    We recently bought 2 cars from Gopal at Modern Toyota and were extremely pleased with our experience . we have bought so far 4 cars at this dealership and have been very satisfied with our purchases . they have the best deals around . Gopal was very respectful and patient with us , he lets us explore through without putting any pressure on us .I would highly recommend Goapl and Modern Toyota to buy a Toyota and get the best deal in NC on your car .We will definitely return here again .

  • Unethical sales and Management team

    I bought a 2016 Toyota Highlander from Modern Toyota, we had agreed to the price of the car $26285 (Out of Door) and it was confirmed and agreed by both sides, when I went to sign the final papers, the final Out of Door price was printed $26825 which #2 and #8 was reversed and for some reason I did not notice the problem until I got home that night, I went back to the dealer next day and asked the sales manager to correct the problem the guy who sold me the car confirmed the problem but both him and his sales manager refused to correct the problem. So for that reason I will not recommend this unethical dealer to anyone.

    Worked with Kenny Waters this past week as we traded in two cars and bought a used car and a new car. We were impressed with Kennys knowledge about both automobiles and liked his friendly,no pressure sales manner. We appreciated his efficiency and in two days all the details were worked out completely ( including the transport of the car we wanted from Spartanberg to Winston Salem.) The paperwork was handled efficiently by Brad Mcadams for the Miata sale and by Judith Taylor for the sale of the Rav 4. Did we mention we love, love, love the cars ! Highly recommend Modern Toyota and All the staff mentioned above !

  • Very poor customer service shown to me.

    So I waited a month to write this. I'll tell you what I experienced. Got a used car it's great. It had a tire issue they fixed it for free. They have a great selection of used cars more than any place in Winston. Mo was my sale rep he was good that day. Mark Coplon was the finance manager he was nice. Realized after I got home I had signed for an odometer reading that was not accurate (flag #1) pay attention with this if you buy a used vehicle. Called and spoke to mo about getting an appointment for the tires to be fixed... He said "they don't have appointments you have to come in early". I can't do that cause of work. Ginger had asked me if I had an appointment the first time I came with my car to get the tires looked at so I knew that they made appointments for larger services. Called back and spoke to someone besides mo and got an appointment. So life goes on... And my 30 day tag expires. I was like what in the world where is my license plate. Mo instructed me it would come in the mail. It never did. So I couldn't drive my new car for a couple days, then I waited until Monday and went to the dealership and talked to mo again. I told him the situation and he was like no one here can help call Teresa she's the only one who does tag stuff. At this point I'm frustrated anyway and he was no help at all. He has a very poor lack of customer service. I never got a I'm sorry or a oh I hate that happened to you. He doesn't say yes mam or no mam. One of the other sales reps there he's a shorter Hispanic male he was So nice and I wish he would have sold me the car. He showed so much care. He was like oh call Teresa and if not contact one of us here if you don't hear anything. I'm sorry and I hope we can fix it. He was wonderful. Made me feel better. I called Teresa and left her a voicemail she never got back to me so I called the dealership and demanded I talk to a manager. This was my only week day off in weeks. I had to get my plate this day. Johnny helped me a lot and transferred me to different people. I went through about 8 people. Ended up talking to one of the finance managers I believe can't remember his name but he was nice and called me back like he said he would after he figured out the problem. He got my plate in that day. Keep in mind I went to the tag office and this new vehicle I got wasn't even showing up registered under myself. That means I was driving an.....unregistered car for 30 days...... I guess they fixed the paperwork and everything that day because obviously something had went wrong in the process. I came to pick up my plate and mo was there. He saw me pulling up and texted me my tag was here! And then I got out and he was like I had just texted you! I'm like yeah when you saw me coming to save your butt. He just handed me my plate. Didn't even offer to put the plate on for me. He was like here's your plate. It came in today sometimes it takes a while for it to come to the dealership. And that frustrated me because he had already told me they get mailed to your house I had asked him this 3 times. I had to ask him to put the plate on for me. He didn't even offer too. He put the plate on in a really lethargic manner. Anyways I'm just amazed by the lack of customer service mo has. He is not very professional at all. If I ever come back I'm going to make sure to steer clear of mo. I feel like I should be treated a little bit better than I was regarding the situations I have had. A little more promptness, a little more oh let me get you to talk to a manager asince you drove all the way here asince you are concerned about your plate, a little bit more manners, yes mam no mam I'm sorry this happened to you more compassion would have been nice, and a little bit more knowledge of the services modern Toyota offers. Ginger handed this survey out to me and said if you don't let us know what to fix, how will we ever know. Here are some things you need to improve on. thanks for your time.

    This dealership has a great website and exceptional people to follow up on inquiries. Huge inventory and plenty of smiling faces to welcome you to this facility. I test drove a used Sienna then waited too long to make my decision thus loosing the deal. Rachel and Larry contacted me with a better deal and made the whole car buying experience painless. I recommend this dealership for any transportation needs.

    At Modern Toyota, the sales representatives are knowledgeable and helpful. Wes Wheeler possessed a superb knowledge on not only individual vehicles, but on each trim level for each vehicles. He was very helpful in our decision to buy a 2015 Toyota Sienna XLE, though we looked at the Highlander and 4Runner as well. He showed a "service with a smile" mentality, and never got frustrated despite our laundry list of questions and desire to drive and see multiple vehicles. Despite the tremendous amount of research that we did prior to viewing the vehicles, he knew answers to every question that we had! On the finance side, Yates Moon did a wonderful job explaining all of our options for financing the vehicle. He provided a personal side to the different warranty options and the benefits and limitations of each. In addition to being thorough, he was also exceedingly efficient. The manager Steve Bryan also went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant experience and to make sure we were well taken care of. Overall, a very satisfying car purchasing experience!

    The salesman was great. He wasn't pushy and spent a ton of time with us, never making us feel rushed or like we were being sold to. He listened to our needs and answered all our questions thoughtfully and completely. Even after we finished our paperwork (which was after hours) he spent time connecting our phones to bluetooth, showing us how everything worked and making sure we were all set to enjoy our new car from day one. It was a great experience and we would buy our next car here.

  • Bad situation avoided!!

    I arrived on the lot after driving roughly 6 hours to find that the 2 trucks I was interested in had sold. Devastated, because I had called just hours before and was assured they were still on the lot, I was about to walk out. But my sales representative, Chad Gordon, went to bat for me. Disappointed after hearing my story he told his manager about the mishap. Long story short the dealership put me in a TRD PRO off the showroom for a better deal than I was getting on a neighboring dealership on an SR5!!! Unbelievable!! Greatest experience, greatest deal, and greatest salesman Chad Gordon. For these reasons and more will be why I will drive 6 more hours for my next vehicle.

    I have had a lot of dealings with car dealerships since I lease every 2-3 years. I have dealt with most major dealerships in the triad and I must say this was the easiest transaction I have had. The staff was very friendly and my sales guy Matt McDonald was very informative and helpful in every way. He listened to all my needs (with can be a lot) and I never once felt pressured. The facility was very clean with complementary beverages. Once time came to sign the papers Yates Moon helped me understand the whole transaction and answered every question I had.. I have always felt this is where you just "sign here" and "sigh there" was done but not this time. I will definitely visit Modern again when I am due for a new car.

    Gopal Chandarana was very easy going, knowledgeable and nice. The Toyota Sienna was a great driving, nicely equipped van. I went from Honda Odyssey to Toyota and am very excited!! The service department and waiting area is by far the nicest and most kid friendly area, again compared to the Flow Honda service area that has little to do for little ones while waiting.

  • My Experience Selling My Car to Modern Toyota

    "I just wanted to let you know about my experience. I used the AutoTrader.com online tool to evaluate my car, a top of the line 2013 Dodge Challenger with less than 18,000 miles on it. I received the offer and was contacted the next day by AutoHouse in Salisbury by email and by phone. They said they were very interested in my car. I took it up there and their appraiser proceeded to tell me that I needed tires (which I had disclosed), and that he would have to do a 18 point inspection on the car, and there were several things that it needed (which there WERE NOT). In essence, he insulted me and my car. He then offered me $4,000 LESS than the Autotrader offer. I told him, no thank you, and LEFT. I let the offer run out and re-entered it; and the offer was almost $1000 more than the original offer, which I thought was a fair offer. I sent the information to Modern Toyota in Winston-Salem. Michelle contacted me the next day and I set up an appointment to let them appraise my car. From the moment we arrived, it was a pleasant experience. We were treated friendly and professionally. We were offered something to drink while we waited for the appraisal. Long story short, I sold my car to them (Marty Mayes). It was painless, and actually enjoyable. Marty gave me the full amount of the second offer, no questions asked. I will NEVER do business with AutoHouse in Salisbury, NC, and I will make sure ALL of my friends know what type of people they are. On the other hand, I plan to tell everyone I can about my positive experience at Modern Toyota. Thank you!!"
