new vehicle purchase
by jdlarrymelinda on 12/16/2015well, we've always bought Explorers...so we thought we wanted a smaller vehicle that could still transport our products, we didn't take into account the lower storage space in the back..we accounted for the space in width and depth but it… just didn't occur to us at the time, as our products are extremely heavy and bending at the knees is not an option..so we exchanged our new Escape for an Edge and it is perfect, almost identical to the Explorers we are familiar with just a bit smaller. Lindale Brothers was our salesman and Toney Smith was our financial adviser we are most appreciative of all their help, and quite sure they will remember us. by livinobx on 05/28/2014updated 04/27/20252003 we bought 2 new fords, now hall owns the dealership, tried to talk to the sales mgr about a 14 explorer xlt, no trade, just wanted lowest price they will go. all he said was he wasn't interested, they wanted almost full retail and its… may. we ended up buying a Chevrolet, never hall in the future.I apologize for your recent experience. Dissatisfied with service dept.
by coreycohen323 on 09/21/2013updated 04/27/2025First some background information. I've bought 3 vehicles from Hall Auto within the past 3 years. I have referred multiple friends and family to Hall and their multiple dealerships. My wife and I live in Virginia Beach. We chose Elizabeth… City Ford (which is 60 miles away) even though there are atleast a dozen Ford dealerships with 15 miles. We chose them because we have enjoyed the Hall Auto experience. We bought a 2014 Ford Explorer and after less than 3 weeks a panel that was part of the 3rd row seat had cracked. I then contacted my salesman and he told me to bring it down to be looked at, which I was fine with. So the associates of the service dept took multiple photos of the panel and stated it would be submitted to Ford for warranty and that the replacement panel would be ordered. I received a call stating that Ford would not cover the panel (which is a whole other story) but that the dealership was going to replace it to make it right. At this point I'm still satisfied with Hall Auto. So I received another call stating that the part had come in and that I needed to make an appointment, which I made a 10am Saturday appointment. I left Virginia Beach and drove the hour or so and arrived at 9:50am and checked in. My Explorer wasn't even touched until nearly 11:15am despite the 10am appointment. I was then notified at 11:45 that they had ordered the wrong part (despite all the pictures) and I would have to come back again to have it installed once the part came in. So I drove 2 hours round trip, sat in the waiting room for 2 hours, and I'm in the same situation I started in. This now being my second trip down I've wasted 6 hours of my time and at least a tank of gas. I still have to go down once more so add another 2 hours of drive time and based off the service time frame this morning and addition 2 hours in the waiting room, which the majority of the time my vehicle will sit in the spot that I had parked it in. So overall I was happy with the sales team but the service team has room for improvement. I will have atleast 10 hours of my time vested not to mention money for gas. Over all it is a very frustrating experience considering I payed 45k for a brand new vehicle barely a month ago.The Girls at Hall !!

You could not ask for any one more friendly than the girls in the service Dept. They know you by name, say hello, and do what ever you need. They make you… feel welcome and glad you came in the door. Not once has anyone been rude at all. I want to say thank you to. Amy Parker Manager and her staff. They are Peggy Trotman, Tara Perkins,Amanda Murphy& Shannon Stryker. They have all done a great job and I am very glad to know them all. This is one group of ladies I would not let go. I would give then a bonus if it were me. God Bless and keep up the great work. I bought two brand new Ford trucks for our business in December of 2012,we traded in a 2004 Ford. I paid… Hall Ford to research the title because we had misplaced it. While they were trying to clear up the title issue they asked me to give them a check in the amount of $6,500 to hold in the file (same value as the trade) until they received the lost title. Guess what? They cashed the check without contacting me to let me know. I am furious. Now they tell me to come pick up the truck that we traded because it's too late to resolve the issue. I will never use Hall Ford to buy a vehicle again. We have spent over $100,000 with them over the past year and this is the way I am treated? Unbelievable. I am contacting my attorney and I am also contacting Ford. Take my advice.....don't be fooled.Thank you for your support of our business and the numerous purchases you have made from our store. It was only as a last resort that we had to deposit the check you wrote in lieu of the title for 2003 F-150. As we discussed with you during the transaction, we required a check equal to the amount of the trade value since you did not have the title. In addition to the check you wrote, you also signed a promissory note acknowledging and agreeing the check would be deposited after thirty days if you did not provide us with the title. After the thirty day grace period expired, dealership personnel including myself attempted to contacted you numerous times. We waited an additional thirty days after the promissory note expired before depositing the check. As the General Manager of the dealership, I am still willing to take the vehicle in as a purchased unit at the current market value if you can provide us with a title.
