    I was impressed by the direct attention from the repair rep Ryan when I was confronted with an unplanned tire issue on my nearly-new 3 series sedan. Though they didn't have my exact tire in-stock, Ryan talked me through my options. I chose… to leave the vehicle with them for the afternoon and rent one for the day as he was able to obtain an exact replacement and have it replaced before closing. Another plus for him for handling the rental return. He was a professional, effective and friendly advocate. 'just what you need in an issue involving unexpected vehicle repair.

    I had a scheduled appointment at BMW of Columbia to replace a recalled airbag. When I arrived at the dealership, I was greeted by a pleasant intake staff. The Service Department staff was equally nice. There was an on-site cookout to… kick off football season. I was taken aback that the General Manager (GM) was the person grilling outdoors in 95* temperature. Indoors, I observed him checking the trash cans and packing overflowing trash. No job too low for the head honcho. My repair was done in less than the estimated time. While in the waiting area, I was greeted by all staff in close proximity to me and most initiated a conversation - including the GM. I felt so comfortable in the waiting area, that I was not ready to leave once my vehicle was ready. Thumbs up to a super team!

    Purchased a used 328i, first used car IÂ’ve purchased in many years. They made the process very quick and easy. Most of it was done over the phone and I was in and out of actual store in less than an hour.

    My review of my service visit on 7/20/18.... What a absolute treat the BMW OF COLUMBIA Service staff an technicians are simply amazing point blank period... My advisor Mr. Daniel Lee was fantastic took care of everything I needed an then… some went above an beyond what was needed... Also the service advisor Mr. Daren Ball I can’t express how awesome that guy is... But I know if you have a BMW an your not getting it serviced at BMW OF COLUMBIA you are wrong... I drove over an hour an it was well worth the drive so again thank you to the advisory staff an service staff... An a quick shout to the service technician Mr. Jason.M man your awesome keep up the fantastic work.... Five star rating

    sales advisor Z.R. described the run flat tires as flat tires as flat proof and self-re-inflating. The tires are a joke and I will spend the next 2-3 years in a BMW with a spare tire in the trunk. Thank you Z.R. & thank you BMW of… Columbia!

    We started looking for alternatives to Charlotte, NC because the delearships in Charlotte have a bit of a "take it or leave" attitude when it comes to showing automobiles. We found the sales and management staff at BMW Columbia to be… helpful, knowledgeable and flexible. This was an excellent customer experience for us.

  • BMW of Columbia Plays Games

    I went to test drive a 135i demo at BMW of Columbia in Columbia, SC. The car in question was being pulled in from a test drive as we drove onto the lot. A salesman followed us around as we looked at the car, sat in it, played with controls,… etc. He knew virtually nothing about the 135i but that didn't worry me a lot. I asked if I could test drive the car and was told yes we could take it out after they took my license info. We went inside the dealership and after waiting a couple of minutes the salesman came back and said the manager wanted to keep the miles down on the demo, therefore I wouldn't be able to drive the car unless I demonstrated I was "a serious customer". I'm not sure what could have indicated that we weren't serious, and the salesman wasn't clear on what we needed to do to demonstrate "seriousness". I politely informed the salesman that I wasn't going to be buying that day but in no case would I buy a car from anyone without driving it first. His response was "well, we just need to know that you're serious...", again without indicating what would be required to demonstrate this. At that point I simply said "congrats, you just lost a customer". I then found the sales manager and told him the same thing before leaving. Some answers to potential questions about this situation: * I was with my wife and 23 year old son, who drove his own BMW onto the lot. Needless to say, we looked like customers that could afford a 1-series. * The demo had just returned from a test drive with "serious customers" who subsequently left without buying a car and had no intention of buying a car. * Neither the salesman or sales manager indicated what their metric for customer "seriousness" was, and I was in no mood to attempt mind-reading. If they'd simply ran our credit score there would have been no question as to our seriousness. * I have other satisfactory options for where to buy to the car, but I will not excuse the sleazy behavior of this particular outfit. If you are looking for an upscale dealership with knowledgeable staff then avoid BMW of Columbia at all costs. It will be worth a two hour drive to Greenville or Charleston to deny them my business.

    I feel it is my duty to write this review so you all will know what you may be getting in to if you do purchase a pre-owned vehicle at BMW Columbia. I waited an entire year to buy a car. I searched and searched. I found the one I wanted at… BMW Columbia. From the outside she was beautiful. I paid almost 25k for the vehicle (that did include closing fee). It was considered “AS-IS” although when you buy a pre-owned vehicle from a reputable dealer like BMW (an expensive one) you expect to get a great car. I expected this. I bought the car on April 8 and within 18 hours I realized the air did not work. I called BMW and they advised me to take it to a local dealer since I did drive over an hour from my home to buy the car. I took the car in and the air conditioner was broken and the local dealer told me whoever sold me the car knew this. On top of the air, there were several things wrong with the car. There was an oil seepage, water hose leak, power steering hose had a leak, an unacceptable tire, and something else I can’t think of. Over $2100 in repairs needed 24 hours after buying a $25,000 car. Mind Blowing. Chad M the pre-owned manager did not agree to pay for the repairs. And by this point I was already asking them to please take the car back. This beautiful piece of junk they sold me. I then went up the chain of Command to Nate C. Nate was very professional and a nice guy. But business is business. I asked him as well please take the car back. He would not do so, but did agree to send a check to the local shop to fix the problems. Fast forward to 12 days after buying the car and I still don’t have it. After several repairs were done, I took the car home and within hours the engine was knocking. I had it towed back to the shop. I called BMW Columbia again. Once again Nate was very nice. But nice just doesn’t solve the problem when you are a middle class mom working a full time job and you finally get something nice to drive only to realize you bought a lemon. Not to mention I have two kids to transport. Nate forwarded the problem to General Manager: David M. Mr. M was somewhat condescending to me, speaking over me and had me on speaker phone, which I did not like. I do not know how many people were listening to me beg him to take the car back. Humiliating. I told him I assumed I had gotten a great car from a multi-billion dollar company like BMW and his exact words were that I shouldn’t have assumed. He told me that they were standing behind the car and they did not have too. Which it is true they could have really screwed me over and not fixed any of it. But when I asked would they take the car back before I had even owned it 24 hours, before my check had even been cashed, they should have agreed. Not because it is the law but because it would have been the RIGHT thing to do. I don’t have thousands of dollars. I work hard for my money. And I really messed up when I chose BMW Columbia. It has turned out to be the worst financial mistake of my life thus far. The car now jumps ahead when accelerating and also sometimes the engine whistles. Yesterday a service light came on. I went and sold the car before I lost any more money. I took a $3800 loss. And I now have no car to drive. Thank You BMW Columbia. Please BUYER BEWARE.

  • TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

    I recently I took my Certified Pre-Owned BMW to BMW of Columbia to have a couple service issues taken care of. From the onset, they were unaccommodating and generally unwilling to perform service that should have been addressed under the… Manufacturer’s warranty. Most notably, a separation in the leatherette was called “wear and tear.” After I pointed out that the leather issue is a common concern among BMW owners and voiced my displeasure with the way they were handling the situation, they reluctantly agreed to ask BMW if they could fix the seat. During the course of these exchanges, I contacted another dealership who immediately agreed to address all the issues under warranty, and ordered parts for the car without having seen it even. Unsolicited, they offered to pick up the car, leave me a loaner vehicle, and return my car to me when the repairs were complete. The service manager there said that when a car is under warranty, their policy is basically to fix anything other than an empty fuel tank. He was being figurative, but his point was understood. I relayed this information back to BMW of Columbia, and their response was to ask me to pick up my car and let the other dealership complete the repairs. I informed them that any surveys I received from BMW about the service I received would be answered honestly and that I would be submitting negative reviews. They replied that if that were the case, they would never service my car again. They refused to work on my car ever again because I expressed dissatisfaction with the service I had received. The Service Manager, Dean P., the general manager and service advisors are rude, argumentative and inattentive to reasonable expectations for good customer service. You have a choice in where you purchase your next car and where you have it serviced. Anyone who expects even the most basic levels of customer service would be well advised to take their business elsewhere.

    Effortless and I left with a smile on my face. They were courteous, respectful of my preferences for a car, didn't waste time with alot of back and forth negotiations. Straightforward, professional. I'm a 5 time BMW buyer but went to this… dealer on a friend's recommendation due to continuing dissatisfcation with all SC/NC dealers. I will never buy anywhere else and I want to tell the world! They are the best. I was in and out in 3 hours, preliminary discussions via phone on the drive up.
