Anyhow, there are over one hundred fifty dealerships in a seventy five mile radius. So, I don't care if they don't want or need my business. I vent and move on. I rarely write reviews anymore. No point to it. I would have thought Basil Chevy would have called me before playing the attorney card. I'm not unreasonable and unlike Basil's willingness to right a wrong they repeated three times. I would have honored their concern; If it was in my power to do so. I don't like to close doors. However it looks like I'm closing all the doors to all Basil dealerships. I just don't need the stress. Or a phony apology. Like they always have in the past. If you are truly sorry. You make it right. No matter the cost. West Herr gets it. They always treat me well. No matter if I buy from them or not. Plus they keep thier advertised word...
